Chapter 7 - When Willpower Defies The Storm

The Journey Beyond The Absolute

When Willpower Defies The Storm

As the morning sun delicately pierced through the gaps in the curtains, I stirred awake, the warmth of its light gently coaxing me out of my dreams. With a groggy stretch, I rolled out of bed, the comfort of my blankets relinquishing me to the responsibilities of the day. As I slipped on my clothes, I meticulously moved through my daily routine, a series of small but intentional actions that laid the foundation for the training ahead. I brushed my teeth, splashed cold water on my face to banish the remnants of sleep, and took a moment to gather my thoughts. Today was not just any day, it was a day for growth and challenges.

Once I was dressed and ready, I made my way to the front door, feeling the anticipation course through me. As I stepped outside, I turned to greet Kael Ryn, who stood patiently just outside, his silhouette silhouetted against the soft morning light.

"Ah, just on time, are you ready to begin the next training session?" he asked in a casual tone, his demeanor relaxed yet carrying an undeniable air of authority.

Taking a deep breath to steady my resolve, I replied with an earnest calmness, "Yes, Sensei."

"Very well then, follow me," Kael Ryn instructed, casually walking past a cluster of bushes that seemed mystically vibrant in the morning sun. Eager to impress and learn, I followed closely behind him, my senses heightened as I absorbed the world around me.

Suddenly, Kael Ryn paused, turning to face the bushes with a knowing smirk. "I know youre there, come out now."

A moment later, a figure emerged from the foliage with a grin that juxtaposed the nature surrounding us. "Guess I really cant fool you, huh?" he said, stepping into the light. He was clad in a striking black hoodie and fitted black pants, his long black hair contrasting sharply, and his piercing blue eyes seemed to glimmer with mischief as he stepped into the golden morning glow.

My eyes widened in shock as I quickly cautioned, "Watch out, Sensei, this one is different, he can manipulate the weather."

With a wicked grin, the newcomer replied, "Youre very perceptive, you noticed that just after the moon lit up. Very clever of you."

Kael Ryn maintained his cool composure. "Stay calm. Theres always a weakness you can exploit."

Taking a moment to regain my composure, I nodded in agreement. "Yes, Sensei," I replied, determination coursing through my veins.

The mysterious figure chuckled darkly, "The first person Ill be taking on is you." With that declaration, he rushed at me, his fist crackling with a charge of lightning, a fearsome intimidation that filled the air with electricity.

"Your speed wont faze me," I declared, showcasing my focus. In one swift motion, I deftly grabbed his shoulder, redirecting his hand away from my body just in time to evade the storm he summoned.

"Who will emerge victorious, weather manipulation or pure willpower?" he asserted confidently.

"Its fine, I can speed up, too." he shot back, quickly striking with a knee charged with wind, aimed directly at my midsection.

"Predictable, youll have to do better if you aim to throw me off balance," I replied, effortlessly blocking his thrust. Yet, the sheer force of the wind behind his attack sent me reeling backward. I hit the ground but quickly recovered, executing a graceful 280 degree twirl that landed me back on my feet silently.

Kael Ryn observed the unfolding battle with a flicker of intrigue in his eyes. "How fascinating," he mused quietly.

With manic energy radiating from him, the assailant grinned wider. "Im just warming up." He unleashed a relentless barrage of punches aimed at my chest, each blow seemingly fueled by a desire to overwhelm me.

"Your strength is impressive," I managed as each impact reverberated, sending me crashing through several mountains, blood trickling down my chest from the brutal collisions. But even as I was pushed to my limits, I rose again, seizing his neck and lifting him effortlessly into a knee strike that I executed with a vigor that sparked my spirit. I landed softly on the ground, turning to confront him. "Is that all youve got?"

He caught my knee with one hand, his expression shifting to one of determination. Raising both hands into the air, he began to coalesce a massive sphere of wind and lightning. "This is your end." he bellowed, launching the thunderous fusion toward me, resulting in a cataclysmic explosion that threatened to rip the very fabric of reality apart.

As the blinding light dissipated, an eerie silence enveloped the battlefield.

"Silence…" I heard him mutter, his grin unwavering.

With a confident shift, he turned toward Kael Ryn. "Youre next."

Kael Ryn responded with a nonchalant grin of his own, "I wouldnt count him out just yet."

The assailants expression twisted in confusion. "How do you know that?"

"Just a feeling," Kael Ryn replied casually, though uncertainty lingered in his tone.

Then, without warning, the very ground beneath us began to tremble ominously. A presence approached, a sensation of dread and awe that even the bravest could sense. Suddenly, a brilliant blood red light surged forth, enveloping our surroundings in an eerie hue that blurred the line between reality and nightmare.

Kael Ryn maintained a soft smile. "Here he comes," he said knowingly.

As the surrounding area began to shatter and distort, the cause of the upheaval became clear. Kael Ryn and the mysterious attacker exchanged guarded glances, their voices synchronized in astonishment as they questioned, "He really did survive…?"

In a grand display, as the crimson radiance faded, I emerged from the depths of an unfathomable crater. A majestic blood red aura surrounded me, lending an almost ethereal quality to my battered form. I lay on the ground, my body a tapestry of broken bones and flowing blood, yet within me burned an unyielding will, a fire that would not be extinguished by pain or fear. Slowly, I rise from the depths of despair, casting an unwavering gaze upon my opponent. "I must say, Ive never been pushed this far before. Youve earned my gratitude, had you not challenged me so fiercely, I might never have discovered this surge of power within," I declared, raising my arms skyward, embracing the energy that coursed through me. "But sorry, your time ends here."

Kael Ryn laughed heartily, his voice echoing through the chaos. "What kind of fool thanks an enemy? Foolish indeed."

"I may be foolish, but my will refuses to break." I declared defiantly, assuming a fighting stance, my energy crackling in the air.

With intensity animating my spirit, I blasted forward in an instant, launching a devastating punch aimed directly at his gut, my focus unwavering.

He doubled over, spitting out blood as surprise washed over his features. "Hes too fast, how do I react to this?" he thought desperately, gripping at the remnants of his power, already feeling the tide turn against him.

Kael Ryn observed the unfolding battle with keen interest. "Now it makes sense," he said thoughtfully, "when he unleashed that attack, it was so incredibly powerful that he must have felt utterly overwhelmed. Yet, at that moment, something within him surged. His body, together with his unyielding will to succeed, reacted fiercely to his deepseated desire to triumph. This wasnt mere luck, he survived because his aversion to defeat was greater than the fear of being overrun. Its clear to me now that his body was driven by that intense willpower, a raw force that Im witnessing in this very moment. But I can see it too, his body is certainly bearing the brunt of that last assault. How long can he maintain this level form? Its surely just a matter of time before his physical form begins to falter."

With calm determination, I taunted my opponent. "Is that all youve got?" I said, gripping him firmly by the face and driving a fierce knee into his gut.

His eyes widened in shock, reflecting the realization of my strength. "Hes overwhelmingly powerful, darn it." Blood began to seep from his wound, yet he seemed unfazed as he clenched his fists in defiance, channeling his energy to reach his full potential. A vibrant red aura surrounded him, pulsating with intensity.

Kael Ryn observed this transformation with a blend of amusement and intrigue. "Look at him. His body and determination have adapted to augment the power behind his strikes, resulting in a transformation that mirrors his burgeoning strength. I cant even begin to predict who will emerge victorious now."

I remained poised, feeling the tension escalate. "Goodnight," I announced, as I seized him by the chest and hurled him into the air with all my might.

"No." he shouted, his fury igniting a fierce fire within him. "I refuse to be defeated by the likes of you." With agile precision, he spun to evade my strike, executing a daring 360 degree kick that propelled me through the very fabric of a nearby planet.

Kael Ryn chuckled, impressed. "It appears theyre evenly matched now. However, I can sense that both of them are approaching their physical limits. The outcome hinges on which one of them gives in first."

I gritted my teeth and called out, "Just go to sleep already." I lunged, capturing him by the face once more and slamming him against a nearby wall.

With a guttural scream that echoed through the expanse, he unleashed a powerful roar, expanding his energy to stretch across the vastness of space itself. "HAAAA."

Kael Ryn observed, intrigued. "Now this is interesting," he mused casually, taking in the sheer scale of the chaos unfolding.

Undeterred, I responded with steely resolve. "Nice try, but my aura protects me," I said, feeling the force of his explosion knock me back but not shatter my defense.

He, still simmering with ambition, said with a calm demeanor, "Youve certainly managed to ignite my interest."

As the adrenaline coursed through me, I found clarity amid the chaos. "I see you were wielding your anger as a weapon when you were capable of controlling it all along. But before we go any further, I must know your name. I need to know the name of my equal."

With a grin illuminating his face, he replied, "You truly have perspective. Feel free to call me Lucien, Lucien Morvane. And you?"

I asserted coolly, "Ather Vael."

Lucien nodded, respect evident in his eyes. "Youve earned my respect today. Its not often I find someone who can match my power like this."

I responded earnestly, "Similarly, the feeling is mutual."

With a smirk, Lucien raised the stakes. "Enough chitchat. Are you ready to bring this to a close or what?" He clenched his right fist, channeling a vast sphere of wind and lightning energy that enveloped the entire solar system in a vibrant display.

I grinned in agreement. "I couldnt agree more." I clenched my left fist and summoned a colossal blood red sphere of energy into existence, one that matched the scale of his own, covering the entirety of the solar system.

Kael Ryn commented casually, "It seems they are finally prepared to settle this once and for all. They are evenly matched, I genuinely cannot predict the victor."

No further words were needed. Without hesitation, we launched our titanic energy spheres at one another, resulting in a cataclysmic explosion that obliterated the entire solar system, erasing everything from existence.

Lucien Morvane lay on the ground, weakness setting in, and muttered breathlessly, "Man, youre just too much…" He crumpled, his red aura fading as he returned to his normal state.

I, too, felt my strength waning. "I cant keep this up any longer…" I followed suit, collapsing to the ground beside him, bloodied and fatigued.

Luciens voice, though weak, carried a hint of resignation. "Alright, I admit it, Ive lost. But dont think this means the end for me. Ill train, Ill grow stronger, and the next time we meet, Ill crush you," he declared, clenching his fists in determination.

As the adrenaline faded, I felt an overwhelming wave of satisfaction wash over me. "What is this overwhelming sensation coursing through me right now? It feels exhilarating to have emerged victorious."

Kael Ryn interjected casually, "Thats the joy of victory youre experiencing, happiness for finally achieving a hard fought win."

I glanced at him, panting. "You speak as if you know exactly what this feels like."

Kael Ryn replied, nonchalantly, "Perhaps I do."

Lucien leaned closer, brows knitting in realization. "More importantly, weve essentially obliterated the world of absolute matter. In fact, every world has ceased to exist because of us."

With a relaxed demeanor, Kael Ryn shrugged. "Oh, thats not an issue here."

I frowned, weakly asking, "What do you mean?"

Kael Ryn smiled, his confidence unwavering. "I have the ability to summon the goddess of the world of absolute. She can restore everything. It shouldnt pose a challenge for her in the least."

"Wait, hold on a second, so theres an actual god in this world? Why didnt you ever mention that before?" I stammer, my voice barely rising above a whisper. The revelation left me reeling, and every fiber of my being craved an explanation.

Kael Ryn, apparently unfazed by my astonishment, raises an eyebrow and leans back casually, "Well, you never asked," he replies, letting his hand linger in the air as if he were conducting an unseen orchestra. His nonchalant demeanor contrasts sharply with the whirlwind of thoughts racing through my mind.

"What are you doing?" I manage to ask, still feeling somewhat dazed by the implications of his words and the gravity of the situation.

Lucien Morvane, ever the mischievous one, flashes a grin that hints at his knowledge of whats about to unfold. "Yeah, what exactly are you up to, Kael?" he chimes in, clearly already aware of the unexpected twist hes orchestrating.

With a casual flick of his wrist, Kael murmurs something almost inaudible, and in that very instant, the air around us shimmers like the surface of a pond disturbed by a gentle breeze. A woman materializes before us, radiating an aura thats both captivating and awe inspiring. She stands tall, her striking features hinting at otherworldly beauty, long flowing hair cascades down her back like liquid silver, and her vibrant eyes hold the secrets of countless ages. The very essence of allure surrounds her, making it abundantly clear that she is no ordinary being.

"Who would have guessed there was actually a god residing in this realm?" I murmur in disbelief, my voice barely above a whisper as I look between Kael and Lucien, trying to process the enormity of what just happened.

The goddess surveys our small gathering, her expression a serene blend of authority and calm curiosity. "Which one of you summoned me?" she asks, her voice smooth and soothing, like a calm river flowing through a quiet forest.

"It was me," Kael replies with an air of casual confidence, as if invoking a god were the most mundane task in the world.

In unison, Lucien and I blurt out, "Just who is she?" Our voices overlap, a blend of awe and bewilderment lacing our words as we try to wrap our heads around this surreal encounter.

The goddess smiles gently, her voice echoing with a timeless quality, "Call me Aeona Axiom, the goddess of the absolute. I represent the pinnacle of all that is definitive and true." The weight of her introduction lingers in the air, deeply resonating within the very fabric of our reality.

Lucien breaks the momentary pause, gesturing toward the wreckage of our world with a hint of confidence in his voice, "He wants you to restore the world we destroyed."

Aeona Axiom nods in understanding, a faint smile dancing upon her lips. "Oh, thats quite simple for me," she asserts, as if the task is as light as a feather. With a swift snap of her fingers, an electrifying energy crackles in the air. In an instant, all the worlds we had ravaged are transformed, restored to their former glory. The colors regain their vibrancy, landscapes are reshaped, and life begins to blossom anew, as if the universe itself was rejoicing in this second chance.

As the extraordinary moment settles, Aeona Axiom surveys our astonished expressions with an amused twinkle in her eye. "Is there anything else you desire?" she inquires, her tone relaxed and almost playful.

Kael, still maintaining his laidback demeanor, shakes his head confidently. "No, that was all," he replies, seemingly unfazed by the enormity of what just transpired.

"Very well then, let me be on my way," she says, a delicate yawn escaping her lips. In a blink, she ascends gracefully into the sky, vanishing in a burst of astonishing speed that leaves us both speechless at her sheer power.
