Chapter 2 - Chapter 1. The Survival

The morning was normal, as if nothing could go wrong, but the day was going to be a nightmare to many. Suddenly, many people burst inside the Six sigil fire line residence and started cutting everything that came into their way. Men, women, children, everything....and their aim was to destroy that beautiful and peaceful place that once resided hundreds of families in it.

Fen Xiaojin was standing in the courtyard when her mother reached her.

"Run," her mother whispered, blood already staining her sleeve. "Do not look back. Do not come for us. Run."

Fen Xiaojin shook her head, tears blurring her vision. "Mother..."

Her mother's hand forcing her away, tears falling continuesly from her eyes. "If you stay, they will see you. If they see you, our flame truly dies. Run for us Xiaojin, Run."

She ran, as far as she could.

Barefoot and Crying.

Her small body tearing through ash and smoke as the sounds of her home being erased followed behind her.

She did not stop until her lungs burned and the world became silent.

When she returned, it was night.

The valley was empty.

She walked through the ruins of what had been her entire world, her feet sinking into cooling ash. One by one, she found them, elders who had taught her, cousins who had laughed with her, her mother lying beneath a broken pillar, eyes still open, as though searching for her.

Fen Xiaojin fell to her knees.

She looked around, there was no one left to help her mourn. She hugged her mother screamed, cried, begged for them to come back, but who can bring back the people who are already gone?

So she did the only thing she could.

She dug each person's grave using the only weapon she could find nearby, her father's sword.

Through earth and stone, she buried every single one of them. She placed them gently into the ground, whispering their names so they would not be forgotten, even if Heaven pretended they had never existed.

When she finished, the valley was silent forever.

To the world, the Six-Sigil Fire Line had vanished without a trace.

And so had Fen Xiaojin.

Carrying grief heavier than any cultivation, she left the valley, looking back once again before leaving and climbed toward a mountain that scraped the sky, a place known only in old myths as Youming mountain. There, where spiritual energy shattered and divine senses could not reach, she made her home.

At the time, when Fen Xiaojin reached the mountain, the cold snowfall took place, cutting through her skin and being able to freeze one's life. She looked up in the sky and said,

"The moon is as shiny as a pearl tonight,

The cold breeze is flowing by.

When a man holds an icy mountain in his heart,

What can a snowy winter do to him?"

That night, she collapsed in the snow and that was when she thought, "Maybe, this is my end. Freezing to death in the snow."

And that's how, she closed her eyes. With her blurry vision, she saw someone standing there in front of her holding an umbrella.

The very next morning, the sunlight was filtering through the window, Fen Xiaojin was struggling to open her eyes, putting a hand over her eyes to adjust her vision.

After she adjusted her vision, she looked at her hands, her surrounding and thought, "I am still alive?"

She found herself in a warm place. A residence of a middle aged man wearing white clothes and a white ribbon in his hair.

Fen Xiaojin sat up quickly and asked him, "W..who are you?"

He smiled and said, "Calm down little girl, I mean no harm. I saw you yesterday freezing in the snow so I brought you here."

Fen Xiaojin stood up, bowed in respect and asked, "May I know your name, sir?"

The man smiled, put the stuff in his hands aside and said, "My name is Yu Wuyan."

Fen Xiaojin looked up, surprised, "Yu Wuyan? Medicine deity from the healer valley?"

The man nodded and smiled, "Yes, that's me."

Fen Xiaojin stood up and said, "But-"

The man cut his words and said, smiling as if those rumours didn't matter to him. "Yes, according to them I died in the war against the healer valley?"

Fen Xiaojin looked down and nodded, "I am sorry."

The man turned and said, "If you are actually sorry, why don't you be my disciple?"

Fen Xiaojin looked up, surprised, "Your disciple?"

The man nodded, "Do you accept?"

Fen Xiaojin knelt in front of him and bowed deeply, "I accept you as my master."

The man smiled and said, "Rise, drink this soup. You still need to heal."

She stood up and sat on the bed, where she was laying before.

Her master poured soup in a bowl and handed it to her. She took it and looked up at him.

He stood straight and said, "You are still weak and can't control your powers. You need to practice your breathing and level up your cultivation."

She nodded and drank the soup slowly, her master sat beside her and looked at her softly.

"Little girl, you didn't tell me your name?"

She looked up and put down the bowl of the soup and stood up to bow, "I am Fe.... *She hesitated for a moment and then trusted him to tell her name* ....Fen Xiaojin, a disciple of Six sigil fire line."

Her master smiled, "Fen Xiaojin...." He nodded.

She looked at his expression, confused, "Master, Are you not going to kill me?"

Her master looked at her and chuckled, "Why would I kill you?"

Fen Xiaojin looked at him and said, "They say that I should be dead to bring back the peace to the world."

Her master smiled and shook his head.

"Sit first."

She sat as instructed.

Her master looked out at the tree, the weather was perfect for a sunny day, a light breeze flowing by, the leaves on the trees flowing in the direction of the wind.

"What could you possibly do that can destroy this beautiful world?"

She looked outside and then her master looked at her. "Those people out there are greedy for power."

Fen Xiaojin looked at her master, "Greedy?"

Her master nodded, "You are meant to be the mightiest of them all in future and they want you to disappear, so they can continue to rule the world."

Fen Xiaojin looked down and then up at her master, "So, that means, the wrong ones are them?"

Her master nodded, "Look at me," He pointed towards himself. "They managed to convince the whole world that I was a threat to the world. How can someone who practiced medicine for his whole life just to save others be a threat to the world?"

Fen Xiaojin nodded, tears welling up in her eyes, "They destroyed my whole clan...I'm the only one left."

Her master put a hand on her head and she looked up, "Don't worry, people's good time doesn't stay for long, how long will the bad one stay?" The master sighed and stood up. "You are still a child. First, focus on your recovery and level up your cultivation."

Fen Xiaojin smiled and her master turned to look at her and said, "Now, drink the soup before it cools down."

Fen Xiaojin nodded and started drinking the soup.

Her master looked out and sighed,

"The world is still in chaos,

People's minds are being manipulated.

I hope in the future a hope comes out,

And bring back the peace to the world."

Outside, the wind was flowing against green trees and the sun was shining brightly in the sky, inside two souls were present wishing for the future to be peaceful instead of another blood war.
