Chapter 19 - Chapter - 19

AUTHOR'S POV

After Alex left, Pete explained the breakup to everyone. When Kin asked what he would do next, Pete started to answer, but Vegas suddenly interrupted and asked Pete to marry him.

Everyone was shocked. Pete was angry and asked Vegas if he even cared what he wanted. With tears in his eyes, Vegas said he loved Pete too much to lose him again and promised never to hurt him.

Pete didn't believe him. He reminded Vegas of the bad things he had done in the past. Feeling overwhelmed, Pete told Vegas to leave him alone and walked away to his room.

Pete went back to his room, and Vegas followed suit, crying as he left. The rest of the group stayed behind, feeling shocked by what they had just seen.

Kim could hardly believe it was really him, but Khun pointed out how rare this was. He explained that he had only seen Vegas cry twice: once when Pete first left, and now.

Chay asked if they should try to help them, but Kin said no. He believed that, in the end, it was up to Pete to decide what to do. Everyone felt very sad and worried about what would happen to them.

PETE'S POV

I was sitting in my room when Porsche walked in. He asked if I was okay, but I knew he didn't just come to check on me. When I pressed him for the truth, he admitted he wanted to talk about Vegas. He told me that Vegas really likes me, but I couldn't forget the terrible things he did to me in the past.

Porsche explained that after I left, Vegas changed. He became rebellious and searched everywhere for me just to apologize. Porsche even told me that he and Khun went to see Vegas and beat him up, but Vegas didn't fight back. He just cried because I was gone. Hearing about how much he suffered made my heart ache with a strange pain.

Porsche went on to say that for all these years, Vegas has been alone. He only focused on his work and stayed home, never being with anyone else. I felt confused and overwhelmed by all this information. I finally asked Porsche why he was telling me all of this now after so much time had passed.

Porsche looked at me and asked why I couldn't just give Vegas a chance to prove he's different. I started to cry because the thought of it was just too much. He hugged me tightly and told me he wasn't forcing me into anything. He promised that no matter what I decided, he would always be on my side.

I told him through my tears that it wasn't that I didn't want to forgive Vegas. I can see that he has changed, but I'm just so scared. I'm terrified that if I let him back in, I'll just end up getting hurt all over again. I don't know if I can handle that kind of pain a second time.

Suddenly, Kinn walked into the room, which really surprised us. He looked at me and insisted that Vegas wouldn't hurt me. He explained that he's known Vegas since they were kids and has never seen him care about anyone this much, except for his brother Macao. Kinn said Vegas was too proud to ask for help back then, which is why he made such a mess of things. I looked at him, confused, and asked him the same question I asked Porsche about why he was telling me all of this now...

Kinn looked at me with a serious expression and explained that he considers both Vegas and me to be his brothers. He told me that Vegas has been in pain since he was a young boy because of how his father treated him. Kinn said he finally saw Vegas truly happy when he was with me, but after I left, Vegas fell back into his dark, old ways.

He went on to say that Vegas started suffering all over again, and this time, it was worse than anything he had seen before. Kinn told me that he just wants both of us to be happy because he can see how much we still love each other. He ended by softly asking me if I could find it in my heart to give Vegas one more chance...

VEGAS'S POV

I saw Pete standing there, trying to explain our breakup. When someone asked him what he would do next, he hesitated. I couldn't stand the thought of him leaving for good, so I just said it: "Let's get married."

Everyone was shocked. Pete looked at me like I was crazy and asked if I even cared what he wanted. He was right to be mad. I felt tears in my eyes and told him how much I loved him and that I couldn't lose him again.

He didn't believe me. He reminded me of the mistakes I made and told me to leave him alone before walking away. I stood there feeling completely broken, realizing how much work I have to do to earn his trust back.
