Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 Earth's Mutation, Nine Days Pass in a Blink

In the blink of an eye, it was the next day at noon. Takeru and the others gathered in the Service Club room, curiously observing the classroom.

Since there were many desks in the back, they combined several to form one large table, then brought chairs around it.

They also made sure to lock the door from the inside.

"Alright, let's continue yesterday's discussion. Regarding the points Takeru-kun mentioned, does anyone have anything to add?" Yukino initiated the conversation again.

However, upon hearing her, everyone exchanged glances, clearly having nothing substantial to add. It was understandable… they were all encountering the Reincarnation Space for the first time.

Even Takeru, despite the vast information from his past life, couldn't fully comprehend this Reincarnation Space on the first try.

"In that case, let's discuss the 'world mutation' mentioned by that place. First, has anyone noticed anything unusual happening around them?" Yukino looked at the group and spoke again.

"Nothing here," Hachiman shook his head first.

"I haven't noticed anything abnormal either," Umaru quickly raised her hand.

Then, everyone else shook their heads one by one, indicating they hadn't observed anything unusual.

"That could be considered good news. It suggests that even if a mutation is happening, it won't suddenly erupt into some major catastrophe, giving us enough time to prepare and grow stronger," Yukino stated seriously.

"Even if something major did happen suddenly, with our current abilities, we probably couldn't handle it anyway," Umaru said hesitantly.

"True. Compared to what we are now, even a single handgun would be difficult to deal with. If something supernatural truly appears, we'd have to rely on national forces for now," Takeru added.

"What you say is correct. However, the nation is completely unaware that the world is about to change. So, I hope we can all try to help mitigate disasters."

"And by detecting any unusual changes early, we can respond faster when disasters reach us, right?" Yukino sighed lightly at Takeru and Umaru's words.

Since they couldn't tell anyone in this world about the special space… or even if they could, explaining it to the military would be difficult… the more likely outcome would be their imprisonment for study...

"That's true. But with too little information, we can't inform the nation. We can only rely on everyone being more observant in their daily lives. Of course, I believe the most important thing for everyone is to improve themselves. Material items might not be taken in, but our own memories and strength likely won't be restricted by that place," Takeru supplemented.

Hearing Takeru's words, everyone nodded seriously.

After a brief discussion, the group disbanded, free to stay or leave as they wished.

Takeru didn't go elsewhere. He started training his strength right there in the clubroom. Seeing Takeru's diligence, Yuta and Hachiman felt too awkward to slack off and also began training in a corner.

Since Takeru's Strength and Constitution hadn't increased much, and Defense offered limited bonuses to stamina and physique, Takeru, wearing weights, couldn't match Yuta and Hachiman in exercises like push-ups.

Their Strength and Constitution were around 35 points each now.

Takeru didn't mind, focusing on self-improvement. Yukino, meanwhile, read books and researched, constantly enriching her knowledge.

In places unknown to Takeru and the others, at a zoo, a tiger seemed affected by something special. It became violent, its strength increasing as it relentlessly slammed against its enclosure, nearly breaking it before staff arrived in time to sedate and examine it.

Besides the tiger, a monkey was also affected. Watching the passing humans, it showed a fierce expression, but with increased intelligence, it didn't act recklessly, instead quietly save power.

Beyond the zoo, in some pet shops, cats and dogs underwent temperament changes, injuring staff. However, their strength hadn't increased enough to cause severe injury or death.

People were puzzled by these events but didn't pay them much mind.

In unseen places, such occurrences multiplied. In forests and oceans, some animals and plants slowly underwent changes.

It was as if a second growth spurt had begun, breaking previous size limits and evolving toward larger forms, with significant increases in strength, speed, and other attributes.

Besides animals, special places like cemeteries or haunted houses began spawning unique monsters that could fuse and consume resentment, forming spectral shadows.

Initially subtle, they grew at an alarming rate. Even Earth itself was undergoing peculiar changes...

A great calamity was poised to envelop the planet, yet people continued their ordinary lives.

For Takeru, daily life remained highly regular: training, school, club discussions, returning home after class, cooking, and enjoying ordinary time with Miu.

In the blink of an eye, nine days had passed since the last Reincarnation mission. During this time, Takeru and the others saw news reports about animals suddenly attacking people, suspecting it was related to the mutation.

But they couldn't be sure and couldn't easily intervene. Additionally, the first volume of Takeru's book had been released. In just three more days, the first royalty payment would hit his account.
