Chapter 47 - Chapter 45: The Judgment of the Lesbian Teleporter

Outside the Restaurant.

When Shirai Kuroko's gaze fell on the corner booth inside the glass wall, she froze.

Her eyes brightened for a split second.

"Onee-sama—"

But in the next moment, her eyes shifted to the boy sitting opposite her beloved Onee-sama.

Her expression crumbled.

She watched as the boy smiled lovingly and fed Onee-sama a spoonful of ice cream. Onee-sama accepted it with a blush (actually cream) on her face.

KRA-KOOM!

A metaphorical bolt of lightning struck Kuroko from the top of her twin-tails to the soles of her loafers. She turned into stone.

"Shirai-san? What's wrong all of a sudden?" Uiharu asked, confused.

Three seconds later.

Kuroko covered her eyes with her hands. Her shoulders trembled.

"Waaaaah...!!"

She burst into tears.

"Ahhh... How could this be... Could it be... Could it be that Onee-sama really... has a boyfriend?!"

Thud.

She dropped to her knees on the sidewalk. She banged her forehead against the concrete in a posture of utter defeat.

"And it's already gotten to the point of public feeding plays?! How could this be... How could this be..."

"Shirai-san?! Get up! People are staring!" Uiharu panicked, trying to pull her partner up. Passersby were giving them strange looks.

"Waaah... How could Onee-sama belong to an Ape? Konori-senpai was right!" Kuroko muttered in despair, clutching her chest.

"She hugs the gift to sleep... She gets angry one minute and happy the next... It was all the symptoms of love!"

"Onee-sama?! You mean the #3 Level 5, the Railgun?"

Uiharu listened to Kuroko's muttering, cold sweat beading on her forehead. 'My partner has finally snapped.'

Suddenly, Kuroko stopped crying.

She stood up instantly. Her face was still wet with tears, but her expression shifted to one of tragic righteousness.

"No. I cannot accept this."

Her eyes burned with determination.

"I have to go and see what kind of Ape has beguiled Onee-sama."

Mustering her courage, she adjusted her Judgment armband and marched toward the buffet restaurant with an air of menace.

"Shirai-san! Wait!" Uiharu hurriedly followed.

...

Inside the Restaurant.

Yuuya was enjoying feeding Misaka 9985. It was peaceful. It was cute.

Then, he heard a voice.

A sweet, cloying, distinctive voice that sent shivers down his spine.

"Onee-sama?"

"Onee-sama~ Oh my god, Onee-sama... I was wondering why you said you wanted to go back to the dorm alone, claiming you were worried about 'Room Checks.' Turns out it was just an excuse to do this kind of thing~"

Yuuya froze.

He turned his head slowly.

Standing at their table was a girl slightly shorter than average, with brown twin-tails tied with red ribbons. She wore the Tokiwadai uniform and a Judgment armband.

Shirai Kuroko.

Yuuya's eye twitched.

'Oh god. The Pervert Teleporter.'

Of all the people to run into on his first date with a Clone... he had to run into the one person who was obsessed with Misaka Mikoto.

"This is a problem..." he thought. "A huge problem."

"Are you talking to Misaka? DO, Misaka asks in confusion," 9985 said, staring blankly at the intruder.

Kuroko flinched.

"Oh dear... Your tone has changed. 'Misaka asks'? Oh my god, did I catch you in the middle of a roleplay date? Did I make you that embarrassed?"

Kuroko misinterpreted the robotic speech as Mikoto trying to be cute or hide her identity.

She smiled through her tears—a fragile, broken smile—and turned her gaze to Yuuya.

She grabbed his right hand (the one holding the spoon) with a grip like a vice.

"Sir. Nice to meet you."

Her voice was polite, but her aura was murderous.

"I am Shirai Kuroko. I am here to... pave the way for my sister."

"You seem to know Onee-sama, so I am using 'social etiquette' to greet you. But know this..."

She leaned in, her eyes scrutinizing him like a predator looking at a piece of meat.

"If you plan to make a move on Onee-sama, you will have to get past me first~"

'He's average,' Kuroko analyzed. 'Slightly handsome, perhaps. But just a common Ape. Why him? Why does Onee-sama like this?'

She looked back at "Mikoto," whose gaze was vacant and unfocused.

"Hooray~ Just being caught by my roommate is enough to make Onee-sama go catatonic? Who knows... maybe I'll get snatched away by someone else one day~" Kuroko said sarcastically, trying to guilt-trip her.

"DO, Misaka does not understand the query," 9985 blinked.

"It's alright if you 'don't understand,' Onee-sama~"

Kuroko wiped a tear from her eye.

"Have a nice date with this... gentleman."

She spun around, her twin-tails whipping the air.

"Let's go, Uiharu."

"Eh? We're leaving?" Uiharu blinked, disappointed she didn't get to meet the Railgun properly.

"Yes. Onee-sama has gone to such lengths to hide this... She is clearly telling me not to disturb her."

Kuroko walked toward the exit, a dark thundercloud hanging over her head.

'If I ruin this date now, Onee-sama will hate me. I must be patient. I must be tactical.'

'I will save her from this Ape later. I will shatter her illusions about men.'

"Uiharu..." Kuroko said through gritted teeth as they exited the restaurant.

"Y-Yes?"

"I remember there are a lot of delinquents in this area at night."

Kuroko cracked her knuckles.

"Let's go on a patrol. I need to... vent."

"Waaaah! Wait, Shirai-san! Don't take your anger out on the citizens!"
