Cherreads

Chapter 4 - Ch : 3

After finishing my move, I started walking back to the supermarket to prepare dinner. After finishing my shopping, it started to rain outside, so I brought an umbrella.

I was walking through the park when I saw a very beautiful blonde girl sitting on a swing with a sad face, letting herself get wet from the rain. Calling her an angel wouldn't be an exaggeration.

Even though I knew her, now that I saw her in person, my heart felt heavy. I approached her and used my umbrella to stop the rain from continuing to wet her.

"What are you doing here?" I asked. The girl started to look at me.

"No...you don't need to pay attention to me," she replied in a slightly weak tone. Seeing this, I frowned.

"You should go home soon. If you stay here too long, you'll get sick," I said, but she just shook her head.

"Don't worry about me...I just want to be here," she said. For some reason, hearing that made me feel sad.

(But I do care! If you don't want to live, then give me your life.) Suddenly, she looked at me with a surprised expression.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Are you #!?" He tried to say something but just like Sona earlier, As I watched her, a guess occurred to me, but I had to try it.

(Shiina Mahiru is also the heroine of the Angel Next Door franchise. I didn't expect to meet her here. This is where she first met the protagonist, and from there, they began their relationship and fell in love, even living together in the future.)

After I finished saying that, I saw the expression on her face change from shock to red, From her expression, I already had my answer.

I called the system.

"System"

[Yes, host! How can I help you?]

"Are you absolutely sure the heroines won't hear my heart?"

[Of course! You have to trust the system, that no one will hear your heart.] She continued to say that even though I already knew. Sighing, I returned my attention to Mahiru.

"Do you really not want to go home?" I asked again.

"No need." He replied with the same words.

(Should I just take her home? Besides, I don't have a girlfriend, so I don't need to look anymore.) He started to panic.

"No! I don't want to!" He replied with a red face.

"What don't you want?" I asked with a smile on my face.

She didn't answer and ignored me. I thought there was no other choice.

I handed her my groceries and put down my umbrella. She had a confused look on her face. Then, with a surprised expression, I started to carry her. She realized what I was doing and started to struggle.

"What are you doing?!" She said, her face flushed.

"Isn't this your choice?" I replied with a smile.

"I never said that!" She replied in an annoyed tone.

"Well, if you stay out too long, you'll get sick, don't you have school tomorrow?"

"That..." She fell silent.

I used one hand to hold the umbrella and the other to carry her.

"Don't you feel heavy?" She asked in a worried tone. I smiled.

"No, this kind of thing doesn't matter to me, besides, where are we going?"

"That... to your house," she lowered her head and answered in a low voice. I noticed her ears were slightly red.

"Okay, hold on to me tightly," I replied and started walking home.
