Chapter 54 - Chapter 54 I am mortal enemies of evil

"This guy is quite dedicated, but his luck seems to be pretty bad."

At midnight, after Hawking brilliantly resolved several crime incidents, he unexpectedly ran into an acquaintance.

This acquaintance was none other than Eddie Brock, the star reporter for the Daily Bugle, but at this moment, he was being cornered and robbed by several thugs in an alley... or perhaps being sexually assaulted?

The thugs clearly had some peculiar habits; after snatching Eddie's camera and wallet, they actually started forcibly pulling down his pants.

"Oh, no, guys, don't do this! You want money, right? I'll give you all of it. If it's not enough, I can even go to the bank to withdraw more, any amount. Please just let me go!"

Eddie desperately held onto his pants, his voice tinged with a slight whimper.

Damn it, he had heard that the South Bronx was very dangerous at night, and even many experienced old reporters were unwilling to go there after dark.

But he hadn't expected it to be *this* dangerous. Robbing him for money was one thing—he wasn't short on cash—but attempting to sexually assault him was simply too much. He was a normal man with a girlfriend.

"I should have called a few people to come with me. At least I would have had some ability to resist!"

Because he wanted to curry favor with his boss's boss, while writing tomorrow's front page, he decided to make a trip to the South Bronx to see if he could find more material to add to the front-page report.

As a result, he didn't find any material but was cornered by a few perverts. Was he going to lose his innocence here today?

If that were truly the case, he would really want to eat all these guys alive!

Watching his jeans and boxers being forcibly torn off together, and seeing the several tall, burly thugs in front of him with excited faces, Eddie, who had only graduated from university a few years ago and was in the prime of his life, fair-skinned and clean-cut, suddenly fell into despair.

However, just then, a golden figure descended from the sky like a God, and with just a few waves of his hand, he swatted those perverted thugs away like flies.

He even pointed at Eddie's pants with his hand, and with some miraculous power, restored his pants to their original state.

"Friend, quickly put on your pants!"

The majestic yet warm voice instantly dispelled all the despair in his heart, allowing him to see the light again.

He swore that from now on, this God of War, who had saved him from such an ordeal, would be his greatest idol for life. Anyone who crossed the God of War would be crossing him, Eddie.

"Thank you, thank you so much!"

Eddie hastily pulled up his pants and retrieved his camera and wallet.

"In this place, try not to be alone at night, otherwise, it's very unsafe. Hurry home."

Hawking nodded, then turned to leave.

The Daily Bugle's star reporter, his main future news writer—it was natural to save him. If it were anyone else, for such an incident with clearly low justice value, he might not necessarily have intervened.

At this point, Eddie quickly stood in front of him and introduced himself:

"I'm Eddie, a reporter from the Daily Bugle. Can I ask you a few questions?

Of course, if you don't want to answer, that's fine too."

"Speak."

Hawking paused for a moment, then nodded.

Some words conveyed through Eddie's mouth could further enrich his image and also help boost the Daily Bugle's sales—killing two birds with one stone.

"No problem."

Eddie immediately pulled out a small notebook and started writing.

"Where do you come from? Are you human?"

"I was born on Earth and naturally possess these abilities."

"How old are you?"

"About the same as you."

"Why do you come out at night to fight crime?"

"Because I am irreconcilable with evil!"

Hearing Hawking's answer, Eddie was momentarily stunned.

"Once, a wicked crime occurred before my eyes, and I did not intervene. Only after it ended did I feel immense regret. There is no greater pain in the World than this.

So, I made up my mind to be irreconcilable with evil, to be an evil nemesis, and to eradicate evil!"

After making up a few lines, Hawking leaped and disappeared from Eddie's sight.

Meanwhile, Eddie suddenly understood. Although it was only a few short sentences, he had already imagined a lot of plot from them.

He thought that Hawking was most likely a Mutant, who was afraid of exposing his abilities and being targeted, so he didn't dare to act, until he encountered a crime. Being kind, he blamed himself for the incident, and so he began to put on armor and fight evil.

At this moment, he was overflowing with ideas for tomorrow's front page: a tragic Superheroes story that would greatly evoke public sympathy and recognition.

"I need to go back and write the article quickly!"

After stomping hard a few times in the middle of the thugs, Eddie quickly went to the parking lot to find his car and returned to Manhattan.

"If this guy really becomes Venom in the future, that wouldn't be bad either."

After leaving Eddie, Hawking continued to fight crime. The more dangerous the incidents, the more people involved, the more frequently he appeared.

The former gave more justice points, and the latter could make his name known faster.

He didn't stop until three in the morning, because he was preparing to do something else.

"Flavius!"

With a light touch on himself, the shining golden armor immediately transformed into a black stealth suit.

With a stomp of his feet, he had already vanished from his spot, blending into the darkness.

"Stupefy!"

On the roof of a luxurious Villa, Hawking lightly jumped onto the balcony and casually cast a Stupefy at the old man sleeping soundly in the bedroom.

Then he leisurely walked to the side of the bed, in front of the tall safe.

According to the bald thug leader's confession, the old man in the bed should be the most powerful boss in this area, with two casinos and four "specialty" bars under his control, and also involved in the flour business.

When he arrived at the entrance, there were more than twenty armed subordinates patrolling the yard alone.

However, those ordinary people posed no threat to him. With his agility, he easily dodged everyone with a few blurs and silently arrived at the master bedroom.

"That safe looks so high-tech."

The safe in front of him, as tall as a person, was clearly not a cheap item. It had not only a password and fingerprint, but also iris verification.

"But it's useless against me."

Hawking raised his hand and pointed at the safe:

"Alohomora!"

"Click!"

The safe instantly opened.

For the Alohomora, or rather, the Door-Opening Charm, as long as it wasn't protected by magical energy, no matter what kind of lock or door it was, it could open it.

This was the magical aspect of magic in the Harry Potter World. Although not powerful, it was quite idealistic, as if it involved the concept of laws.

Hawking even felt that if his mental power was strong enough and his spell research deep enough, this Door-Opening Charm might not only open ordinary doors, but also other things with doors. For example, the door to the heart, the anus, the forehead... After all, it was idealistic magic, and it made sense. The inability to do so only meant he wasn't strong enough.
