Chapter 90 - Chapter 90: The Abused Hydra Team (Part 3)

"As expected of a Level 10 Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., he's got some real skills."

Hawking watched Nick Fury, who was in a desperate situation below, surrounded and attacked by hundreds of HYDRA Agents, yet still managed to save himself through various means and even killed a dozen HYDRA Agents. He couldn't help but let out a rare sigh of admiration.

In fact, he believed that he wasn't Nick Fury's last resort. Even if he had Peter and the others act now, Nick Fury, unable to hold on, would definitely find a way to notify Captain Marvel to rescue him.

With Captain Marvel's speed, it wouldn't take long even if she came from outer space.

However, once Captain Marvel moved, HYDRA would surely notice, which might affect Nick Fury's plans. That's why he was asked for help.

"All forces, attack!"

Seeing that Nick Fury was about to collapse, Hawking finally gave the order to act.

The three, Peter, who had already arrived around the battlefield, received the signal and made their grand entrance.

"It's hunting time."

Venom was the first to appear, leaping directly onto a police car that was blocking Nick Fury's vehicle. He reached out and grabbed two HYDRA Agents who were firing frantically, eating their heads one by one.

"Ah, this is truly delicious!"

"What the hell is that?"

The HYDRA Agents, realizing what was happening, immediately turned some of their firepower towards Venom.

Nick Fury, who was hiding in the car, clutching his ribs, finally breathed a sigh of relief and put away the communicator made with Kree technology.

"Face judgment!"

Following Venom's appearance was Spider-Man Peter, who swung down on a web and landed on the roof of Nick Fury's car. He raised his hand and shot out webs, instantly tying up the HYDRA Agents, both men and their guns, securely.

"Is the super weapon installed yet?"

The person in charge of this assassination mission, seeing Venom and Spider-Man appear, immediately frowned and asked an Agent beside him.

According to the intelligence he had, these Superheroes hadn't been very active recently due to a holiday and shouldn't be in the vicinity. How did two of them suddenly show up?

"It's already installed."

"Then activate it immediately and make Nick Fury and those two meddling guys disappear!"

A cold sneer appeared on the person in charge's face.

The super weapon was a high-power weapon improved by Dr. Zola based on the World War II HYDRA energy weapon.

Because it didn't have the energy of the Space Stone, it used electricity for conversion. The initial installation, fixation, and energy conversion required some time, but one shot could destroy everything within a radius of dozens of meters.

Even Nick Fury's modified car, which could withstand Rockets, would be reduced to ashes under the super weapon's attack.

Behind the crossroads, a large machine, more than three meters high and resembling a cannon, was assembled by several HYDRA Agents. Then, under some manipulation, it began to emit blue energy fluctuations.

However, before the energy could be fully converted, a metal javelin suddenly descended from the sky at an extremely terrifying speed, piercing through the cannon in one go. Then, four more followed in quick succession, completely silencing the cannon.

"It's time to show some real skill!"

Everyone looked up to see a girl with a shield in her left hand and a javelin in her right, floating above their heads.

The third Superhero of the Hero Alliance, Flying Valkyrie, made her debut.

Usually, they faced minor characters, so their battles were more casual, with little coordination or use of weapons.

But this time, because they were facing elite HYDRA Agents, they might get injured if they weren't careful. So, for the first time, they used their pre-rehearsed team combat style.

Venom, who was immune to most damage and had the greatest strength, served as the front-line tank. Peter, with his web control and Spider-Sense, provided auxiliary kills.

Finally, Jessica, who could fly, oversaw the overall situation, filled in gaps, and acted as long-range damage.

Jessica was strong and could fly, but she didn't have Spider-Sense, and her defense was similar to an ordinary person's. If she was hit by a bullet, she would also be seriously injured.

So, Hawking didn't recommend her to engage in close combat during a fight. Instead, he had her fly in the air with a highly defensive large shield and use the retractable metal javelins made by Green Goblin for long-range projection.

It's worth noting that there aren't many characters who can fly in the Marvel Universe. Flying high in the sky can render most enemies helpless.

And with a large shield for defense, ordinary firearms couldn't injure her.

Finally, with Jessica's strength, the javelins shot down from high altitude naturally had incredible power; they could probably even penetrate a tank.

With the three of them working together, their combat power would at least double.

As for why Hawking didn't join in?

The power gap was too great; it simply didn't match, like a King and Bronze Saints.

"Try to capture them alive. Director Fury probably needs to pry some information out of these Agents."

Seeing the HYDRA Agents being beaten with almost no ability to retaliate, even with Peter's trio's not-yet-perfect coordination, Hawking slowly landed beside Nick Fury's car.

"Director Fury, I arrived a little late. Are you okay?"

"You kid, you must have done it on purpose."

Nick Fury clutched his broken ribs and rolled his eyes, annoyed.

Hawking looked innocent upon hearing this:

"Director Fury loves to joke. How could I, Hawking, be that kind of person?"

Nick Fury twitched his mouth, then turned to look at Peter's trio, who were fighting in front, and said with a somewhat complex tone:

"Your team seems to be no less than the X-Men."

He sought Hawking's help because he valued Hawking's strength, but he didn't expect that Hawking's three-person team would already complete the mission, without Hawking needing to intervene.

He, of course, knew about Hawking's team, but he hadn't really taken them seriously before.

Six months ago, a nerdy high school student bitten by a spider, and an ordinary girl accidentally infected by Military chemicals, and recently, a helpless reporter who seemed to have been exposed to alien genes.

These were all ordinary people who had accidentally gained some abilities, just like those Mutant students who had awakened their powers. Under Hawking's care, they were good enough for fighting criminals.

But he never expected that the three of them, working together, could unleash such powerful combat strength, which made him regret agreeing to Hawking's conditions earlier.

If the Hero Alliance continued to develop in this way, it would definitely be a force to be reckoned with in the future.

"It's alright, it definitely can't compare to the X-Men."

Hawking smiled and didn't explain much.

It was too late to realize this now. The company had already established itself and gained public recognition, and he believed Nick Fury wouldn't have the energy to deal with him next.
