Chapter 1 - #1Lord, Web Universe, Mystic Master

Chapter 1: Lord, OmniNet, Artificer

A new Lord has arrived in Moonstone Town.

The news spread quickly through the town but failed to stir much discussion.

Ever since the mines near the town could no longer be squeezed for profit, this place had become a godforsaken exile land, despised by man and beast alike.

Five years ago, the previous Lord stripped the people of their last copper and left this backwater without looking back, never to return.

Regarding this new Lord they had yet to meet, the impoverished townsfolk only wished to avoid him, naturally daring not to harbor any expectations.

The Lords Mansion.

As one of the few decent-looking residences in town, the interior of the Lords Mansion was a complete mess.

After the former Lord left with his servants, the unattended mansion became a holy site for the townsfolk to scavenge, loot, and strip bare.

In less than half a month, this "luxury mansion" had been picked clean down to its bare bones.

Five years had passed, and the place was now covered in cobwebs and a thick layer of dust.

In the dilapidated mansion where even the door panels had been stolen, a young man covered his nose and looked around.

The youth had a handsome face, black hair, and black eyes. His clean skin and clothing were a stark contrast to the local mud-legged commoners.

In fact, Luo Yi was indeed not a "local."

He came from another world.

Commonly known as a transmigrator.

He was also the newly appointed Lord of Moonstone Town.

As for why a transmigrator like him could become a Lord, one would have to ask the card in his hand... [Adventure Card]

[Lineage: "The World"]

[Description: The journey has come to a temporary close. You have gained much along the way; now is the time for harvest.]

[Rewards: Proof of Lordship for Moonstone Town (Claimed), OmniNet Activation Authority (Pending), world fragment x1 (Unclaimed)]

... "So this counts as completing a 'journey'."

Watching the text gradually emerge in his field of vision, Luo Yi held his breath and thought silently.

After transmigrating to this world, he had obtained a card from "the fool" lineage.

According to the card's description, as long as he came to Moonstone Town, he would receive rewards.

Upon arriving at Moonstone Town, Luo Yi discovered that the initial card had transformed into "The World" lineage.

And he could claim rewards from the card, which was truly miraculous.

After showing the Proof of Lordship to the Town Mayor, Luo Yi came to the Lords Mansion to inspect the residence that belonged to him in name.

And incidentally, to find some private space to claim the remaining rewards.

"The second reward is to activate 'OmniNet' authority...?"

Just as this thought surfaced in Luo Yi's mind, he saw lines of glowing text appear before his eyes.

Even with his eyes closed, these prompt-like words remained clearly visible in his mind!

... [Successfully connected to the "Multiverse Integrated Game Network" (hereafter referred to as "OmniNet")]

... OmniNet?!

Luo Yi rapidly interpreted the information appearing before him.

Just as he had finished digesting the previous text, even more information flooded into his mind.

Accompanying it was a sharp, searing pain that climbed instantly from his toes to his spine like a bolt of lightning!

It was as if he had suddenly been dipped into magma hot enough to incinerate steel; every inch of skin and flesh was constantly melting and restructuring!

... [Unknown law conflict detected, player forcibly granted base class: Artificer]

[Special Feats: Inventory, Equipment Slots, Minimap, World Shop, Terra Body]

... The burning sensation gradually dissipated from his skin, but Luo Yi felt a residual, glowing ember still within his body.

Wiping away sweat, Luo Yi digested the complex information that made his head feel a bit dizzy.

After about ten minutes, he had gained a preliminary understanding of the various OmniNet settings.

Simply put, while transmigrating, Luo Yi had connected to the Multiverse Integrated Game Network and awakened a Terraria system.

However, the two seemed to have some rule conflicts, leading to a few small changes after OmniNet was activated.

"In any case, it should be a good thing... right?"

Feeling the new power surging within him, Luo Yi thought with some uncertainty.

He didn't know much about OmniNet, but he was all too familiar with Terraria.

This was the perfect opportunity to examine his current state.

For example, several special feats were actually the basic permissions of a Terraria player.

They had just been corrected according to OmniNet rules... [Inventory: You can open a 5x10 grid personal dimensional space]

[Equipment Slots: You can equip 3 pieces of armor, 5 accessories, and several auxiliary items]

[Minimap: You can view explored areas in the current world through the map]

... Besides these, several other unique special feats seemed to be the product of OmniNet and Terraria rules overlapping... [Terra Body: You have 100 base Health and Mana; attribute and class growth no longer provide Health and Mana bonuses]

[World Shop: When you meet certain conditions, you can unlock specific types of direct exchange shops]

... Luo Yi was familiar with all these abilities and quickly mastered how to use the various functions.

Opening his inventory, he found several items lying quietly, waiting for his inspection.

Focusing his attention, the relevant text information appeared before him... [Copper Shortsword]

[Rarity: White (Level 0)]

[Damage: 5]

... [Copper Pickaxe]

[Rarity: White (Level 0)]

[Damage: 4]

[Pickaxe Power: 35%]

... [Copper Axe]

[Rarity: White (Level 0)]

[Damage: 3]

[Axe Power: 35%]

... These were the lowest-tier tools in the Terraria World, perfect for Luo Yi to start his "pioneering."

The Copper Shortsword could be used for self-defense.

The Copper Pickaxe could mine dirt, stone, and low-level ores like copper and iron.

The Copper Axe could gather resources like wood.

With a sudden intuition, Luo Yi raised his hand into the air, and with a thought, a pickaxe appeared.

He felt a strange connection with the tool in his hand, as familiar as an extension of his own limb... [Magic Craftsmanship]

[Type: Class Feature]

[Description: You have learned how to infuse mundane objects with magical power. When holding any tool, you can bestow one of the following magical properties]

[①: The tool provides bright light in a 5-meter radius and an additional 5 meters of dim light]

[②: You can record up to 6 seconds of audio, which is released when touched by a creature]

[③: Causes the item to constantly emit a certain scent or non-verbal sound within a 10-meter range]

[④: Apply a static visual effect to the surface of the object, such as an image, text, lines, or shapes]

[The duration of the chosen magical property is infinite; you can end the effect early]

[The maximum number of tools you can influence with this feature is equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1)]

[Note: "All colleagues are welcome to this channel to exchange skills and insights" — Artisans Guild, City of Myriad Paths]

... "So it's the effect of the Artificer's class feature."

Feeling this strange sensation, Luo Yi pulled information about OmniNet from his mind.

The Artificer class was a magical craftsman skilled in invention and creation.

In addition to having a certain degree of spellcasting ability, they could also make items perform extraordinarily through ingenuity and magic.

Magic Craftsmanship was a Level 1 Artificer class feature, and also a manifestation of their skill in utilizing tools.

Although these magical effects didn't seem like much... in Luo Yi's eyes, they were far from useless.

"Let there be light."

A tentative murmur came from the dim room.

The next moment, a soft white light spread out, illuminating Luo Yi's slightly surprised face.

The Copper Pickaxe in his hand, after being infused with mana, had actually turned into a "glowing tool" with its own light source!

"Not bad, it'll be much more convenient for underground mining."

Luo Yi gripped the Copper Pickaxe with satisfaction, as if holding a bright future.

In addition to Magic Craftsmanship, a Level 1 Artificer could also learn two 0-level spells from the spell list—namely, Cantrips... [Cantrip]

[Type: Class Feature]

[Description: You can learn two Cantrips from the Artificer spell list. At higher levels, you can learn more Cantrips according to the Artificer Class Table.

When you gain an Artificer level, you can learn a new Cantrip from the Artificer spell list to replace an existing known Cantrip.]

... Because it was not a formal Mage class, the variety of Cantrips Luo Yi could learn from the spell list was not very large.

After careful consideration, Luo Yi finally made a decision.

[You have learned "Prestidigitation" and "Ray of Frost"]

These were the two 0-level spells he chose.

Prestidigitation was somewhat similar to the Artificer's Magic Craftsmanship, but the targets were not limited to tools, making it more versatile.

And Ray of Frost was an offensive spell.

In addition to dealing frost damage upon impact, Ray of Frost could also apply a slow effect.

All things considered, it was a fairly good means of offense and control.

Moreover, these two Cantrips could be cast without spell materials, which was very convenient.

Generally speaking, a standard Artificer class only had these two class features at Level 1.

But in Luo Yi's panel, there was currently an unfamiliar feature ability lying quietly... [Living Forge]

[Type: Class Feature · Terraria Limited]

[Description: You can attempt to fuse a set of armor with yourself. If successful, you will gain the defense and set effects of that armor; if you fail, you will lose the armor and health. The fusion success rate is inversely proportional to the armor's rarity. You can consume inspiration points to increase the success rate]

[Fused Armor: None]

[Note: The defense gained from different armors takes the highest value; only one set effect can be active at a time]

... After browsing the effects of Living Forge, Luo Yi's eyes suddenly lit up!

The Terraria World had many armor sets with magical effects!

As long as he could keep fusing them, even without wearing any protective gear, Luo Yi could possess powerful survivability!

Simply put, it turned the external power of "equipment" into his own strength!

However, if the fusion failed, Luo Yi would lose an entire set of armor equipment.

Low-level gear was fine, but if high-level armor made from rare materials dropped by specific bosses failed to fuse... it would be enough to break his heart.

After checking the entire panel and confirming there was no missing information, Luo Yi satisfiedly exited the OmniNet interface.

"Right, I remember there was a 'World Shop' function."

"I wonder what I can buy now."

Thinking of this, Luo Yi tried to call up the exchange page.

However, he was soon met with a rejection.

[Prerequisites for opening the exchange Shop not met]

[Opening condition for the basic Shop: Hold at least 1 Gold Coin]

"This opening condition looks familiar... Could it be the move-in condition for the various Terraria NPCs?"

Luo Yi rubbed his chin thoughtfully.

If it really was that kind of setting, then the goods in the Shop naturally went without saying.

They should be the items sold by various NPCs in the Terraria World.

Luo Yi naturally didn't have a penny on him; he was penniless.

He didn't know when he would be able to scrape together the 1 Gold Coin to open the Shop.

Even in the current world, 1 Gold Coin was not a small amount.

Used sparingly, it was enough to cover several months of food for a family of three in Moonstone Town.

"Where can I make some money..."

While thinking, Luo Yi claimed the final reward.

The moment the reward was claimed, the Adventure Card turned into scattered specks of light and flew away.

At the same time, Luo Yi's figure suddenly vanished.

[You have obtained a "world fragment"]

[Proceeding to "Terraria"]

...
