The bell rang for lunch. Axel jumped out of his seat.
"Finally! Food and freedom!"
Jean was waiting for them in the hallway. She looked much happier now because Olivia's "Quiet Zone" was still working.
"Do you guys want to sit with me and my other friends?"
Jean asked. They were her first friends from High School but she knew the others from the dormitory.
It was X mansion.
"Lead the way!"
Axel said, his wild smile returning.
They went to the cafeteria. It was loud and smelled like pizza. In the corner, a group of teenagers sat together.
There was a boy with red glasses named Scott, a boy who looked like a blue furry beast named Hank, and a very fast boy named Pietro.
Jean sat down and pointed to the siblings.
"Everyone, this is Axel and Olivia."
"Hey,"
Scott said, looking at them through his red lenses. He felt a strange power coming from them.
"I'm Scott. Welcome to the team."
Axel sat down and grabbed a slice of pizza.
"Nice to meet you, Glass-man! I like your style."
Pietro, who was moving very fast, zoomed around Axel.
"New kids, huh? Think you can keep up with me?"
Axel laughed.
"I can move faster than light, bud. Don't test me."
Suddenly, a bully named Duncan walked over.
He saw the new kids and wanted to act tough. He tried to grab Axel's pizza.
"New kids pay a tax,"
Duncan laughed.
Axel didn't even look at him. His eyes flickered with a tiny spark of God Fire.
The pizza in Duncan's hand suddenly turned into a pile of black ash.
"Oops,"
Axel said with a grin.
"My food is a bit too hot for you."
Duncan yelled and backed away, scared.
He didn't know what happened, but he felt like he had just stood next to a volcano.
Scott looked worried.
"You shouldn't use your powers in public, Axel. We have to stay hidden."
"Hidden is boring,"
Axel said, leaning back.
Olivia sighed.
She waved her hand slightly, and a small Void pocket opened under the table.
It swallowed the ash on the floor so no one would see the evidence.
"My brother is a loud-mouth,"
Olivia said to Jean and Scott.
"But he means well."
Duncan did not like being made a fool.
He came back with two big friends.
"You think you're funny?"
Duncan shouted. He tried to grab Axel's shirt.
Axel moved like a blur. He didn't use his fire; he just used his God-level speed and strength.
When Duncan swung a punch, Axel moved slightly to the left. Duncan missed and tripped over his own feet.
When Duncan tried to stand up using a chair as a holder, Axel pulled the chair away.
Duncan fell flat on his face again.
"Is the floor too comfortable? You didn't want to part with it."
Axel asked with a laugh.
Duncan got angry and tried to tackle Axel.
Axel simply held out one finger against Duncan's forehead.
No matter how hard Duncan pushed, he couldn't move Axel at all.
It was like trying to push a mountain.
The whole cafeteria started laughing.
Duncan's face turned bright red. He felt silly and weak.
He realized he couldn't win, so he ran away while everyone cheered.
"Nice moves,"
Pietro said, impressed.
"And you didn't even break a sweat."
After school ended, the big black limo was waiting.
"Hey,"
Jean said, walking up to them.
"Do you two want to come to my dorm?."
"Sure!"
"Um… alright."
Axel and Olivia answered.
"Anything is better than sitting in that classroom."
"That's why you are an idiot."
They arrived at the X-Mansion. It was a beautiful, large house. Inside, they met Ororo again, but she wasn't dressed as a teacher now.
Beside her stood a short, tough-looking man with messy hair and a grumpy face.
"This is Logan,"
Ororo said.
Logan sniffed the air. He looked at Axel and Olivia.
"You kids smell like... power. A lot of it."
Axel grinned. He liked Logan's tough energy.
"I like you, old man. You look like you know how to fight."
Logan chuckled.
"Don't call me old, kid. But yeah, I know a few things."
Axel and Logan started talking about training and combat. They got along very well because they both liked action.
Meanwhile, Olivia walked over to Ororo. They both liked the quiet. Ororo took Olivia to the garden.
"It is peaceful here,"
Olivia said, feeling the wind.
"I agree,"
Ororo replied. She could control the weather, and she felt the deep calm inside Olivia's Void Power.
"You have a very strong spirit, Olivia. You don't need to hide it here."
Olivia nodded. For the first time in a long time, she felt like she could relax.
