The Distant Light
From far away, in the middle of the darkness, a small light was glowing. It looked soft and calm, as if someone had lit a tiny lamp there. The traveler stopped. He felt that this light might be the end of his tired journey.
"Let me go a little closer," he thought.
With every step forward, the light began to change. The gentle yellow slowly turned red. The air grew hot, and the ground felt alive beneath his feet. Still, he walked on—because from a distance, the light had promised safety.
Then he reached near.
It was not a lamp.
It was a massive lava flow—fire burning like a living river. Flames rolled slowly, and the earth trembled with their power. What looked peaceful from afar revealed its true, terrifying strength up close.
The traveler stepped back—not in fear, but with understanding.
He realized that not every light means peace. Some lights are beautiful only from a distance. When you come closer, their story changes.
Looking back one last time, he smiled softly.
