Chapter 25 - Yellow Flash

Chapter 25: Yellow Flash

The smoke of battle hadn't fully faded yet. The smell of blood mixed with dust hung heavy in the forests and mountains of the Land of Grass.

Izumo had just finished off three Iwagakure genin. A faint chill still lingered in his wrist from the kunai cutting through flesh when the voice that reached his ears made him freeze.

Behind him, a blinding streak of yellow light split across the sky.

It moved at a speed beyond comprehension, like a meteor tearing through the forest and mountains, carrying with it a faint distortion of space itself—before instantly appearing in the middle of the battlefield.

"Th-That…" Akimichi Doto's tense face suddenly broke into a wide, excited grin. The exhaustion in his eyes vanished in an instant. "That's Minato! Minato's here! We've won!"

His shout exploded across the battlefield like thunder. Friend and foe alike turned their heads toward the yellow figure.

The three Iwagakure jōnin who had been surrounding Akimichi Doto all changed expressions.

One of them—a tall, thin ninja with an Iwagakure symbol carved into his forehead protector—snorted coldly, eyes full of contempt.

"So it's just one blond kid. Even if he's a jōnin, so what? With the three of us working together, how could we possibly lose to some yellow-haired brat like him?"

Kotetsu and the other Konoha ninja were also a little confused.

Just because one ninja had arrived, why was Doto-sensei so fired up?

Izumo stopped what he was doing and stared hard at the man in the Konoha jōnin vest. His heart began to pound uncontrollably.

That was the legendary "Yellow Flash."

The fastest ninja in the shinobi world.

The future Fourth Hokage.

Akimichi Doto and Minato exchanged a look. The two of them had known each other for a long time.

"Super Multi-Size Technique!"

In an instant, Akimichi Doto transformed into a giant more than ten meters tall. A single punch and a single kick sent shockwaves through the entire battlefield.

At the same time, kunai flew in every direction.

The Iwagakure jōnin facing him suddenly felt the air around him ripple faintly. A ghostlike yellow glow slowly condensed behind him.

Namikaze Minato's figure appeared there as if he had teleported.

His right hand held a kunai that gleamed with a cold light. On the blade, the words "Sword of Ninja Love" shone in soft blue—marking it as a tool of the Flying Thunder God Technique.

"Were you talking about me?" Minato's voice was gentle, yet it carried an undeniable pressure.

Before the last word had even fully left his mouth, the kunai had already pierced straight through the Iwagakure jōnin's heart.

The jōnin didn't even have time to react.

The mocking look was still frozen in his pupils as his body went limp and collapsed to the ground.

In the moment before death, all he saw was a blurred yellow shadow—and the cold sensation blooming in his chest. He hadn't even been able to clearly register his opponent's movement.

The terror of the Flying Thunder God Technique was on full display.

No complicated hand seals. No massive chakra surges.

Just a single, instantaneous leap through space—crossing dozens of meters and appearing in the one place the enemy least expected.

Yellow chakra light flashed like lightning, as if space itself had been sliced open by a thin crack. Minato's figure moved within that crack, his speed far beyond what the human eye could track.

"So this is the Flying Thunder God Technique…" Izumo's eyes went wide. He stared without blinking, a violent wave of shock crashing through his heart.

His expert-level Body Flicker Technique already gave him incredible speed.

But compared to the Flying Thunder God, it was nothing more than a turtle's crawl.

A power that ignored distance and moved instantly like this—

This was exactly what he had always dreamed of.

The other two Iwagakure jōnin were terrified out of their minds, their faces pale as paper.

"It's the Flying Thunder God! He's Namikaze Minato! Run!" one of them screamed hysterically, spinning around and trying to activate an Earth Release ninjutsu to escape.

But Minato's speed was far beyond their imagination.

The yellow light flashed.

Minato appeared behind the fleeing jōnin in an instant. The kunai moved with perfect precision, cutting straight into the artery at his neck.

Blood sprayed out as the Iwagakure jōnin slammed into the ground, twitching twice before going completely still.

The last remaining Iwagakure jōnin mentally collapsed.

In a panic, he activated an Earth Release technique—Earth Flow River—trying to flood the area with mud and block Minato's pursuit.

But the yellow light was like a sharp blade cutting through the current.

Minato passed straight through the muddy torrent and appeared right in front of him. His left hand clamped down on the enemy's wrist, while his right hand held the kunai at the man's throat.

"Iwagakure ninja still don't know how to judge a situation properly," Minato said softly. There was a trace of coldness hidden in his calm gaze.

With a slight press of the kunai, the last Iwagakure jōnin collapsed into a pool of blood.

The entire process took less than three seconds.

Three experienced Iwagakure jōnin had been eliminated by Namikaze Minato in the blink of an eye.

The battlefield fell into a deadly silence.

Both the Konoha ninja and the remaining Iwagakure genin were left staring, completely speechless in the face of that overwhelming power.

"Yellow Flash… that name really fits," a Konoha chūnin swallowed hard, his voice trembling.

The remaining Iwagakure genin were so scared their legs went weak. Not a single trace of fighting spirit remained.

They dropped their weapons and turned to flee into the mountain forest.

"Run! Namikaze Minato is here!"

"That's not even human! The Yellow Flash is a monster!"

Akimichi Doto let out a long, relieved breath. His massive body shrank back to its normal size, and a relaxed expression spread across his face.

"Minato, you came just in time. If you'd been even a little later, Konoha might've taken some heavy losses today."

Minato sheathed his kunai and gave a gentle smile.

"Doto, thanks for holding the line. I just set out with my team, and as soon as I received the distress signal from here, I rushed ahead of them."

His gaze swept across the battlefield before stopping on Izumo. A hint of appreciation flickered in his eyes.

"This kid… is he your student, Doto?" Minato asked softly. "That burst of speed just now was pretty impressive."
