Chapter 10 - Sylvia Fainted!

"Hmm... S-rank healers are rare. Generally, a team will go to great lengths to ensure such members are safe. Still, basic fighting ability and safety are extremely necessary regardless."

Once Sylvia came near, Professor Lyra spoke lightly.

"Still, since you are just starting and might not have learned many skills, I will be slightly lenient."

The best challenge the professor could give Sylvia was to see how easily she could heal her injured teammates, whether she could buff or debuff with her skills on time, etc.

But today, she simply wanted to test the survivability of her elite students.

So, even if Sylvia was a healer, she would still need to fight.

"Okay, your challenge is to fight and defeat a Level 11 Wraith within 10 minutes."

The professor decided before teleporting Sylvia directly to the arena.

"Professor, wait.."

She did not even hear Sylvia's nervous yelp, as she was eager to see how much power an S-rank Healer possessed.

Since the Wraith was a dark-attribute monster, Sylvia should have no problem dealing with it, even though she was just a healer.

Each class possessed its own advantages and disadvantages, after all.

'N-No… not the Wraith!'

Unfortunately, Professor Lyra had no way of knowing that Sylvia would feel far more comfortable fighting almost any other type of monster than this one.

After all, Sylvia was quite…

...afraid of ghosts.

The moment Sylvia arrived at the arena, the summoning circle lit up.

Immediately after, dark miasma spilled across the arena as an eerie, raspy growl echoed around, sending a shiver down Sylvia's spine.

In no time at all, she saw a… Wraith emerged from the dark haze, its distorted figure slowly taking shape as it stared at her with unmistakable murderous intent.

Its hollow eyes burned with thick malice, claws scraping against the ground as it took a step forward.

In an instant, Sylvia's breath hitched as she almost cried out in terror.

Even so, she tightened her grip on her staff and forced herself to stand her ground.

As an elite hunter, she did not want to embarrass herself in front of everyone.

'Welp… it seems nothing will change.'

Soren thought after seeing her slightly trembling fingers with his Passive Eagle's Eye.

'…She's scared.'

In the early plot of Lover's Labyrinth, the main heroine, Sylvia, had one glaring issue, which was her extreme fear of ghosts and specters.

She was already afraid, and her mental power was not strong enough to resist the Wraith's fear-inducing skill.

He was sure she would faint the moment the Wraith used its skill on her.

'Hmm... maybe this is my chance?'

Soren suddenly thought that way while looking at Sylvia's trembling fingers, struggling to tighten their grip on the staff, ready to fire her spell.

According to the usual plot, it was Evan who came to her rescue and carried her to the infirmary. He even remembered her fear and brought her an amulet from the dungeon to help her overcome it.

That's how the plot normally went.

'But... who says it has to be Evan?'

After experiencing the power of the 'Gap' stat, Soren was already convinced by his system.

Besides, he had to complete the Quest even if he didn't want to. Then, what was the point of whining?

Besides, he wasn't a saint. Of course, he also wanted an exclusive harem if possible.

The only thing he had to care about was to stick to his bottom line when performing the Perverted Quest given by the system.

*Screeeeeeh…*

As the soul-stirring howl of the Wraith echoed around the entire classroom, Soren immediately walked forward.

"Hmm? Where are you going?"

Evan asked, confused, from beside, but Soren didn't reply.

In no time, he was already in front, right behind the arena, ready to help Sylvia.

"What are you doing here?"

While Soren observed the trembling figure casting green spells at the Wraith, a low, surprised voice came from his side.

"Hmm?"

When he turned to look, he found that he was actually beside Aurelia, who was looking at him with a suspicious gaze.

She felt that he was being too forward. Although he indeed surprised her with that arrow of his before, he was still a B-class hunter.

Did he think she would pay attention to him?

"Whoa!"

"What happened?"

"Student Sylvia?"

Soren was about to reply, but he saw Sylvia finally couldn't take it anymore and immediately fainted.

So, without even thinking, he immediately ran towards the arena with extreme agility, grabbing her body before she could even hit the ground.

Professor Lyra had already stopped the Wraith summon as soon as she felt something was wrong with the student.

"Is she okay?"

She asked Soren with a slight surprise, as she never thought he would come so fast for her.

"She should be okay after some rest."

Soren nodded lightly, grabbing Sylvia by her waist and carrying her up.

"Don't worry, Professor. She has trauma related to ghosts, and her mental power was too low to resist the Wraith's skill."

Seeing that the professor looked confused, Soren lightly explained.

"Oh? That makes sense. It seems I hurried her a little too much."

Lyra nodded as if she understood.

"Okay then, take her to the Infirmary and let her rest for a while. Tell her she doesn't need to worry about today's challenge as it isn't that important."

She said before pointing at a certain direction where a door suddenly emerged on its own. She couldn't just teleport Sylvia when her mental power was low, could she?

So, she just burrowed Soren's hand, who seemed quite concerned about his friend.

"Thank you, Professor!"

Soren slightly bowed, made Sylvia lean in with his hands on her waist, before walking out of the arena.

By this time, all the students around also noticed the incident.

"Soren... is Sylvia alright?"
