At exactly 3: 34 am. Some one knocked on my bed roomdoor.
I live alone.
The knock was gentle,polite,like it din't want to scare me.
I held my breath and stared at the door. The handle din't move. The hallway light stayed off.
Then my phone buzzed.
Unknown:why are you pretending you're asleep?
My blood went cold. I hadn't made a sound.
Another knock ---- harder this time.
"Go away",i whispered.
The phone buzzed again .
Unknown: I can hear you breathing.
The handle slowly turned.
I jumped out of bed and locked myself in the bathroom, heart pounding so loud it hurt.the knocking followed, tapping now on the bathroom door, slow and patient.
Tap. Tap. Tap.
My phone lit up once more.
Unknown: you locked the wrong door.
The tapping stopped.
Silence stretched , thick and heavy.
Then I heard it from inside the bathroom .
A soft knock.
Behind me.
