We were not allowed to follow the ambulance to the school clinic. Jax had already left the area before we even noticed that his brother was bleeding.
It felt like he had no idea what he had done in his anger, or maybe he just did not care.
After that, I could not continue eating. None of us could. The food sat untouched on the table, forgotten.
Soon, the cleaners came in and we were told to leave when the bell rang, marking the end of break.
We walked back to class in silence, like people who had just lost something important.
Zane did not say a word as we sat and waited for the next class to begin. I also had nothing to say. My chest felt heavy and my thoughts would not settle.
Ten minutes later, the tutor entered the class. He was an aged man who began to lecture on art.
He tried to lift the mood and put smiles on our faces, but nothing worked. I felt bad for him. Everyone was worried about the professor and how he was doing.
