Actually, Kenmei didn't need to shout. A single thought was all it took for the [Warhammer Simulator] interface to pop up automatically.
Why did he act so silly, shouting like a badass for the system to appear?
Because only when he was with his sister could Kenmei act like a child again. It made him feel safe.
Even though right now, the only things in her eyes were boundless hatred and a ravenous hunger for his flesh, with absolutely zero sibling affection.
But things would get better.
Kenmei had a theory on how to cure her "sickness," but he needed to run some experiments first.
Before that, increasing his own strength was the real priority.
Kenmei looked at the screen:
[3 Free Attribute Points available for distribution.]
[Please select the attribute you wish to strengthen.]
His Psychic Level increased through the experience gained in simulations, but his base physical stats relied on these Attribute Points.
The Astartes of the Thousand Sons were more than just powerful Psykers; their physical prowess was terrifying.
With them as his role models, Kenmei wasn't about to neglect his body. With 3 points available, he put 1 point into Strength and 1 point into Intelligence.
He left the remaining point unused and hit confirm.
"Enhancing..."
Intense pain shot through every part of his body. His muscles and bones were being forcibly strengthened.
The pain came fast and left just as quickly. Then, a strange white light enveloped his vision as his body entered a repair state.
It was all over in a flash, faster than Kenmei could process.
[Enhancement Complete]
"That's it?"
Still wanting more, Kenmei clenched his fist. It felt stronger. His mind felt sharper too.
Looking at his freshly updated stats, Kenmei thought maybe dumping all three points into one stat at once would have been more exciting.
Strength: 5
Intelligence: 9
Charisma: 7
Luck: 2
His maximum Mana had increased to 90. And because his Intelligence had gone up, his completely empty mana pool instantly refilled to the max.
This was thanks to Kenmei's innate talent:
[Psychic Affinity]
Level: Lv.1
Effect: When the host's Intelligence increases, Mana is instantly fully restored.
Given his regeneration rate of 9 points per hour, refilling 80 mana normally took nearly 9 hours. It was agonizingly slow. But by adding a stat point, he could refill instantly.
He was basically a mage in an RPG. Mana was his blue bar, and Attribute Points were like full-restore potions.
That was why Kenmei saved that last point.
It was like having a second mana bar in reserve.
This greatly eased his "range anxiety." He was the type of guy who felt uncomfortable leaving the house without a fully charged phone. Facing a mana bar that hadn't even hit triple digits gave him zero sense of security.
There was another feature of the [Warhammer Simulator] that Kenmei found incredibly useful.
The Inventory.
It started with 30 slots, each 5 cubic meters in size. He could spend Points to expand the number and size of slots. It could only store inanimate objects, not living beings with consciousness.
One of his rewards from the second simulation was automatically bound to him, but the other one was stored here.
The giant beast lurking in his shadow earlier, when Sakura tried to attack him, was the effect of that bound item.
It was a blood-red, token-like object engraved with the roaring phantom of a terrifying wolf's head.
[The Eternal Hunt]
Origin: Realm of Khorne
Quality: Silver
Type: Insignia
Durability: None
Effect: Summons a legion of Flesh Hounds, ready to obey the host at any time.
Max Summon Limit: 5
Details: Upon use, up to 5 Flesh Hounds can be summoned for combat. Summoning consumes Mana.
The first Flesh Hound consumes 0 Mana for the first 10 minutes (If recalled, it enters a 24-hour cooldown). Afterward, it consumes 10 Mana per minute.
The second Hound costs 60 Mana.
The third costs 120 Mana.
The cost doubles for each subsequent Hound.
Tip: Flesh Hounds are absolutely loyal, possess independent consciousness, can operate alone or in packs, and can execute complex commands.
Score: 500 Points (Silver-grade items range from 300-500 points).
Description: They are the Blood God's most loyal servants, hounds of slaughter that seek death. Taking lives tirelessly is their instinct.
"Trust me, no one wants to face the Blood God's most brutal creations."
—From the missing Librarian, Agapemacus.
Kenmei was shocked when he got this item because it came with a little "gift card" from the Simulator.
Written in terrifying, ominous Daemon script:
"A blessing from the Blood God for your slaughter."
Kenmei was stunned. Such a good deal?
"I kill his kids, and I get a reward?"
Well then, next time, the more the merrier.
In the [Defense of ASH-3], Kenmei, as the "Gore Hound," had slaughtered 120 different units of Khorne's own army.
This item had incredibly high compatibility with Kenmei because his simulation role was an Alpha—a leader of the pack.
Flesh Hounds naturally felt an affinity and obedience toward him. Normally, the item would charge mana from the first summon.
But because of his affinity, the effect changed: The first Hound was free for the first ten minutes.
Without this, summoning one Hound would cost 60 Mana, leaving Kenmei with only 30.
Now, for those first ten minutes, Kenmei could summon two Flesh Hounds for a total cost of only 60 Mana.
As for summoning all five? That wasn't even worth thinking about right now.
0 + 60 + 120 + 240 + 480 = 900 Mana.
This free-for-ten-minutes Flesh Hound lurking in his shadow was ready to tear apart anything that threatened its master.
That was a bonus surprise. The main prize of this simulation was the brass collar currently around Sakura's neck.
[Collar of Khorne]
Origin: Realm of Khorne
Quality: Bronze
Type: Functional Equipment
Durability: 98/100 (Repairable with Points)
Effect: Suppresses Psychic Energy (Below Theta Grade), Grants immunity to Psychic Attacks (Below Theta Grade).
Score: 270 Points (Bronze-grade items range from 100-300 points).
Description: Infused with the blood of Psykers, the Blood God's rage fuels the forges beneath the Brass Throne. The resulting Collar of Khorne absorbs energy from the Warp, nullifying all forms of psychic attacks.
This thing could suppress even Kenmei's psychic power, let alone Cursed Energy.
Getting two items from Khorne's realm in a single simulation? Kenmei's luck was god-tier.
Just as Kenmei was about to head upstairs, he heard the doorbell ringing frantically.
DING! DING! DING!
It was relentless, almost hateful. Someone was mashing the button like they wanted to break it.
A thought struck him. He checked his phone and instantly panicked.
"I'm dead! I'm dead! I'm so dead!"
Kenmei shouted a quick goodbye to Sakura and sprinted out of the basement.
"Sis, I gotta go!"
