Every plum that emerged from the slime's embrace was pristine, glistening in the sunlight like a polished gem.
Hearing his name, or rather, sensing the attention, Bubbly let out a series of enthusiastic "pew pew" sounds. Its spherical body jiggled rhythmically, sending ripples across the water's surface.
[Go on, big brother! Go home! I can finish this in a jiffy!] The creature seemed to be saying.
Seeing that the pile of unwashed fruit had indeed dwindled significantly, Ewan nodded: "Alright. But put some of the clean ones in a small basket for me. I'll head back first."
"Just go back empty-handed." Asher insisted, standing up to wipe his hands: "It's not much weight, I can carry it all back myself once we're done."
