Chapter 3 - 3. The Power that Devours Ferocious Flames

"You will regret this!"

Seeing the situation was now irreversible, Yu Xiaogang snorted in displeasure, flicked his sleeves, and turned to leave.

In his eyes, Blue Silver Grass was an absolutely worthless Martial Soul. No one except him, the Martial Soul Theory Master, could possibly understand it.

Seeing Yu Xiaogang trying to slip away, Lin Mu stepped forward quickly to block him, his tone unfriendly: "Did I say you could leave, Master~"

He emphasized the last two words heavily, clearly dripping with sarcasm.

Hearing this, Yu Xiaogang's face darkened, as if water could drip from it.

It was their first meeting—why did this guy harbor such intense malice towards him?

"Don't push your luck! The dean of this Nuoding Academy is a friend of mine."

As he said this, Yu Xiaogang's confidence was clearly insufficient.

His dean friend was only a 42nd-rank Soul Ancestor, most likely not a match for this person. (He doesn't know Flander's full power)

Lin Mu was originally a 46th-rank Soul Ancestor. Having just gained a soul power level, he was now a 47th-rank Soul Ancestor.

"Weren't you quite arrogant before? Just a Two-ringed Great Soul Master, yet you dared to talk big in front of a Soul Ancestor. I could cripple you right now and it wouldn't be a problem."

These words pierced Yu Xiaogang's heart like a sharp blade, shredding the last shreds of his pride.

Having cultivated for decades and still stuck at the 29th rank was already a source of immense shame for him.

If his cultivation were to be crippled on top of that, he would be a complete and utter failure.

"H-how was I supposed to know you were a Soul Ancestor?"

Yu Xiaogang completely lost his previous arrogance. Even his voice trembled, clearly afraid of having his cultivation crippled.

"You know now, don't you?"

Lin Mu didn't actually plan to do anything drastic to Yu Xiaogang.

Although this guy was a failure, he had deep ties with that madwoman, Bibi Dong.

If something happened to him, Bibi Dong would likely go even more insane.

"Lord Soul Ancestor, I know I was wrong."

Yu Xiaogang bowed deeply to Lin Mu, his eyes bloodshot. This was the first time he had ever bowed and apologized to a junior.

A sense of humiliation welled up within him.

"Get lost."

"Master, this man knows I have twin Martial Souls. Could he cause trouble for us?"

After Yu Xiaogang left, Tang San asked with a worried expression.

"Relax. Although this guy is a failure, he values his life exceptionally. He wouldn't dare do that." Lin Mu said calmly.

Hearing this, the stone hanging in Tang San's heart finally settled.

In his way of thinking, the best course would be to eliminate the root of the problem.

But since his Master said so, he felt it inappropriate to question it.

After all, Tang San's mindset was that of an ancient person—absolute respect for one's master.

Even towards a failure like Yu Xiaogang, Tang San never committed acts of betraying or disrespecting his master.

In essence, Yu Xiaogang was just a paper tiger, unable to inspire genuine reverence from Tang San, which later led to him being reduced to a 'just-a-guy'.

Throughout the original story, the theories Yu Xiaogang stole were correct, while the ones he deduced himself were wrong.

His guess about Tang San having twin Martial Souls was even more of a blind cat stumbling upon a dead mouse.

Tang San's Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul might look like ordinary Blue Silver Grass, but in essence, it possessed the bloodline of the Blue Silver Emperor. As long as he completed a second awakening later, it could transform into the Blue Silver Emperor.

It wasn't the case of one strong, one weak as Yu Xiaogang had claimed.

"Alright, I'll take you to buy daily necessities first."

After purchasing daily necessities for Tang San, Lin Mu did not go to Nuoding Academy. After all, he wasn't a teacher there, so he found an inn nearby to stay.

In the room, Lin Mu sat cross-legged on the bed and released his Martial Soul once more.

It was entirely made of red metallic material.

There were two holes in the center, a small insertion slot at the very top currently holding a red key, and the edges on both sides were serrated, resembling flames.

This was his Martial Soul: Flame's Nava.

Back when his Martial Soul awakened, Lin Mu had been dumbfounded. Looking at it now, this was probably the work of the system.

In the eyes of the officiating Soul Master, his Martial Soul was just a strange piece of metal.

Although not deemed completely useless, it also didn't garner any special attention from the Spirit Hall.

This suited Lin Mu just fine, as he didn't want to draw too much attention. The Spirit Hall's assessment played right into his hands.

To outsiders, Flame's Nava looked like an ordinary piece of metal. Apart from using it to hit people, they couldn't imagine any other mode of attack.

But in reality, Flame's Nava was a comprehensive set of armor. The quality of this Martial Soul was absolutely top-tier.

Sixteen years ago, Lin Mu arrived in this world and was raised by an elderly herbalist.

Although the system hadn't activated before, relying on his innate full soul power and powerful Martial Soul, Lin Mu's cultivation journey had been relatively smooth.

Only after the herbalist grandfather passed away did Lin Mu leave the city he grew up in. He traveled the continent, cultivating while journeying, and had just arrived in Nuoding City a few days ago.

"With this cheat, I might be able to obtain other armors in the future."

Lin Mu's eyes flickered as he thought to himself.

Flame's Nava belonged to the offensive-type armor. Its attributes in certain aspects couldn't compare to other armors. If he obtained other armors, his strength could increase significantly.

"Correcting Tang San's personality... easier said than done."

Lin Mu sighed.

Although Tang San had already become his disciple, eliminating the risk of him being poisoned by Yu Xiaogang and Shrek Academy's influence...

The Tang Sect's impact on Tang San was also significant. Otherwise, he wouldn't so readily say "You have already invited death upon yourself."

However, Lin Mu was different from Yu Xiaogang. Even if his educational efforts ultimately failed, he was confident he could suppress the little punk.

Meanwhile, Tang San had already moved into the work-study student dormitory.

There were many items by his bedside: bedding, a washbasin, toothbrush, toothpaste, and other daily necessities.

All of these were purchased with Lin Mu's money. Although not worth much, they made Tang San feel an unprecedented warmth.

If Tang San weren't a transmigrator, he would have been done in by Tang Hao long ago.

From Tang Hao, Tang San had hardly felt any paternal love. The only instance of paternal affection came after Tang San revealed the Clear Sky Hammer.

"Tang San, if you have money like this, why are you still a work-study student?"

"All these were bought for me by my Master."

"You've already taken a master right after enrolling?"

Learning that Tang San had a Master, Wang Sheng showed a surprised expression.

Although Blue Silver Grass was just a useless Martial Soul, Tang San did possess innate full soul power.

Surely many soul masters would be vying to take him as a disciple. Taking a master this early seemed rather rash.

"Then... do you know what level your Master's cultivation is?"

"Soul Ancestor."

Hearing 'Soul Ancestor,' Wang Sheng and the other work-study students all widened their eyes.

From their perspective, a Soul Ancestor was already an extremely prestigious and important figure.

Seeing their shocked reactions, Tang San couldn't help but feel a hint of pride in his heart.

At home, even having enough to eat was a luxury. If not for Grandpa Jack's support, he probably would have starved to death long ago. Now, having a Master, everything was getting better.

His Master said tomorrow he would take him to hunt for a spirit ring. He too could become a respected soul master.

Compared to his father, who was obsessed with alcohol, his Master, whom he had only known for a day, treated him so well.

This made his heart feel quite complex.

But after all, Tang San's mindset was that of an ancient person. No matter how poorly his father treated him, he could only choose to accept it.
