Fade's POV
My name is Fade Crest , the one destined to be the protagonist.
I was recently selected by the prestigious Freya Academy. You're probably envious, right?
Let me introduce myself properly.
I'm the only son of an ordinary family, but I've always had big dreams. I want to become powerful and awake. Ever since I was born, my luck has been amazing. I always get what I want… as long as I put in some effort.
When my acceptance letter arrived, my parents were overjoyed. They packed gifts for me and even accompanied me to the station. My little sister came too, waving at me until the train disappeared.
After a long journey, I reached my dorm room.
It was luxurious , unbelievably so. Every facility I could imagine was there, polished and high-class. My first month was amazing.
I slept most of the time and barely trained my newly awakened magic…
But that's fine. If I get serious, I can catch up easily.
At the entrance ceremony, I was overwhelmed. So many famous awakenings were present , including Raji, my idol since childhood.
I shouted at the top of my lungs to get her attention.
And I know she noticed me. Her eyes were on me for a few seconds. Definitely.
After the ceremony, everyone headed to their classes. I found my seat quickly. The classroom atmosphere felt calm and peaceful, just like my hometown. A warm breeze drifted through the window.
I'd stayed up all night playing games on my phone, so I felt sleepy. I figured I'd take a short nap and wake up when the teacher arrived.
But that day, my luck betrayed me.
Ms. Anna caught me sleeping.
I became the class laughingstock. Since I was also ranked last, some bullies started targeting me.
At first, I thought it would stop after a few days.
It didn't.
When I tried fighting back, the bullying only got worse. I started regretting how I wasted my first month. Now, whenever I tried to train, they would interrupt and beat me while hurling insults.
I became depressed.
I even tried reporting it to the teachers. They dismissed it, saying it was my fault for being weak.
That broke something inside me.
Four months passed like that. I couldn't train properly. I couldn't improve.
My parents kept sending letters asking about my health, but I couldn't tell them the truth. They'd only worry.
When Ms. Anna announced the exams, I felt true despair for the first time.
I even considered leaving the academy.
Then,
A light shone before my eyes.

I froze in shock.

The bullies got irritated and started beating me , again.
I tried to fight back, but there were too many of them. I thought someone would help since we were in class…
No one did.
Some even laughed.
I lost consciousness.
When I woke up, I was lying in the healer's office.
A surge of anger filled my chest.
I clenched my fists.
"I'll beat you all one day… I'll make you beg for forgiveness. Just wait, you bastards."
The door opened.
An unbelievably beautiful girl entered and sat beside my bed.
"Hello, classmate Fade. I'm Kira. I brought you here. Are you feeling better?" she asked gently.
"Y-Yeah… I-I'm f-fine now," I stammered.
"Good. I need to prepare for the exams, so I'll leave now."
"Y-Yeah… b-bye…"
She left.
But I remained stunned by her beauty.
Now that I'm favored by the heavens… I'll become strong. And when I do, she'll be mine. Anyone who gets in my way… I'll destroy them.
