Aden blinked twice, and double checked if his ears were indeed functional. "What did you say?"
Silence followed and he'd almost believed he'd heard wrongly, before it echoed louder this time.
"I believe you're not in the best condition to engage the enemies... Lord."
Aden's lips curved upwards in a cold, life–ending smile. "I see. It would seem you do need discipline after all."
His bones cracked. "I should have enough time for that."
Lorelei's eyes flung wide in horror, and before she could say anything else, a fist had already been planted squarely on her face.
His voice drained out the muffled groan that followed. "Normally, I would have killed you, but you did me a great service by saving this body."
"Hence," he lifted her up by her throat as he continued with a manic smile. "You shall only lose your ability to speak."
"No! I didn't—"
