Ina's POV
The next day, I woke up early so I wouldn't be late for school. Mom wasn't back from work before I hit the sack, but hearing the clatter of plates, I knew she was up and making breakfast. I hurriedly freshened up and made my way downstairs to eat.
"Good morning, Mom," I said as I helped her dish the food.
"Morning, my darling. How was your night?" she asked.
"Not bad, thanks," I replied.
"So, how was your first day at school?" Mom asked.
I took a deep breath and answered, "Mom, it was good… aside from the fact that I taught some nuisance a lesson. And guess what, Mom? I made a friend on my first day! Isn't that good, considering how snobbish I am?" I added while eating my breakfast.
"Wow, that's pretty cool," she said. "But if I'm not mistaken, you said you taught someone a lesson. What did I warn you about? Not getting pissed off at anyone. Is that how you were trained? Your dad wouldn't be proud if he heard about this."
"But Mom, it wasn't my fault. He was the one who instigated it. And I remember vividly that you told me not to create a scene—I didn't. I only taught some sense into him," I said. "Moreover, when is Dad coming?"
"Go call him and ask him yourself," my mom replied angrily.
"Mom! I'm sorry. I won't repeat it again," I said, pleading with my eyes.
"Oh my gosh! I'm going to be late. Mom, I've got to go," I said as I stood up and pecked her cheek. "Bye, Mom. See you."
"Bye, sweetheart. Mama loves you," she said as I closed the door.
I got to school and quickly went to my locker to pack my books before heading to class. Accounting was my first class, so I hurried so I wouldn't miss anything. When I got there, the teacher hadn't arrived yet, so I was saved. The class was full, and there was no space to sit—except at the back. I don't like sitting at the back, but I had no choice.
I was about to sit when some guy pushed me aside and took the only seat left. I looked up, and it was no one other than Mr. Grumpy Head.
"You again!" I said, pointing my index finger at him.
He didn't even acknowledge me—just acted like I didn't exist. The class's attention was now on us. He was with one of the guys from yesterday, the one Jasmine called Zayn. I was about to say something when the teacher walked in.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen. My name is Mr. Philip. I am your Accounting teacher. I'm glad to see you all, and I hope you'll give me your absolute concentration," he said, then pointed at me. "Miss, find a place to sit."
I was pissed, but a cute guy offered me a seat beside him. I sat down, and the class continued.
