Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: Na'er

Spirit Pagoda Headquarters.

Na'er sat on the carved railing, her toes swinging lightly.

Her silver hair brushed her shoulders in the cool breeze, and her purple eyes gazed eastward, as if reflecting the distant horizon where the sky met the sea.

"My Lady, the special soul tool train is waiting at Platform Seven," a Spirit Conduction Tower attendant's voice came through the morning mist, respectful yet not overstepping bounds.

Na'er immediately flipped over and jumped down, her pink dress accentuating her snow-white skin.

A soft smile still played on her lips, like a little fox just waking up. "Got it, thank you for your trouble."

That sweet thank you reached the attendant's ears, and he inexplicably trembled for a moment, then quickly bowed deeply in response, not daring to raise his head.

As she passed through the headquarters' main hall, Na'er's steps were light, her hair tips bouncing along.

Several young Spirit Conductors secretly glanced at her stunning beauty and those purple eyes. But they only dared to steal a glance.

No one dared to approach her for a conversation.

This seemingly sweet and cute girl was notoriously known as the "Little Demoness" for her disregard of rules within the Spirit Conduction Tower.

For instance, a Genius once wanted to challenge Na'er. Anyone with eyes could see this was a probe from a certain faction within the Spirit Conduction Tower.

There were too many Geniuses in the Spirit Conduction Tower, and resources were limited, so some people wanted to use this to test Na'er's talent and ability to better deal with her.

According to the "rules," Na'er should have defeated the opponent to prove herself, but she didn't do that.

Na'er couldn't be bothered with him; she went straight to her elder, pulling Leng Yaozhu into the fray to suppress him with power.

What probe, what doubts? If Na'er was unhappy, she would act cute and spoiled, asking her Master to wreck the situation.

Regarding this, Na'er would mutter something about using connections if you have them. Leng Yaozhu also doted on her, granting her every wish. She truly couldn't resist Na'er's pouting.

These past few years, Na'er has truly been lawless in the Spirit Conduction Tower, doing whatever she pleased.

Arriving at the soul tool train station, Na'er immediately spotted a fiery red figure.

She walked up, her voice sweet and soft: "Teacher, why are you here?"

"Hmph, still asking me why I'm here?" Leng Yaozhu's expression was displeased. "You're preparing for a long journey without a word. Do you even see me as your teacher?"

"Oh, I forgot!" Na'er hugged her teacher's arm, swaying back and forth. "Besides, you promised me you'd let me go back after three years."

"What do you mean 'let you go back'?" The little cotton jacket that had warmed her for three years now revealed her true colors, making Leng Yaozhu feel a bit emotional. "Is this a prison?"

"Hehe." Realizing her slip of the tongue, Na'er stuck out her tongue and began to act cute and foolish.

"Alright, alright." Leng Yaozhu sighed. "I'm not here to stop you. After all, my disciple is going on a long journey; I, as her teacher, must be present, right?"

She wasn't overly worried about Na'er's safety. She knew Na'er was going to find Arthur. So, all she needed to do was inform Agravaine to help look after her.

Within the Federation, Dragon Sparrow Douluo was most famous for his ability to control region-wide detection. Even if Leng Yaozhu's cultivation was higher than his, she wouldn't dare say she was stronger than him in this aspect.

"Thank you, Teacher!" Hearing that Leng Yaozhu wasn't there to stop her.

Na'er immediately let go and skipped into the soul tool train.

"Goodbye, Teacher!"

Leaving Leng Yaozhu standing alone, like an empty-nester.

The compartment of the soul tool train was simply decorated, with only one window facing the scenery.

The train started almost silently, and the buildings outside rapidly receded. Soon, it left the inland and sped towards East Sea City.

Na'er leaned by the window, tapping the glass lightly with her fingertips, Arthur's image flashing through her mind.

Then came the message from Gu Yue.

She had already integrated the power of the Golden Dragon within her body, adjusting it to the most perfect and natural state.

Everything was ready.

"Golden Dragon King..."

...Today's class began Actual Combat training.

Wu Zhangkong's tone was cold: "You few have a common problem, which is a severe lack of Actual Combat experience and skills. This will be the focus of the upcoming Actual Combat class. I'm not referring to combat experience using your Martial Soul and Martial Soul Abilities; while you have deficiencies there, they aren't fatal. What you truly lack is basic combat ability when not using your Martial Soul."

"Arthur does very well in this aspect." Wu Zhangkong's tone shifted, and he said with a complex expression: "He has already surpassed me in this regard."

Hearing this, the others all looked at Arthur. They knew Arthur's Actual Combat ability was strong; after all, they had all experienced it.

He didn't even need his Martial Soul to deal with them; a single move or stance ended the battle. His suppressive power was too terrifying.

But they hadn't expected Wu Zhangkong to evaluate him so highly, claiming he was inferior.

"Actual Combat training is simple. I will suppress my cultivation to two rings, without using Martial Soul or Martial Soul Abilities. You will fight against me."

After speaking, Wu Zhangkong added: "Except for Arthur. After you all finish training, Arthur will fight me individually."

Tang Wulin and Xie Xie were already used to this. Wang Jinxi and Zhang Yangzi, however, were somewhat surprised.

"Teacher, since Arthur is so formidable, why not let him fight me and teach me a bit?" Gu Yue thought of an idea and immediately suggested: "We can't just let him wait on the side until we finish, can we?"

Wu Zhangkong gave Gu Yue a deep look, then remained silent for a moment before replying: "Alright, as long as he agrees."

The special training began. Tang Wulin and the other four fought against Wu Zhangkong.

Arthur and Gu Yue, meanwhile, went to the other side, facing each other.

"I've been specifically studying close-quarters combat recently. This time, I won't be subdued by a single move from you."

Gu Yue was referring to the incident where Arthur had defeated her with one move last time.

After a brief thought, Arthur hadn't paid much attention to that previous battle. He wasn't even sure if she had been acting.

Arthur also wasn't sure what Gu Yue's fighting style was.

Putting aside Elemental Power, would the Silver Dragon King know human close-quarters combat?

"Here I come."

As soon as her voice fell, Gu Yue's figure shot out like an arrow from a bowstring. Instead of a frontal attack, her footwork was peculiar, circling towards Arthur's left blind spot.

Her right hand formed a palm, striking towards his waist with a fierce gust of wind.

This was a weak point for human exertion, and she clearly had some understanding of vital points in basic combat.

Unfortunately, Arthur had no such thing as a blind spot; he could dodge even with his eyes closed.

With a slight half-step back of his left foot, Arthur's body twisted sideways at an incredible angle, precisely avoiding Gu Yue's palm strike.

At the same time, he bent his right elbow, accurately pressing it against the inside of Gu Yue's outstretched arm, moving so fast that only an afterimage remained.

Gu Yue felt a strange force transmit through her arm, instantly dissipating most of her strength.

Her heart tightened, and she immediately changed her move, her left hand seizing Arthur's elbow, attempting to use his momentum to pull him towards herself.

This series of movements was natural and fluid.

But Arthur merely flicked his wrist, smoothly slipping free from her grasp, while simultaneously hooking his right foot, precisely kicking Gu Yue's ankle, which was her supporting leg for power.

The force wasn't great, but it was enough to disrupt her balance.

Gu Yue stumbled and fell, and Arthur took the opportunity to pin her down, locking all her points of exertion.
