Read First (Important)

Hey guys!

Zeenon here.

Some of you might recognize me from my previous fic, while others may have stumbled onto this one purely out of interest, but either way, you're here now, and I genuinely hope you stick around.

As you probably gathered from the synopsis, this fic follows Abhay, a boy who simply wants to become a cricketer. That's the core of the story. Nothing more, nothing less. But before you dive in, there are a few important things I want to clarify.

First, this is not an edgy revenge fic.

The overall tone of the story is positive. Yes, Abhay will face setbacks, but they will mostly be within the game itself, not in life. I'm honestly tired of fics where the MC is dragged through endless suffering for little to no payoff. You won't find that here. So if you enjoy watching protagonists suffer just for the sake of it… this fic probably isn't for you.

Now, about the family background.

Abhay's family is rich from the start, and they'll continue to grow richer as the story progresses. However, the MC himself will not be focused on business. He might casually drop an idea once in a while, but he won't be running companies or becoming an ultra-billionaire at eighteen. That kind of subplot just distracts from the real focus of this fic: Cricket and having fun.

So if you came here expecting a business mogul MC, well… tsk tsk. Hard luck.

Because his family is well-off, Abhay will have connections, though not god-tier ones, at least not in the beginning. This means you also won't see overused tropes like selectors ignoring him to favor their own sons despite Abhay clearly being better. His journey will be relatively smooth, but only because he has the skills to back it up, not because the world bends over for him.

Now, the system.

This won't be a template system, and Abhay won't be a carbon copy of any real cricketer. He'll become his own player. The system itself is intentionally simple, with no stat dumping and no instant power-ups. It grants passive skills from time to time, skills that grow with him.

No 150 km/h deliveries at age twelve. He'll have the potential, but he'll still need training, matches, and experience to actually use it.

The system isn't the main focus of the fic. It stays in the background. important, but not overpowering or forgotten.

As for romance, let me be very clear.

NO HAREM.

One girl, sweet romance, happy ending.

If that's not your thing… well, you've been warned.

Next on the list would be pacing; the story would be pretty fast-paced till he reaches state cricket; after that, I'll start slowing down a bit. There won't be one continuous cricket after another either; there will be some fun moments, some family time, and the like. I hope you're okay with that.

Also, I think it would be better to say this now: the world would be AU (Alternate Universe). This is because I'd be making some changes in the world, and instead of explaining myself every time, I'll just say this once: the world will be an AU.

One last thing about writing philosophy.

I've been writing for almost a year now, and there's one lesson I've learned the hard way: listen to readers, but don't write the story as per their wishes. That always leads to disaster. I'll ask for your opinions, and I'll definitely consider your thoughts on major decisions, but the final call will always be mine, because I have to look at the story as a whole, not just individual scenes.

That's all for now.

If there's anything else important, I'll mention it in future chapters. Also, please make sure to read the author notes at the end of chapters; they're there for a reason.

One more thing.

I'll only start advanced chapters on Patreon after seeing how the fic performs on Webnovel. Once there's a solid reader base, I'll move forward with that.

Hope you enjoy the story, and don't be stingy with power stones, comments, reviews, and collections.

Bye!
