Chapter 1 - The Not-So-Perfect Crime

Cillian Vale stared at Mrs. Whitshire as if he had miss heard.

'It's a three way crime…'

"Shut up, Martha!" Mr. Whitshire yelled, grabbing her arm. She rose quickly, backing away with a scared look, breathing heavily. Her chair scraped against the metal floor, falling with a clang that echoed in the silent interrogation room.

The detective moved quickly, recovering from his shock immediately, his eyes glimmered like emeralds and he moved at an unmeasurable speed, he grabbed Mr. Whitshire's wrists with a pair of handcuffs already in his hands.

"Mr. Whitshire, you are under arrest for second degree murder, and Mrs. Whitshire for first degree murder." He said quickly so to put the handcuffs on. They clicked on easily, Mr. Whitshire could not process what had happened until it already occurred.

Other men came in through the interrogation door, pulling the thing open with a grating slide. Men dressed in protective gear and batons went to take care of Mrs. Whitshire and her husband, but she was not doing much except crying in her hands loudly, while Mr. Whitshire tried to hit anything he saw, he was man handled and dragged away.

Cillian felt a twinge of understanding for Mrs. Whitshire, but it disappeared as soon as the married couple was removed. His jaw clenched, but he clasped his hands behind his back to stop them from moving like before and stood silently, watching his job come to a close. His eyes dulled, returning to the dark, empty look.

"What a day, eh? You really are what they say, although I suppose many things are said in Sommerset."

The captain of the police who had detained the married couple, Mr. Adams who was dressed in a dark uniform and wore a golden badge visibly. He had tank skin and dark, curly hair, with bright, turquoise eyes.

Cillian replied coolly.

"Thanks for taking care of that." He nodded towards the empty chairs, one was flipped.

"So, I assume you know the procedures. We can definitely arrest Mrs. Whitshire and detain Mr. Whitshire, but, we need a statement from him. You may be requested again.

"I have a feeling this case is far from over."
