Chapter 7 - The observer

As I observed the changes, I felt genuinely satisfied.

From my perspective, the entire planet seemed to breathe differently. The Origin Energy flowed with greater stability, coursing through continents, oceans, and the deepest layers of the crust like a newly awakened circulatory system. Nothing lay beyond its reach. For now, my plans were progressing exactly as I had envisioned, and thanks to Genesis Records, they would not only remain on course but continue to refine themselves over time.

I was especially eager to see how the civilization of the Primordials would develop.

I had been careful with the knowledge I granted them. Only the basics: language, fundamental concepts, and a minimal framework that would allow them to think, learn, and grow on their own. I did not want them to become dependent on the system. That kind of reliance, tempting as it was, would become a serious obstacle to their ascension. Every excessive use of the system increased the cost they would have to pay in fate and fortune, and eventually, that would make their tribulations impossible to overcome.

The true trick lay in balance.

If they used the Genesis Records only as guidance—a compass pointing toward possible paths rather than delivering absolute answers—the cost would be almost insignificant compared to the knowledge gained. Learning through experience, reinforced by small hints from the system, was infinitely more valuable than receiving complete information without effort. Only those who understood this would reach truly extraordinary heights.

"Host," Elena's voice echoed, "what do you plan to do now?"

I reflected for a moment before answering.

"For now, I will simply observe," I replied. "I've already interfered too much."

It was not false modesty. Activating the Genesis Records was already an enormous intervention—far more than what most planets could ever accomplish.

"That would be the most prudent course," Elena responded. "Constant interference is not something a planet can sustain, even for you, Host."

I nodded inwardly.

To be honest with myself, what intrigued me the most were not the Primordials… but the animals and plants.

They, too, were my creations. And yet, the contrast between their evolution and that of the Primordials was unmistakable. While the Primordials possessed intelligence, self-awareness, and the ability to comprehend the system, beasts and flora followed a far more instinctive path.

And yet, no less fascinating.

The Origin Energy that now permeated the planet had not appeared out of nowhere. It was created through the fusion of three distinct energies: mana, aura, and soul energy.

Mana was the most well-known across the universe. Many civilizations used it to create mages. This energy strengthened the mind, expanded perception, and allowed manipulation of the elemental laws of the world. Through mana, living beings could cast spells, alter their surroundings, and access arcane knowledge.

Aura, on the other hand, was the foundation of warriors. It enhanced the physical body, strengthening muscles, bones, and reflexes. It allowed beings to break natural limits, achieve impossible speeds, and endure damage that would destroy an ordinary creature.

Soul energy was the rarest—and most dangerous—of the three.

It did not merely strengthen the soul; it touched the very essence of one's existence. Those who managed to cultivate it could resist mental attacks and develop heightened intuition and awareness. Many became extremely difficult to kill, as they could instinctively sense and avoid situations that would otherwise prove fatal. However, manipulating soul energy without proper knowledge often led to the complete annihilation of the individual.

Origin Energy was the perfect synthesis of all three.

Because of this, even the animals were beginning to change. Beasts that once relied solely on claws and fangs now developed tougher bodies, sharpened senses, and, in some cases, the beginnings of intelligence. Some plants began storing energy within their roots and fruits, turning into invaluable resources for the future.

This planet was drifting further and further away from the ordinary.

A place where new laws were slowly being written, where every creature—aware or not—was walking toward a destiny the universe rarely allowed.

And I…

I would observe.

I would wait.

Because if I wish to survive and protect myself, I will need them.
