Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Yurion walked down the street alone.

The road was empty , nk cars no people. Just silence and buildings on both sides, the wind moving trash across the pavement. He didn't look rushed. He didn't look worried. He just walked.

He stopped in front of a small convenience store calles 7UPS

The bell rang as he walked in. The store was quiet. No customers. No music. Just the hum of the fridges.

Yurion looked around, opened one of the coolers, and grabbed a soft drink. He checked his pockets, counted the little money he had, then walked to the counter.

He paid.

No words. No eye contact.

He walked back outside.

The moment he stepped out, he felt it.

People.

On top of the buildings.

Watching.

Men in suits stood on rooftops, on balconies, on ledges , surrounding the street like shadows.

Yurion sighed.

"What now…" he said casually, popping the can open and taking a drink.

A woman in a suit walked toward him. Brown eyes. Black hair. Calm face.

"Yurion," she said, "you've been causing trouble."

"I know," he replied. "You don't have to tell me."

"If this continues," she said, "you know we'll be forced to intervene and stop you."

Yurion finished his drink, crushed the can in his hand.

"Well," he said calmly, "that's if you can stop me."

The woman smiled.

No emotion. No anger. No fear.

"If you have nothing else to say," Yurion added, "then leave me alone."

Her smile faded.

"Yurion," she said quietly, "whatever you're doing isn't going to bring your parents back."

In a flash...

Yurion moved.

He grabbed her by the throat and lifted her off the ground.

"What do you know about my parents?" he said, his voice low and sharp.

The men in suits immediately tensed, ready to attack.

Then a voice spoke.

"Stop it."

An old woman in a suit stepped forward.

Yurion didn't turn.

Still choking the woman, he said, "What do you want, Director?"

The old woman sighed.

"I apologize if Yuri offended you, Yurion. So please… let her go."

Yurion looked at Yuri for a second.

Then dropped her.

She fell to the ground, coughing, gasping for air.

"Thank you," the Director said.

"Now tell me , how long do you plan on having your fun? Because by the looks of it,

it's not getting you anywhere."

Yurion looked at her.

"Well," he said, "it's better than what you were doing. Making me work for you, then not even giving me the identity of the person I'm chasing."

The Director's face stayed calm.

"Yurion, you do realize the person you're hunting is extremely powerful and dangerous. People like that are hard to track. Hard to find."

Yurion scoffed.

"So what, I should go back to working for you?

"Yes," she said simply.

"No thank you," Yurion replied. "I think I'm good on my own."

He turned and started walking away.

"Yurion," the Director said, "I don't think you understand. You are the most powerful superhuman in Japan. The Association needs you."

Yurion didn't respond.

He didn't stop.

He just kept walking.
