Chapter 9: The One-Strand Humiliation
Carson didn't even move. He didn't raise a hand.
He simply released one strand of his Saber-Qi.
The air in the showroom suddenly felt as if it had been turned into razor wire. The glass windows groaned. Viper's kinetic fist didn't hit Carson; it hit a wall of invisible, vibrating sharpness.
SHRIIIIIP.
Viper's cybernetic arm didn't just stop; the metal began to peel back like an orange. He screamed as his Level 9 Qi was shredded by the sheer quality of Carson's Level 14 energy.
"You're messy, Viper," Carson said. He looked at Maya, who was trembling so hard she dropped her champagne. "And you... you were right. I was never meant to stand in the light. Because I am the one who decides when the light goes out."
Carson turned to the manager, who was now bowing so low his forehead was on the floor. "Get these two out of my building. And send the Supernova to the 4th Street Bridge. I have a friend who likes to sleep under it."
