Mr. Karasuma and Shina with her luggage were in an elevator. It wasn't a too wide nor too restricted elevator.
"Shina." Mr. Karasuma called.
"Yes? What is it, uncle?" she asked looking at him.
"Listen, girl. My son is an introvert type. He doesn't talk too much nor too less. But I hope that both of you will get along with each other."
"Sure, uncle."
"You don't have to call me that." Mr. Karasuma smiled a little. " You do remember what I told you about Akira, right?"
"I do." Shina nodded slightly.
"He doesn't like talking about that so..."
"I understand."
"Oh! Here we are."
The elevator reached the eighth floor. Both of them stepped out of that. They walked a little bit through the corridor. They stopped in front of a door which had a number plate, ROOM-808 written on it and bellow that was a number plate which had AKIRA KARASUMA'S RESIDENCE written on it. Mr Karasuma pulled out the keys and opened it. The door made no noise and it opened like it was air.
"Pardon us." Mr. Karasuma smiled.
"Pa-pardon us." Shina hesitated a bit but she entered also.
"Hmm... looks like he's in his room. Shina I'm going to get refreshment. You can Visit him. His room is in the left corner."
Shina walked to Akira's room and saw a brown haired boy sleeping. His head was on a book which was opened.
"He's sleeping." Shina said. But her words made Akira wake up. He shook his head left and right and then, with his dizzy yellow eyes, he noticed a girl standing in front of him, a black haired and blue eyed beautiful girl. Akira thought that he might be dreaming.
"So beautiful!" his words slipped through his mouth.
"Beg your pardon?"
"Oh, I'm sorry... wait a minute! Who are you and what are you doing in my room?
He just noticed, huh? Shina thought.
"Oh you're up." Mr. Karasuma entered the room.
"Dad! Did you brought this girl to my room?"
"Yes, I did." Mr. Karasuma smiled.
Why did he had to smiled to say that?- Is he feeling proud to say that? Both of Akira and Shina thought.
"Shina, I need to have some words with my son." Mr. Karasuma's smile fainted away.
"Understood." Shina left the room.
"Now, shall we talk?"
Shina was exploring Akira's apartment. She sat on a sofa in the living room.
Interesting. 2 bedrooms, one kitchen, one dining room and a living room. Shina thought.
Why would there be two bedrooms for a single person. However, the whole apartment in clean and neat. He lives alone in that condition. Uncle said he does everything on his own. He might be a prodigy.
After sometime Mr. Karasuma was about to leave. He put on his shoes and opened the door. But before leaving he stopped and looked to the both of them.
"Shina." he said.
"Yes?"
""Please, look after my son." he smiled and left. Akira's brain cracked. Shina nodded.
"Hey what do you mean by that? Do you think I am weak? COMEBACK HERE!" Akira yelled and Mr. Karasuma probably heard that, because he was smiling.
"Gosh!"Akira sighed. He looked at Shina.
"We didn't get a proper introduction, right?" Akira pointed his thumb of right hand towards him.
"The name is Akira Karasuma. Nice to meet you. You can call me Akira."
"I'm Shina Hamada. I'll be in your care, Akira. And you can call me Shina as well." she bowed before him, showing him some respect.
Then they heard something going beep-bop-beep-bop. It was Akira's wrist watch. It was showing 8:00 o'clock.
"Oh, It's almost dinner time and you must hungry also. Can you wait for sometime? I'll go make something." Akira headed to kitchen.
"Okay." Shina simply sat on the sofa.
After a while, Akira and Shina sat on the dining table. Akira had made curry rice and steak. It was not only looking delicious but also smelling nice.
"Thanks for the food."
"Thanks for the food." The prayed. Shina tried the food and her blue eyes glowed. She had never tasted something this delicious.
"It's good." she said.
"Thank you." Akira smiled.
"Where did you learn to make such delicious food?"
"I just happened to know how to cook them."
"Happened to know, huh?" Shina looked a bit confused but then she continued to eat.
Akira was also eating his meals but he got lost in his thought, remembering what his father told him before.
Listen, boy. That girl is my friend's daughter. two years ago, her brother was assassinated. She was out of country that time. And there's something you should know. She is suffering from the same condition as you are and it has been three years for her...
She will live with you from this day. Her parents died in an accident. I got to know that it was a plane crash. I hope you do understand. I want you to take care of her. She'd never felt the feelings of friendship and love.
Akira stopped eating. I understand, father. If she's suffering from that like me then I'll do everything to make her feel better. Akira continued eating.
Shina was looking at Akira studying, while Akira, solving an equation, was fully focused. But he also didn't forget that he had a guest in his room. He put his pencil down and turned to Shina.
'So, Shina..." he started. "I guess, you might be bored."
"No, I'm fine. I can just play games in phone." Shina instantly started playing a battle royal game. Seeing her, Akira simply sighed.
"Are you really sure?" Akira raised his left eye-brow.
"If you really want to accompany me, then we shall have a competition."
"A competition?" Akira raised his right eye-brow.
"Yep. We'll play the game in my phone. There are total 50 players in this game, including me. I'll start first and we'll see how many players I can kill. Then you'll play and we will see how many players you can kill. Then judging from the result we'll decide the winner."
"There is a penalty for the loser right?" Akira asked.
"Yes. For now the loser will give the winner a chocolate. A big one."
She's like a child. Akira smiled and thought."Okay, Shina. You play the game first then I'll play."
Shina was fully focused in the game. Akira never played such game. He was just watching Shina playing, very carefully though. After ten minutes Shina won the game with total kills of 18 out of 50. The she gave her phone to Akira. He observed the HUD and then clicked the start button. After about of 10 minutes, Akira finished the game and he had 21 kills out of 50.
He killed 21 players out of 50. But his game play was raw like he's just a beginner.
"Akira, did you played this game before?" Shina asked.
"No. I don't play games that much."
He really might be a prodigy. Shina sighed. "Anyways, you'll get your prize tomorrow."
"I don't want it. I thought that I'd lose. So, I agreed to that. But I think if you're gonna give me a prize then I should also give you a gift as a welcome gift."
"Why?"
"Actually, you're the first guest I've ever had in my life." Akira smiled and his smile made Shina's eyes glow. She had a thought that she saw this exact same smile before, maybe years ago. But she couldn't remember.
So, he always lived alone. But now he's happy. Shina smiled. But the truth is, both of them had a little bit of agony in their smile, though they don't know.
The hour needle of the wall clock was chowing 11:30. Akira made Shina's bed in her room. Shina fell asleep as she laid down. Akira was a little shock seeing her fast asleep.
"Maybe, she's exhausted." he smiled. "Good night, Shina."
He turned off the lights and went to his room. Akira turned off the light of his room and laid down in his bed. Looking at ceiling, he was thinking what happened to him that day.
"Same condition as I am, huh?" he said and fell asleep.
Akira was sleeping quietly. He rolled over to his right side and hugged a pillow, but it actually wasn't a pillow. It was his guest, Shina. She was right next to him and he had no clue.
"Umm, Akira? Can you please put your hand off me?" she was blushing so much that even in the dark her red ears and nose could be noticed.
"Sha- up." Akira said while sleeping. "Since when pillow even started to talk. Bu wait. I never pu a piwow beside me."
I'm not a pillow." Shina smiled in embarrassment. Akira slowly opened his eyes and saw he was hugging Shina. He got his consciousness and woke up real quick.
"Wait what?" he shouted." What are you doing here?"
"Please don't yell like that. I'll explain everything." Shina frowned.
