Chapter 4 - Chapter 4 Our day

Jay's POV (The Next Morning)

Morning came faster than I expected. I barely slept, my thoughts drifting back to his words again and again.

I got ready quietly, choosing something simple and comfortable. My hands trembled just a little as I tied my hair, my heart already racing.

At exactly ten in the morning, a car stopped outside.

My phone buzzed.

Keifer: "I'm here."

I took a deep breath and stepped out of the house.

Keifer was waiting by the car, leaning casually against it, but the moment he saw me, his expression softened.

"You're right on time," he said, smiling.

"So are you," I replied, trying to sound calm even though my heart was pounding.

He opened the door for me, and I slipped inside. As he started the engine, the silence between us felt warm, not awkward.

"Ready?" he asked, glancing at me.

I nodded. "Yeah."

The car moved forward, and just like that, we were leaving everything behind.

We talked easily as we drove. About small things. About nothing important. About everything that somehow felt important anyway. Every laugh made my chest feel lighter.

I looked out the window, then back at him.

This wasn't just a ride.

This was the beginning of something new.

And I knew, without a doubt, that getting into that car was one of the best decisions I had ever made.Jay's POV (Arriving at the Beach)

The car ride was quiet but comfortable. Keifer drove carefully, occasionally glancing at me with a soft smile that made my heart skip a beat.

After a while, the scenery changed. The streets opened up to wide spaces, and I could see the blue of the ocean stretching out in the distance.

"We're here," Keifer said gently, stopping the car.

I opened the door and stepped out. The air was fresh, carrying the scent of salt and the soft tang of the sea. The sun reflected off the water, making the waves sparkle.

"It's beautiful," I whispered, almost to myself.

"Not as beautiful as you," Keifer said softly, and I felt my cheeks heat up.

We walked together along the soft sand, shoes in hand. The waves lapped gently at our feet, and the sound of the water was calming.

I could feel his hand brush mine. It wasn't rushed or forced—just natural. I looked up at him, and he smiled, his eyes warm and full of something I couldn't put into words.

"Ready to enjoy today?" he asked, his voice low but filled with meaning.

"I think so," I replied, squeezing his hand lightly.

For a moment, we just walked, the world around us fading away.

The sun, the waves, the endless sky—all of it seemed to exist just for us.
