"I... I don't know." Cecilia's voice was hoarse.
"Cecilia, you need to calm down. Your Hugo died saving you. He's never coming back." Chloe was desperate to snap her friend out of it. "Did you forget about Damian Hawthorne...?"
"Chloe..." Cecilia cut her off, her voice growing even hoarser. "I know. I know my Hugo isn't coming back. I just wish this was all a dream."
'If this were all a dream, her Hugo would still be alive and well.'
'But she knew Hugo was dead.'
'He didn't have to die.'
Cecilia closed her eyes, her mind replaying the accident—the car crash.
When the doctors pronounced Hugo dead, she hadn't cried or made a scene. It took her a full year to gradually accept the fact.
