Luffy shouted to Usopp.
"Usopp, check this cannon!"
"What? I already did!" said Usopp.
"Well then, let me show you how a professional does it," said Usopp, flicking his long nose proudly.
"Then let's find some targets," said Luffy. "There! There's a rock over there."
"Hahahaha! Then let me, the great Usopp, demonstrate!" said Usopp.
"Okay, move the cannon's mouth to the target… okay… then point it… all set! Be prepared, you're about to witness my skill!" said Usopp.
Zoro didn't care. He was asleep.
Luffy's eyes were shining like stars.
Usopp then shouted, "Ikeeeee!" and lit the cannon.
"Fire at that rock!"
BOOOOOOM!
The cannon shot toward the silent rock.
BANGGGGG!
The rock was completely obliterated by the cannon.
"Wow! Incredible!" said Luffy, his mouth dropping to the floor—literally.
"Hahaha! So how was the skill of the great Usopp?" said Usopp.
Luffy clapped his hands. "From now on, you're our ship sniper!" said Luffy proudly.
But then—tug.
They saw a hand gripping the ship's railing. Usopp and Luffy stared at it. The hand pulled itself up onto the deck, followed by two people—one dead, one badly injured.
The man who was still alive said, "Y-you… you dare to fire a cannon at us while we were resting on those rocks?"
This caused Luffy and Usopp's eyes and mouths to widen.
The man, barely standing, sheathed his katana and said, "You will pay for killing Yosaku…"
The shout was so loud it woke Zoro from his sleep.
"Hey, quiet down. I'm trying to sleep here. You're too noisy," he said.
Then he looked at the man with the sheathed katana.
The man looked back. "Bro… Zoro?!"
Zoro raised an eyebrow. "Johnny? What are you doing here with that dead guy over there?"
"Huuhuhuhuhuhu! Bro Zoro!" Johnny rushed toward Zoro, clinging to his leg.
"Please help Yosaku! He suddenly got weak, his teeth and hair started falling out! I don't know what to do! Then a cannon shot toward us and now he's totally dead!" Johnny cried.
Luffy and Usopp bowed their heads deeply.
"Gomenasaiii!"
"Fuck you and your sorry shit! If saying sorry could bring my friend back, then fuck off! The Marines—!" Johnny shouted angrily.
Nami was woken up by the noise. She saw the scene like a drama unfolding, then noticed Yosaku's body on the deck.
She shook her head. "You're all so noisy," shouted Nami.
"Just give that dead body an orange or a lemon. He'll be fine."
Luffy and Usopp heard those words and immediately started searching for lemons or oranges in Merry's kitchen.
Johnny looked at Nami with teary eyes. "What do you mean…?"
"You set sail without knowing a thing," Nami said, shaking her head.
"It's called scurvy. The symptoms are exactly what he showed—pale skin, loss of energy, teeth falling out, reopening of old wounds, and eventually coma."
"That's scurvy. Vitamin C can cure it," said Nami.
"Oh! You're my sister from now on!" said Johnny, hugging Nami's boots while crying.
Nami shook her head. "It's just common knowledge."
After Luffy and Usopp helped Yosaku drink some lemon juice, his condition stabilized. His body returned to normal, like a zombie turning back into a human.
"Oh, my sister Nami! Thank you so much!" said Johnny, hugging Yosaku tightly.
"You'll suffocate him with that hug," said Zoro calmly.
After resting for a while, Yosaku was back to his energetic self.
"Oh! Bro Zoro, you're here too!" said Yosaku.
"And you must be Sister Nami! Thank you for saving my life!"
Usopp said, "Who would've thought there were people on those rocks… and that a lemon could cure you?"
"Right, right," said Luffy.
Nami sighed. "You'd better find a cook or someone who knows nutrition, or you'll die at sea without knowing why."
Luffy laughed. "Shishishishishi! Okay! Let's go find a chefff!" shouted
"Oh, you're looking for a cook? Then we should all head to Baratie," said Johnny.
"Baratie?" said Luffy and Usopp at the same time.
"We were planning to go there and have a taste of their cooking. We heard the cooks there are top-notch—every meal they make will take you to heaven," said Yosaku.
Luffy immediately said, "Let's go! I wanna eat their meals!" while drooling nonstop.
"No need to rush ," said Nami and Usopp together. "We already have a goddess on this ship. What heavenly taste could beat that?"
Zoro just nodded.
Johnny and Yosaku stared at them in confusion.
"A goddess? Heavenly? What are you talking about?" said Johnny, scratching the back of his head.
"Yeah, we don't get it, Sister Nami," said Yosaku.
"Oh, no need for your curiosity or your imagination to run wild in your mind. She's resting and taking her time… that's why don't be loud, don't shout, and don't make a single sound," said Nami as she turned around and headed back to the room where Cry was sleeping peacefully.
