Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: A Teacher? This Is a Living Devil!

The world spun violently.

Wu Bei opened his eyes again.

The scene before him was no longer the familiar streets of Jiangcheng.

Instead, he stood in a school suffused with a chilling and terrifying atmosphere.

Wilted lawns.Cracked classroom buildings. And not far away, an old man stood in a pool of blood—his eye sockets empty.

Anyone who entered this place would feel a chill crawl up their spine.

But Wu Bei wasn't fazed at all.

He had faced horrors a thousand times worse in his previous life.

Without pausing, Wu Bei quickly adjusted and walked toward the old man standing in the blood pool, his expression cold and unreadable.

He remembered from the dungeon guide in his past life: this old man was Zhang Dahai—not an ordinary NPC.

He was the principal of this private school.

Trial participants would receive the student-teaching mission from him, and they could even negotiate their pay.

After clearing the dungeon, participants would earn the apocalypse's hard currency—Nether Coins.

With Nether Coins, trial participants could not only purchase tickets for hidden dungeons, but also trade with the supernatural for unimaginable treasures.

Wu Bei, naturally, wasn't going to miss such an opportunity.

"Principal, hello. I'm Wu Bei, here to apply as the homeroom teacher for Class 3-1."

Creak… Creak…

Zhang Dahai slowly lifted his stiff head.

With blood still dripping from his empty sockets, he looked at Wu Bei with a grotesque stare.

"You've come just in time. The students are getting impatient. Let's head to the classroom."

He began to turn, but Wu Bei pressed a hand on his shoulder.

"Before class, let's discuss the pay first."

Zhang Dahai froze, then slowly turned his head back, his terrifying face twisting as he spoke painfully:

"I completely forgot to mention the pay. Substitute teaching for one day will earn you 100 Nether Coins. Is that acceptable?"

Seeing that negotiation was possible, Wu Bei's lips curled into a wicked smile."All your students are ghosts. Teaching them isn't exactly easy. I'll need extra pay!"

The atmosphere shifted instantly.

A dark, ominous aura began radiating from Zhang Dahai."You know they're ghosts, and yet you dare ask for more money? Do you want to die?"

Wu Bei didn't flinch. Instead, he transformed his right hand into the Soul-Cutting Blade, resting it against the principal's neck.

"I'm speaking politely. I suggest you show some respect. After all, the money comes from the dungeon—but your life is your own."

???

Zhang Dahai was stunned.

Before Wu Bei, he had met countless trial participants.None had ever dared threaten him with a weapon—or even ask for extra pay.

Now, Wu Bei not only asked for more, he had drawn a knife.

Zhang Dahai seriously wondered who the real supernatural being was.

"One thousand?" Zhang Dahai finally relented.

He realized Wu Bei had a point. The money belonged to the dungeon; he was only managing it.No need to offend a living devil over it.

"One million!" Wu Bei roared, his demand enormous.

But before the words even landed, Zhang Dahai collapsed to the ground in fear, begging desperately:

"Teacher Wu, please… I can't… the max pay for a one-star dungeon is 3,000! I don't have more than that!"

Three thousand?

Wu Bei squinted.

Although it was a little short of what he wanted, he remembered that in his previous life, top players clearing dungeons for records earned only 300 per day.

He decided to accept it.

"Fine, three thousand it is. Take me to the classroom."

"Of course, right this way, Teacher Wu!"

Five minutes later.

Wu Bei followed Zhang Dahai to the floor where Class 3-1 was located.

From a distance, chaos could be heard from the classroom. The room was engulfed in flames, giving it an eerie, unnatural feel.

At that moment, Zhang Dahai stopped, fear evident in his voice:

"Teacher Wu, I'll leave you here. Just enter the classroom and start teaching.

But a warning: this is a private school. Every student here comes from a wealthy or influential family. Don't let them report you, or the school won't allow you to continue."

Wu Bei nodded. His dungeon journey was about to begin.

Bang!

The classroom door swung open.

The previously noisy room fell into deadly silence.

Thirty-six students simultaneously fixed their eyes on Wu Bei.

Without hesitation, he strode toward the podium, introducing himself coldly:

"My name is Wu Bei, your new homeroom teacher.

I don't have the best temper, so behave yourselves. Don't make me angry."

Perhaps because such an introduction was standard in the teaching profession, the students weren't impressed. The moment he finished speaking, scornful jeers echoed through the classroom.

One student with dyed yellow hair stood up, a mischievous glint in his eyes:"Teacher Wu, this is a science class. Do you even know what science is?"

At that moment, a transparent countdown appeared on Wu Bei's arm.

39:58…

The dungeon had officially begun.

He had to survive these forty minutes.

But he was aiming for an SSS rating , not just a safe passage.

"Of course I know science!"

A sinister smile spread across every student's face.

The yellow-haired boy grinned widely, revealing jagged teeth."I have a question for you, Teacher Wu. I assume you won't refuse to answer?"

"Go ahead," Wu Bei replied flatly.

The boy's grin twisted wider:"If my head and yours were both dropped from the fifth floor, whose would hit the ground first?"

Wu Bei's eyes flickered with a murderous light.

The first question, at the very start of the countdown, was a death trap.

He beckoned to the boy with a hand:"Come over. I'll tell you my answer."

The boy, used to arrogance thanks to his father's influence, strutted toward Wu Bei with a sly smirk. He teased, "Teacher Wu, if you don't answer, I'll give you a bad rating.

I assume you don't want to stay here forever, do you?"

Swoosh~

A head dropped.

Wu Bei casually flicked the black blood off his Soul-Cutting Blade arm and scanned the rest of the class.

"Next question!"
