In the Demon Slayer world, aside from compound drugs that prevented him from splitting apart, there was almost no way to stop Muzan from escaping like this.

"Though we do not know who accomplished this, let us offer our gratitude to that unknown hero," Kagaya said softly.
At the same time, demons across the land disintegrated into ash. All of them had been created by Muzan, their fates bound to his.
The Demon Slayer swordsmen broke down in tears. A thousand years of perseverance and sacrifice had not been in vain.
