Chapter 46 - HOW TO BE STRONG?

From his left ring finger, a dark bubbly substance emerged from a ring colored dark purple with the face of a clown inscribed onto it. The clown had a red cap and red nose, not to mention it smiled.

"Lynn." Akame kissed the ring, "Its time to open your eyes."

"DO NOT PATRONIZE MEEEE!" Screeched Lynn, her voice cutting through the air, it was so high pitched that it could shatter glass within a 50km radius.

 "I wasn't really…"

"DO NOT! I SAID DO NOT! OR DIE!"

Akame shrugged, he wasn't going to get anywhere with this thing acting like this.

LYNN: CHIMERA DOG

Luckily for him that night the moon's light was nice and bright enough to form shadows. Or maybe he knew this and thus why he decided to wake up Lynn.

Because from his feet's shadow emerged dogs of different coats. Black, white and gray. They snarled at the two enemies before them.

"If I were you I'd choose to run." Akame said, "I'll let it slide this time."

Teddy's knees shook, his head sweaty. 'I don't think we can beat him, he'll kill us before we even get the chance. We need to…'

"Don't you dare Teddy!" Jericho shouted, "I'll fight him to the death if I have to."

 "Wait are you…"

Before he could explain she took off, rod in hand. She swung it, pushing the dogs out of the way with so much force they crashed into the neighboring buildings.

 YOU ARE MINE!

There was a large smile on her face, blood rushing through out her entire body. She'd never felt so… so alive! Maybe it was because it was her first battle in months.

 GRRR!

The wolves snarled as they jumped right back into action. This time they had grown a bit larger than before, now they stood on their hind legs. Their build was muscular and their sharp teeth and claws got sharper.

 "Huh?"

SCRATCH!

One tried getting her face, but she used the rod to block the claws kicking it in the chest with enough force to send it back. One came from behind her, she switched the direction of the pole swinging it backwards it crashed into the creatures face cracking its neck.

Another came from the back, its teeth exposed as it chose to got for her legs, she used the rod for support tossing herself up in the air before crushing the beast beneath her feet.

'Wow, she's very scary.' Akame thought, 'But I guess I'll just have to crank it up to about 12 %"

"So, will you dance with me now?" She asked, determined to show him the levels of her power.

For some people, power was something that came to them naturally, it was always there they just need more time to bring it out. This was especially true for Jericho, if given enough time these individuals can unlock infinite amount of potential. However, by the time they reach their opponents level of strength they too would have become stronger.

 "Chimera, disappear!"

The dogs returned to his shadow

"Finally, now don't keep me waiting." She licked her lips, "I want you all to myself."

'I'd say without me using Lynn we're probably on the same level raw power. But she has more fragment energy capacity than me… What am I saying everyone has a larger capacity than me, anyway she's got me beat in raw power. But there's something else I'd like to see.'

"LYNN: TELEPORT"

CHEKING CURRENT REGESTRY.

WHO WOULD YOU LIKE TO TELEPORT?

 "Gil."

Suddenly black bubbles appeared and with them Gil. He looked around. "How the hell did I get here?"

Jericho jumped back. "Called for re-enforcements, its fine I'll take both of you on." She got into position ready to attack.

"Nah, your way to strong for the likes of me." Akame admitted.

 "?"

"But Gil here is way stronger than I am."

"I am?" Gil gave a puzzled face.

"If you want an interesting fight then he can give you one." Akame had made a few calculations in his head, 'It'll be fun to measure how much he's grown since back then.'

"Let's hope you've been keeping up with your training schedule."

He walked, disappearing one moment and reappearing next to Teddy. Teddy didn't move as he felt no I'll intent from him.

"Sorry I attacked you out of the blue." Akame apologized, "I'd mistaken you for a threat."

"Yeah, people often do that." Teddy scratched the back of his head, "But it was our fault for spying on you when we couldn't even prove you were the one we were looking for."

"Hey, asshole!" Jericho called, "Is this some kind of joke, I'll have you know I'm a four and a half star sorcerer. You think I can't beat a wimp like him."

"Hey, I'm not a wimp. Akame says I'm just quirky." Gil defended. "Also what does Four and a half stars mean?"

"See he doesn't even know what that means, he's an idiot." Jericho pouted.

"Hey, why does ever girl I meet call me that?"

 Akame raised a brow. "Gil."

 "Yes captain?"

"Four and a half stars is the metric they use to measure how strong a sorcerer is. It goes from one star to six stars. The higher the number of stars the more powerful the sorcerer… is what I'd like to say but its total bullshit."

 "Huh?" They exclaimed.

"What do you mean?" Teddy asked.

"The problem with you folks from the Vatican is that you always take strength to be one dimensional. Like someone who can punch the hardest or someone who has the most energy out of everyone." Akame leaned back against the wall, "When in truth the only way you can actually measure strength is one of two way."

"Duh, obviously by feats and raw facts." Jericho leaned against her pole, surprisingly in tuned with this conversation.

"Oh, I've got the answer." Gil raised his hand.

 "Yes Gil?"

"By how smart and talented you are."

"Like I said you're a complete and utter moron." Jericho commented.

 "Well he right."

 "What!?"

"Partially anyway. When it comes to fragment combat their three things you might need to understand:

Your already dead unless you do something to prevent that. The person in front of you is infinitely stronger so question each and every decision he makes. If I've got no luck on my side then I'm dead.

Once these are deep in your brain, you can finally begin to fight as intended."

"Your in essence just saying we shouldn't rely on our power too much." Teddy said.

"Exactly, because power isn't going to save you when your on the brink of death. Because even bees can kill elephants when one flies into its trunk and into its lungs. Always think of what you'll do next."

"Yep, as I suspected a load of bull." Jericho turned to Gil, "Seriously kid I'll beat you ass in less than a second if you try and listen to his none sense."

"Fine since we're all here I say we test that hypothesis shall we?" The others looked at Akame.

 "What are you suggesting."

"Just a friendly competition." Akame turned his attention to Gil.

"Gil, you have 2 hours to fight and immobilize her. Failure to do such will result in immediate punishment."
