Led by Chandler, Lan Chu saw the apartment. It was very small, with no extra rooms, perfect for one person.
"Thank you, Chandler. I think this is great," Lan Chu said, looking around.
"You're welcome. I'm glad you're joining us." Chandler extended his hand, and I shook it.
"Thank you, I'm happy too. And I sincerely wish you and Monica the best; you are definitely going to have a happy marriage." Lan Chu said this without any reservations, completely forgetting the current plot progression.
"What?" Chandler quickly pulled his hand back, feeling guilty.
"I'm not, not with Mo—Monica, anything... No... No..." Chandler shook his head, a hint of sweetness flashing in his eyes, but he was clearly nervous.
Lan Chu suddenly realized.
"Oh my god, I forgot, you two haven't gone public yet! Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. I'm a loyal Qian Mo Party member! I'm rooting for you, buddy." Lan Chu patted Chandler on the shoulder and walked out. She was going shopping for necessities with Rachel.
Chandler stood rooted to the spot, looking surprised and bewildered.
"What is wrong with this woman!"
...Rachel was very thoughtful, even calling Joey to help carry things. Once everything was settled, Lan Chu started decorating her small home. Although it was humble now, things would get better... Lan Chu had read many novels and watched dramas about transmigrating into a show's setting, but she never thought it would happen to her. Compared to her original world—the endless 8 AM classes, the disgusting school system, parents who only wanted her to marry and have children quickly, and the *Zhen Huan Zhuan*-like social dynamics... this place was heaven!
Now, Lan Chu still needed a job. Lan Chu majored in English, so in this 'Beautiful Country,' that almost went without saying. However, she knew exactly where to find her first job. Without overthinking it, she headed straight for the Central Park coffee shop where the main characters often gathered, and immediately spotted the busy, blonde cutie behind the bar—Gunther.
She walked straight over and took a deep breath.
"Hi, handsome blonde~."
Gunther looked up, saw an Eastern beauty, and stopped what he was doing.
"Can I get you something to drink?" he asked.
"I don't want a drink. I was wondering, are you hiring waiters here?" Lan Chu asked cautiously, tilting her head.
"I can take you on, but... I have to interview you first..." Gunther replied.
Lan Chu thought of a plan.
"I just got here. I know Monica, and her roommate seems to be called... oh, Rachel Green. She's so pretty. Is she your girlfriend?" Lan Chu asked.
Gunther froze, then said, "You're hired. You can start now. Also, Rachel is my wife."
Lan Chu smiled and accepted, knowing he was lying.
Soon, Gunther led Lan Chu aside. Lan Chu put on an apron, and after some simple training, she had grasped the basics. Gunther, however, looked at her with unusual admiration.
"You know what? You are one of the few normal waitresses we've had," Gunther said.
"Ahem, isn't Rachel?" Lan Chu asked deliberately, causing Gunther to become shy.
"She... is a goddess."
Lan Chu smiled, nodded, and started her first job.
The main crew didn't come for coffee today, but that was okay; they would show up eventually.
That evening, Lan Chu finished work and returned home. Serving coffee wasn't easy work, but Lan Chu had accumulated experience from watching the show: whenever she encountered an impatient customer, she would just sneeze on their pancakes.
Lan Chu flopped onto the bed.
"Oh my god, no cell phone~ just a landline and an answering machine."
Lan Chu walked up to the answering machine and started examining it. Afterward, she recorded a custom message for herself.
"Welcome to the world of the Prophet. Please leave a message after the beep!"
Satisfied, Lan Chu walked to the window.
From here, she could clearly see what Joey was doing across the way. He was about to go back into his room. The moment he opened his door, Lan Chu quickly ducked down. Joey didn't notice her; he just went back into the room, grabbed his Little Penguin, and walked back out.
Lan Chu had a flash of inspiration. After Joey walked out, she cupped her hand around her ear to amplify her voice, then deliberately lowered her tone: "Joey Tribbiani~ Joey Tribbiani~."
Joey was sitting on his couch watching TV when he heard the strange voice. His eyes widened immediately, and he hugged the Little Penguin tightly.
"Who are you? What do you want~" Joey asked fearfully.
"I am the Bloodthirsty Fiend, and I love people who hug Little Penguins the most~."
Joey immediately threw the Little Penguin onto the couch.
"I'm not hugging the Little Penguin~" Joey looked around, alert yet timid.
"I know you're a Tribbiani. The Tribbianis~ taste the best~" Lan Chu was getting increasingly into the game.
Joey looked around, then cried out, "Chandler~" He ran into Chandler's room and huddled there. Chandler, who was just about to go next door to find Monica, looked slightly helpless seeing Joey in this state.
"What's wrong, Joey?"
"There's a Bloodthirsty Fiend~" Joey replied, his voice trembling.
"Did you hit your head again?" Chandler didn't understand what Joey was talking about.
"It's real," Joey insisted mournfully.
"Joey~" Lan Chu was still calling out to Joey.
"She's calling me!" Joey hid under Chandler's blanket.
"I don't hear anything," Chandler said helplessly.
Joey crawled out.
"It really is real, I'll take you to listen." Joey grabbed Chandler's arm tightly and slowly walked to the living room.
"Joey~ I'm coming for you~" Lan Chu called out.
"Chandler, she's coming for me." Joey shrank into Chandler's embrace.
Chandler realized what was going on.
"Joey, it's okay, it's Ella."
"How could it be, Ella? Ella lives across from my room, I know that!"
Chandler led Joey, who was clinging to him like a burr, back to his room.
"Joey~ Joey Tribbiani~ You smell..." Lan Chu was so caught up in the fun that she only just realized Chandler and Joey had already discovered her.
"Very... delicious," Lan Chu finished awkwardly.
Joey said angrily, "You are such a mean girl!"
Lan Chu blinked her large eyes, feigning innocence, then quickly plopped onto her bed, pretending nothing had happened.
The second morning, Joey was woken by the sunlight. He walked to the window. Ella was still asleep, and he got a mischievous idea. He sank his breath to his Dantian and began to sing in his standard Italian accent: "Morning is here!"
Lan Chu was immediately woken up and walked to the window with an angry expression.
"Morning is here!" Joey was still reveling in his singing. Lan Chu immediately raised both hands, clenched her fists, and performed the gesture invented by Ross. Finally, she closed the window and went back to sleep...
