Chapter 26 - Chapter 26: Can’t Teach Him? I Don’t Believe It!

Teaching Karl didn't take long.

But afterward, Aldrich felt unbelievably weighed down.

It was the kind of feeling that—

like he'd gone seven rounds in one night.

No matter what he looked at, he had zero interest.

Even when other sorcerers greeted him, Aldrich could barely be bothered to respond.

Dragging heavy steps and an even heavier mood, Aldrich went straight to his immediate superior, Guanhe.

"Old Guan, I can't do this job anymore. I really can't."

"That kid Karl—I can't teach him."

Aldrich complained loudly.

But the expression on his face didn't work at all on Guanhe.

"Cut it out."

"With a genius disciple like that, you're probably smug as hell inside."

Guanhe spoke with disdain.

They'd been brothers for decades—how could he not know this guy?

"This time it's different. I seriously can't teach this kid anymore."

"You have no idea how freakish he is."

"His talent is way too high."

"He even improved Kamar-Taj's three foundational spells."

Aldrich looked like he was suffering.

"What nonsense are you talking about?"

Guanhe rolled his eyes.

Why were they called the three foundational spells?

Because they were Kamar-Taj's most stable, most basic, and easiest-to-learn spells.

In a sense, they were absolutely the cornerstone of Kamar-Taj.

These were spells personally set down by the Ancient One.

Improve them?

What kind of international joke was that?

"Don't you know these three foundational spells each have corresponding higher-tier spells?"

"How could the spell itself be improved?"

"I think you're spouting nonsense again."

Guanhe said scornfully.

"This time it's real. I have no reason to lie to you."

"My little stockpile has been completely squeezed dry by this kid."

Aldrich spoke in real pain.

He truly had nothing left to teach Karl.

After all—

being able to grasp the Mirror Dimension already made him far stronger than ordinary official sorcerers.

But in the end, he was still just an official sorcerer.

How could he possibly understand that many things?

He really had nothing left to teach.

If this continued, he'd start making things up.

Seeing Aldrich's expression, Guanhe still felt suspicious.

"What you're saying is true?"

"Why don't I believe it?"

"This kid's talent is really that good?"

Guanhe said.

"Heh. If you don't believe it, why don't you go see for yourself?"

"Karl is still practicing in the Mirror Dimension."

"You can go take a look and then arrange a suitable sensei for him."

Aldrich spoke with a mocking tone.

To be honest—

Aldrich felt that in the entirety of Kamar-Taj, aside from the Ancient One, no one was qualified to teach Karl.

Because this kid was simply too freakish.

But Guanhe didn't believe him.

He admitted Karl was indeed a genius.

If he developed normally, he'd become a Master Sorcerer sooner or later.

But Aldrich's description was way too exaggerated.

It sounded like Karl was the Ancient One's successor or something.

He didn't believe anyone could be that godlike.

After grumbling to himself, Guanhe spoke.

"Fine. Let's go take a look. I want to see for myself."

"I want to see just how extraordinary the kid you keep praising really is."

Guanhe snorted and led the way out.

Aldrich followed closely behind.

A Portal opened.

The two of them went straight into the Mirror Dimension.

But—

inside the Mirror Dimension, nothing seemed unusual at all. There was no sign of rampant destruction.

"This is the genius you're talking about?"

"Nothing happened here."

Guanhe glanced at Aldrich, with a hint of mockery in his eyes.

Clearly, watching an old friend embarrass himself made him quite happy.

"Heh."

Aldrich only sneered.

This uncultured guy had no idea how monstrous Karl really was.

"Karl?"

Aldrich shouted.

The space in front of them twisted, and Karl appeared directly beside them.

"Aldrich-sensei, Guanhe-sensei."

Karl greeted them with a low-key salute.

"What's going on here?"

Aldrich asked.

"Oh, I saw the damage here was kind of serious, so I restored it."

Karl said.

Guanhe, Aldrich: ???

Restored it?

Something that ridiculous was possible?

Yes, things in the Mirror Dimension could be restored.

But that was the result of natural energy slowly repairing them over time.

Manually restoring it—what was that supposed to mean?

Destroyed matter could be reconstituted?

You were really playing spells like a trick show now?

Aldrich took a deep breath and glanced at the stunned Guanhe.

A surge of pride rose in his chest.

See this clueless guy.

"Ahem. Karl, don't talk about that first."

"How far have you gotten with your Tao Mandalas?"

"Let Guanhe-sensei see it."

Aldrich said.

He'd already adapted.

Now he just wanted to see what expression Guanhe, this clueless guy, would make.

"Yes."

"I happened to gain something. I ask the two sensei to instruct me."

Karl said with a faint smile.

The next moment—

with a wave of his hand—

eight Tao Mandalas appeared in front of him.

Guanhe: ???

Aldrich sucked in a breath, then quickly adapted again.

Heh.

He was used to it. No way he was getting shocked again.

Just as Aldrich was feeling smug—

he saw the eight Tao Mandalas in front of Karl actually fuse together.

They fused.

They fused just like that.

Aldrich froze on the spot.

His mouth fell open, his eyes went wide—he looked exactly like an idiot.

Beside him, Guanhe's expression outright twisted.

What even was this?

How could Tao Mandalas fuse?

And it wasn't over.

Karl spread his hands—

and the fused, gigantic shield was grabbed directly into his hands.

He swung his arm.

That enormous shield was thrown out.

Like a weapon, it flew forward and slammed into a small hill.

Boom!

In the next instant—

a massive golden radiance burst forth.

That small hill exploded into nothingness, disappearing out of thin air.

Guanhe: ??????

What the hell?!

What was this?

Since when could Tao Mandalas explode?!

Was that even reasonable?

How could Tao Mandalas explode?!

Guanhe was completely dumbfounded.

This kid—

what kind of monster was he?

The same spell—how did it become so freakish when it was used by him?

What the hell happened to this world?

No wonder Aldrich couldn't teach him.

Guanhe felt like he couldn't teach him either!
