Chapter 11 - Chapter 11 The Initial Three: Charizard, Pikachu... and the Future Boss!

After Blue and Gary made their choices, a Charmander was surprisingly left over, which was somewhat unexpected for Ash... "Ash, don't you like Charmander?" Noticing Ash's hesitation, Nanami asked curiously.

"No... I like it very much."

Of course, he liked Charmander. This line was the official favorite, one of the only two XY branch Mega Evolutions, and only the idiot passersby in the original series would abandon it.

However, if he were to catch one, Ash's first choice would definitely have to be his fated Charizard.

As for this one... should he take it too and form a Double Dragon Tactic with Charizard?

"Nanami Sister, I want to know... if I take Charmander, what will happen to the fourth child?" After a moment of thought, Ash decided to ask about the Laboratory's solution first.

What if there was a win-win option... "You mean the child named Daisuke? Since he was late, he'll just have to wait until next time..."

"I've decided! I'll take Charmander!" Hearing the name Nanami mentioned, Ash grabbed the Poké Ball directly without waiting for her to finish speaking!

Just ask, what is a sudden turn of events?

Daisuke... So the fourth child who was late was actually the guy who abandoned Charmander in the original story!

Doesn't that mean... the one currently inside this Poké Ball is the future Charizard?!

At this moment, Ash was determined. Whether that child shared the same name or not, he absolutely had to take this Charmander!

"Please take care of me, Charmander." Ash released his partner and smiled, extending his hand to it.

"Lee~" Charmander looked back at Ash spiritedly, seemingly sensing his current emotions.

(If you really are Charizard, then let's reach the peak together!)

Ash wished in his heart.

Their hands met, and an unbreakable bond would be forged at this moment!

"Since you have all made your choices, take your Pokémon pokédexes and Poké Balls." Seeing that the three had finished choosing, Nanami handed them three Kanto pokédexes and five Poké Balls each.

These were clearly prepared with care by her; she even used red, green, and Blue colors to differentiate the pokédexes.

Notably, one of Gary's five balls showed obvious signs of use.

"Make sure to keep these safe... though you'll probably be using the Poké Balls very soon." Nanami instructed with a smile, knowing that other partners were waiting for them outside the door.

"Thank you, Nanami Sister~" *2

"Thanks, Sis~"

"Oh, Ash, when you travel to Saffron City, you need to make a trip to Silph Co." Oak reminded Ash at this point. "The President of Silph Co. has been asking for input on the development of subsequent games. I think it's better if you talk to him directly from now on."

"I understand." Ash nodded. Saffron City and Silph Co. were indeed mandatory stops on his itinerary.

His years of preparation before the journey naturally involved more than just physical training and courting partners; some side industries were also key areas of development.

As a pirated software developer/programmer who mastered various Pokémon settings and parameters, developing a series of Pokémon games should be quite reasonable, right~

Based on the information from the Pokémon pokédex, importing parameters like base stats and abilities, and then writing a few lines of code to create a script is not a problem at all.

The rest, naturally, is to find partners in Oak's name for formal research, development, and sales.

The reason Oak went to Silph Co. a few years ago was precisely to discuss cooperation for the Pokémon game.

By the time Ash started his journey, the game had already been released up to its second generation—Pokémon Johto. Aside from not introducing legendary pokémon parameters and slight plot modifications, it was almost identical to the game in his previous life.

Anyway, there's no GF in this world, and no one will send Ash a lawyer's letter.

It can be said that thanks to this game series, both Professor Oaks Laboratory and Ash himself have made a fortune.

Moreover, many professionals have discovered that besides entertainment, this game can even be used as a reference for real-life Pokémon breeding and battles!

Parameters like base stats can accurately reflect a Pokémon's strength, the series of tactics derived from abilities are widely praised, and the leveling and TM system have pointed a clear path for Trainers, who no longer have to blindly choose moves by trial and error.

Since the game's release, the overall skill level of Trainers in the Kanto region has significantly improved, a delightful change that has made the high-ranking officials of the Kanto League beam with joy.

Lance even specially sent a banner to Oak, inscribed with eight large characters: 'Education through Entertainment, Meritorious in Kanto'~

However, Silph Co. wanting to discuss follow-up plans now probably means they haven't sorted out the pokédex copyright, so they're unsure.

The Kanto and Johto games are already done; the next new release would have to be Hoenn, and a complete regional pokédex for other regions isn't that easy to get.

Ash really needs to discuss this with them properly.

And while Ash and Oak were excitedly discussing game matters, a strange glint secretly appeared in Blue's eyes.

Silph Co., that's also a place she cares deeply about... "It's getting late, you should set off quickly... I'll be waiting for your good news at the laboratory!" Oak finally wished the three farewell, watching them leave the laboratory... "Oak, where's my Pokémon? Give me my Pokémon quickly!" And just as they left, a sharp-featured fellow finally rushed over in a flurry, passing Ash by chance.

The familiar attire and annoying expression from his memory, Ash wouldn't mistake him for anyone else~

Taking Charmander was the right choice. Otherwise, should he have watched it be taken away by this guy, only to risk being abandoned again?!

Ash had no desire to bother with an NPC like Daisuke, who was highly likely to turn into a scumbag. He, Gary, and Blue arrived at the intersection near the laboratory, and a whistle summoned several Pokémon already waiting nearby.

"Nido~", "Ha!"

Nidoran♀, who had grown into a big child, rubbed against Blue's feet for a long time, not even having time to greet Bulbasaur before eagerly asking Blue to capture her into a Poké Ball.

Gary, on the other hand, used his used Poké Ball to directly capture the Scyther that flew to his side.

That was a Pokémon that had been with him since childhood; they had even traveled to the Johto region together for training.

As for Ash, there were two Pokémon waiting for him.

"Pikachu, Kangaskhan, let's go together~" Ash took out two Poké Balls and successfully captured these two partners who had been with him the longest and were the closest to him.

Pikachu was undoubtedly Pikachu, and for Ash to capture it with his own hands now was certainly a unique experience.

As for Kangaskhan, it was a medium-sized Kangaskhan that had not yet fully shed its infant form.

It was Pikachu's childhood playmate. Pikachu, when it was still a Pichu, coincidentally met Kangaskhan and was later adopted by Kangaskhan's mother, living with the Kangaskhan clan.

They later met Ash, who played with them and trained them to leave their mother and act independently, thereby helping to relieve the Kangaskhan mother's stress.

Ultimately, he earned the Kangaskhan mother's trust, and she entrusted both children to him!

Thus, Charizard, Pikachu, and the future ruler of a generation... Ash's initial three were simply too luxurious~
