Chapter 14 - The Recruitment Trial

Ye Shiyuan nodded. "Now that I am no longer the head disciple, I no longer need to lead the disciples in cultivation. I have time."

Bai He planned to take Ye Shiyuan along to meet Xu feng and lrt the two future brothers get to know each other first.

"Then prepare yourself. We'll set off in one hour."

One hour later, the sword flight was noticeably more skillful than it had been the previous day.

Upon arriving at the entrance of Lingguang Sect, they saw a very long line.

Some were independent cultivators who had come drawn by the sect's reputation, while others were accompanied by introducers!

This time, the recruitment into Lingguang Sect was entirely handled by Pan Yi.

He sat leisurely on a chair, with one disciple behind him massaging his shoulders and another standing beside him holding an umbrella.

He looked every bit like a pampered lord.

After becoming the first disciple, things were indeed different.

As he accepted gifts, he simultaneously decided who stayed and who left.

Xu feng was only sixteen or seventeen years old, yet he already quite tall.

Watching the people in front of him who had no money but their talent and cultivation were clearly superior to others being eliminated regardless, his heart was filled with extreme displeasure.

When it was finally his turn, Pan Yi lightly tapped his fingers against the tabletop, yet saw nothing placed before him.

He sized Xu feng up with disdain and said, "You look poor and shabby. Get lost."

"You haven't even tested me yet. Why are you dismissing me so hastily? How do you know that I'm not qualified to enter Lingguang Sect?"

"I say you're not entering, so you're not entering! Say another word, and believe it or not, I'll have someone beat you out."

Xu feng let out a cold laugh. "So the renowned Lingguang Sect is also a place that flatters the rich and tramples the poor. A sect like this isn't worth entering anyway."

Xu feng then turned around and left.

The sky grew gloomy and overcast when two figures one big and one small streaked past in front of everyone.

The small one still looked childish appearing no more than fifteen years old, while big one looked to be around twenty and dressed in green robes standing tall and dignified.

No one knew who they were; they only felt that these two were completely different from the cultivators here who looked like pampered lords.

Pan Yi hurriedly stood up. "Greetings, Little Elder Bai."

"Pan Yi, you've had quite the harvest today."

Bai He looked at the table full of gold and silver treasures.

Any single item among them was worth a fortune, it's truly generous offerings.

"Disciple... These valuables do not belong to this disciple. They were merely entrusted to me for safekeeping by the incoming disciples, who were afraid of losing them."

What an excellent excuse.

Bai He picked up a night luminous pearl that was the size of an egg and then put it back down.
