Chapter 4 - Hierarchy

REAL WORLD — POST-BOMBARDMENT

The news of the attack on the Kingdom of Eruasert spread like wildfire. Newspapers across the world relayed the same headline:

"An Unprecedented Attack Strikes the Kingdom of Eruasert!"

In response, every continent sealed its borders, fearing that this instability could ignite a global conflict.

In this world, supreme authority does not rest with kings—but with three mysterious individuals known as the Emperors.

They are the ones who appoint the kings of each continent and intervene during major crises. Once rulers themselves, these ancient beings have since become figures of wisdom and overwhelming power, ensuring that no king ever turns into a tyrant.

Their identities remain unknown.

Their influence, absolute.

Despite this authority, the Emperors grant each kingdom considerable autonomy. The world of the living is made up of vastly different realms, each shaped by its own culture, politics, and social structure.

ERUASERT

A Hexagonal Kingdom — Social hierarchy defined by geography.

At the heart of the kingdom lies devastation.

• The central district, struck directly by the destructive light, has been reduced to ruins. The poor survivors desperately attempt to flee toward the noble zones.

• The nobility resides along the borders, in buildings adorned with precious metals and stone. Paved streets, fountains, advanced security systems, and technologies beyond the imagination of the lower class define their daily lives.

• The central population, long oppressed, yearns for freedom. Since the catastrophe, class tensions have reached a breaking point.

A kingdom fractured from within.

CCARE

A Square Kingdom — Where knowledge reigns supreme.

• Citizens are evaluated based on intelligence and mastery of science, history, and culture.

• A mere farmer may rise to the highest position if they prove their genius.

• Cities are built like colossal laboratories and libraries, filled with automated systems and complex machines that handle every aspect of daily life.

Progress above all else.

ICLE

A Circular and Isolated Kingdom — Shrouded in mystery.

• Its population appears to consist entirely of animals and wild creatures endowed with astonishing intelligence and strength.

• All human expeditions have failed. Entry is strictly forbidden, except for kings, the Emperors, and a handful of elite explorers.

• Legends speak of endless forests, active volcanoes, and luminous lakes—places where the laws of nature themselves seem distorted.

A land untouched… and untamed.

IANGE

A Nomadic Kingdom — Blessed by extraordinary genetics.

• Its people possess exceptional longevity and near-immunity to disease.

• The territory is vast and unforgiving: arid plains, jagged mountains, and scattered oases where clans gather.

• Though epidemics once devastated the population, the survivors are renowned for their resilience and endurance.

A people forged by suffering.

TAR

A Dual Kingdom — Ruled by Twin Kings.

• Cities are perfectly symmetrical, divided by a symbolic line where each king governs half the day.

• Legend claims that each king fathers only twins, ensuring a perfectly balanced dynasty.

• The inhabitants celebrate this duality through festivals honoring day and night separately, symbolizing harmony between the two rulers.

Balance made law.

PENTA

A Kingdom of Creativity and Play.

• A vibrant, colorful land where every building is decorated with sculptures and fantastical illuminations.

• Games and the arts lie at the heart of society. From an early age, children are taught magic, theater, painting, and acrobatics.

• Joy and absurdity are part of everyday life, and visitors are often dazzled by whimsical yet fully functional inventions lining the streets.

A world where imagination thrives.

POLY

A Kingdom of Endless Resources.

• Its soil overflows with rare metals, minerals, and materials found nowhere else.

• Thanks to this abundance, all goods are free, and citizens live off what the land provides.

• Artisans are famed for their unparalleled craftsmanship, capable of creating tools and technologies the rest of the world cannot replicate.

• Poly exports its resources to every other continent, making it the cornerstone of the global economy.

Abundance… and influence.

Thus stands the world:

A collection of continent-kingdoms, each with its own culture, strengths, and weaknesses—maintaining a fragile yet fascinating balance.

One that has just begun to crack.
