Chapter 2 - chapter 2: The Moon’s Call

In just two days, Morgoth reached the high stage of the Spirit World. The latter had taken him only two days because he needed to gather sufficient spiritual energy for the breakthrough; otherwise, he could have reached this stage even faster.

In any case, to go beyond that—to the Peak Stage—Morgoth now had to begin understanding the world that comes after the Spirit World, which is the Spirit Tempering World.

The moment he grasped even a small part of it, he would automatically break through to the Peak Stage. And once he fully comprehended the Spirit Tempering World, he would naturally break through into the Spirit Tempering Realm itself.

Thus, time flew by for Morgoth; in the blink of an eye, three days had passed.

Morgoth broke through the Spirit World and finally reached the Spirit Tempering World!

The Spirit Tempering World is divided into eight stages: the Initial Stage, then Spirit Tempering First Stage, up to Spirit Tempering Seventh Stage—eight stages in total.

The first stage, the Initial Stage, cannot even truly be considered a stage. Once a person's realm becomes sufficiently stable within the Spirit Tempering World, they will automatically advance to the Spirit Tempering First Stage.

Naturally, Morgoth had already fully understood this world, so he was well aware of this. As a result, he began stabilizing his cultivation.

After every breakthrough, a certain degree of chaos occurs in the cultivator's spiritual energy. Therefore, it is only natural for the cultivator to first calm this chaos before resuming training.

And this was exactly what Morgoth was doing—calming the turbulence in his spiritual energy caused by the breakthrough.

It took Morgoth a day and a half to stabilize himself, after which he automatically broke through into the Spirit Tempering First Stage!

He did not achieve any kind of power breakthrough or anything of that sort, because this stage was merely a transitional one—nothing more.

In any case, after ascending to the Spirit Tempering World, Morgoth perceived many changes within himself.

The first change was spiritual vision! Spiritual vision is an ability possessed by any cultivator in the Spirit World. Through it, one can see spirits and other things that cannot be perceived with the naked eye.

After reaching the Spirit Tempering World, his spiritual vision became stronger and far more discerning.

In addition, the amount of spiritual energy he could now store had doubled compared to before.

All of these changes occurred because his soul had evolved! Cultivation realms aim to develop the soul, and through this development, various abilities of the soul manifest.

Naturally, once the soul evolves, its abilities evolve alongside it, becoming more powerful.

"By observing my current state, I can now feel my ability to temper and strengthen my soul… so this is how it works," Morgoth muttered.

Although he already knew the method in advance due to his understanding of the Spirit Tempering World, experiencing it personally was entirely different from theoretical knowledge.

Without hesitation, Morgoth began tempering his soul. At first, it was terrifying—each act of tempering caused him deep pain. He frowned and stopped.

"This can't continue. I must find a way to temper my soul without pain, and in a proper manner."

Morgoth closed his eyes, halting the tempering process.

Instead, he used the Ability of Wisdom and began devising a method—or rather, a technique—for tempering the soul without pain.

One day passed, and Morgoth finally comprehended a technique. He said, "This is it. I can utilize this particular part of the leg within the soul, temper it first, then move on to the rest of the soul until the entire tempering process is complete—without any pain."

Delighted, Morgoth realized a method to temper his soul painlessly. It involved a specific part of his soul's leg, which he discovered did not cause him any pain when tempered.

As a result, Morgoth took advantage of this discovery. Then, in order to temper the rest of his soul and not just the leg, he employed a special method.

This was frequency!

Morgoth could use sound and generate frequency waves capable of tempering his soul. Naturally, this would be impossible under normal circumstances. However, by exploiting the resonance created while tempering the leg, these frequencies could propagate throughout the rest of his soul and temper it as well.

Thus, Morgoth's soul-tempering technique could be understood as combining the spreading nature of sound frequencies with the inherent properties of soul tempering.

Through this method—this technique—Morgoth could temper his entire soul via resonance, without experiencing a single trace of pain!

It was far faster than ordinary tempering, no less effective, and completely painless.

Thus, Morgoth began tempering his soul without pause!

Time passed, and in the blink of an eye, more than a week went by. Morgoth broke through the First Tempering Stage and reached the Second Tempering Stage!

Morgoth was undoubtedly astonishingly fast. This was certainly not normal—it was due to the technique he had created.

Because of this technique, his tempering speed was truly rapid. In any case, after this breakthrough, he once again felt major changes as both his spiritual vision and spiritual energy became stronger than before.

This, in short, was what the Spirit Tempering World provided. It did not grant new abilities like spiritual vision; it merely enhanced the strength of spiritual energy and spiritual vision.

And eventually, it would lead to a qualitative transformation in both spiritual vision and spiritual energy.

In any case, Morgoth did not slack off in his cultivation. Instead, he continued with even greater enthusiasm than before.

While Morgoth was immersed in training at this moment, the Foolish Moon was extremely anxious. As time passed, his anxiety only grew, because Morgoth had not contacted him at all.

He had not even left his house—he had remained inside training the entire time! After all, the Moon was the Moon; he could see everything.

Thus, he could observe Morgoth's recent activities, and all he saw was Morgoth training! The Moon asked himself, "Does this bastard never get tired of training, or what?"

Still, he knew that the boy had not gone mad from cultivation. He was simply training nonstop because cultivation had become an addiction for him.

This was not something common among cultivators. After all, cultivation was extremely boring, focusing on gathering spiritual energy, and sometimes requiring intense concentration and comprehension.

These things only added to the monotony of cultivation. But Morgoth was somewhat different. Although gathering spiritual energy was indeed dull, comprehension was something else entirely!

After all, he possessed the Ability of Wisdom!

Morgoth was, in fact, very happy about this. The Moon did not truly understand Morgoth's mental state—it was somewhat complex. And due to the existence of the Ability of Wisdom, the Moon had completely misunderstood Morgoth.

The Moon waited patiently through the night. Finally, at a certain point, he noticed Morgoth stop training, seemingly taking a break. Overjoyed, the Moon immediately called out to him.

"Morgoth, come up to the rooftop. Let's talk," said the Moon.
