Chapter 86 - Shaymin’s Blessing

"How exactly does this Pokémon relate to the project you mentioned?" Teruhiko asked, still trying to process it all.

"Maybe… you should take a look at this first."

Peter pulled out a weathered, old notebook and flipped it open to a specific page.

"When Rotom enters a microwave oven, lawn mower, washing machine, electric fan, or refrigerator, it transforms into an entirely new Pokémon—with a different typing…"

This notebook had been found in Charon's abandoned backpack.

In the games, the room where Rotom was discovered also contained notebooks left behind by Charon and Cyrus. Clearly, the two of them had been Rotom's original discoverers, and Charon had conducted extensive research on it.

However, driven by selfish motives, this discovery was never made public. Instead, he intended to monopolize it—only for Peter to benefit now.

"This is all the data I currently have on Rotom," Peter said vaguely. "And… I also happen to have a Rotom myself."

Teruhiko suddenly looked up.

"You mean…?"

"You're thinking exactly what I'm thinking." Peter smiled.

"If Rotom can enter all kinds of electrical appliances, then why not a Pokétch, a phone, a computer—or even a Pokédex?"

"If this truly succeeds," Peter continued calmly,

"Humanity will enter an era of absolute intelligence."

"—!!!"

Teruhiko's eyes widened. His hands trembled slightly, nostrils flaring as his breathing grew heavy.

For a businessman, there was nothing more exhilarating than discovering a brand-new opportunity—a future-defining trend.

Without question, Peter's pitch was a complete success.

Before Peter even mentioned conditions, Teruhiko slammed the table and shouted:

"I'M INVESTING IN THIS!"

-----

A few minutes later, Peter walked out of the café.

His account balance had increased by 10 Million Poké Dollars.

This was the first month's advance—covering both his technical equity and his role as brand ambassador.

That's right. Peter had handed over Charon's research notebook along with Rotom itself, securing a 20 million Poké Dollars per month endorsement contract.

The two also agreed that once the feasibility of the data was confirmed, Peter would officially become a shareholder of Pokétch, holding 20% of the company's shares.

Naturally, this meant the discovery and patent rights to Rotom-based technology would be jointly owned.

For Peter, this was a clear win-win.

After all, he didn't have the time to do R&D himself—and the research had been "picked up" from Charon anyway. Trading that for equity in a company valued at over a billion was already an unexpected windfall.

"Just a few more deals like this, and I could unlock a Legendary Pokémon quest~"

Peter thought cheerfully as he strolled along.

Just then, heated shouting erupted from a nearby patch of bushes.

"DAMN IT! You think Lady Peony is someone YOU can touch?! She belongs to ME!"

"The hell are you talking about?! Weren't YOU the one who told me to go for it?! And now you're blaming me for 'stretching her out'? Feeling insecure now?! You're that chili-stick guy she was talking about, aren't you—turn off the lights and make her eat spicy sticks every night!"

"Fine! FINE! You've completely lost your mind! I told you to go for her?! If I told you to go find a sow, would you do it?! And you dare mock me for being small—today I'm killing you!"

"SCREW YOU!"

What followed was the unmistakable sound of bodies colliding.

Smack! Thud! Crack! Aah—

"Eat this!"

"Right back at you!"

"Take that—right in the gut!"

"Spin kick—!"

"AAAAH—RIGHT UP THE—!!"

"..."

Peter stared in disbelief.

Aren't these the two Galactic Team members who were guarding the flower fields earlier?

They… turned on each other?

No unity at all!

If Peter were Cyrus, he'd definitely be sighing right now—this team is getting harder and harder to manage.

"Yikes…"

Peter instinctively snapped his legs together.

Fight all you want, guys—but why are you obsessed with going below the belt?!

What kind of fighting style is this—Dirty Street Brawling 101?!

…..

This is tragic.

Absolutely tragic.

Well… since you're already this miserable, I'll help you out.

Shaking his head, Peter pulled out his phone and dialed.

"Hello? Officer Jenny? There are two guys beating each other up here. Looks like Galactic Team uniforms. You'd better come quickly."

"Yes, yes—hurry. If you're late, they might end up in the palace already…"

A few minutes later, the two battered, unrecognizable men were arrested on the spot.

They glared viciously at Peter.

"You were the one who called the cops?!"

"No need to thank me," Peter replied solemnly.

With that, he turned and walked away heroically, leaving behind two grunts with shredded pants, howling and clutching the bars of the police car…

-----

Over the next two days, Peter didn't stay at the Pokémon Center.

Instead, he worked alongside his Pokémon in the flower fields, determined to restore the areas destroyed by the Explosion.

Notably, he also spent 1 million Poké Dollars and 200 Master Points to push Arboliva past its limits.

[Arboliva ♀ lv35 (Advanced)]

Talent: 530 (Exceeded species maximum of 510)

HP: 100Attack: 30Defense: 110Sp. Atk: 130Sp. Def: 130Speed: 30

Newly Learned Move: Encore

-----

After breaking through its limits, Arboliva's physical quality improved significantly.

Its height didn't change much, but its flexibility and the thickness of its leaves increased noticeably.

With Strength Sap already in its kit, 110 Defense was more than sufficient. From here on, Peter planned to focus on Special Defense, Special Attack, and HP.

After evolving, Arboliva could also learn Encore, so Peter exchanged for the corresponding move machine in the system shop.

At this point, every Pokémon on Peter's team—except Zorua—had learned Encore.

No reason.

Just one word: toxic.

With the help of the Dream Space, the five Pokémon steadily improved their move proficiency and battle sense.

Finally, around noon on the third day, the last unopened bud bloomed quietly under Arboliva's energy infusion.

The surrounding Pokémon gathered around Arboliva, cheering joyfully.

[Ding! Limited-Time Quest 'Shaymin and the Flower Fields' completed!

Reward: Master Points ×100, 'Shaymin's Gratitude'!]

[Ding! You have gained the recognition of the wild Pokémon in the flower fields.

Additional Reward: Master Points ×38!]

The leading Shaymin stepped forward.

"Shay-mi~ (Thank you, Peter!)"

"Well… if you really want to thank me," Peter said half-jokingly,

"how about becoming my Pokémon?"

"Mi~"

The Shaymin all shook their heads.

"Alright, alright."

Already knowing the answer, Peter wasn't disappointed. He gently lifted a cluster of Gracidea flowers.

"So… you'll be leaving now, right?"

"Mi~ (Yes~ but before that… thank you from the bottom of our hearts, Peter—and Arboliva!)"

Four Shaymin floated forward together, surrounding Peter and Arboliva.

Brilliant light flared across their backs. White wings extended from their ears, red scarf-like fur appeared around their necks, limbs lengthened, and their eyes sharpened with resolve.

They transformed—

Sky Forme Shaymin.

Dense green light enveloped Peter and Arboliva, flowing into them in steady streams. Warmth rose from Peter's feet, filling him with a profound sense of peace.

[Ding! You have received Shaymin's Blessing.

Arboliva has learned the exclusive move 'Seed Flare'.

Your physical attributes have improved!]

"…?!!"

Peter was stunned.

This—this is insanely strong?!

Seed Flare—a Base Power 120 exclusive move!

As expected of a Mythical Pokémon… absolutely busted.

"Mi~ (Then… we're leaving now~ Goodbye—!)"

Under the glow of the setting sun, the Shaymin formed a line across the sky.

Carrying gratitude and the breath of nature, they painted a brilliant streak across the world.

"Shaymin—do your best!"

Marley, riding on Arcanine, called out loudly.

Normally quiet and reserved, she shouted at the top of her lungs—sending Shaymin off on their journey.

And just like that—

The flower fields returned to peace.
