Cherreads

Chapter 5 - ch 4

Clasping my hands together in front of me, I shaped them into a narrow nozzle.

Cursed energy surged as I activated Convergence, compressing a blood orb to its absolute limit between my palms. The pressure screamed—then I released it, forcing the blood through the gap as a high-velocity beam.

[Piercing Blood]

The attack crossed the distance in an instant.

It tore straight through his afterimage.

At the same time, Tien appeared several meters to the side, already moving. I didn't release the technique, twisting my stance and dragging the beam after him as he blinked in and out of sight.

So fast…

As if returning the favor, he condensed ki into his palm and began firing. Explosions ripped through the air, forcing me to abandon my aim and move. I sprinted, rolled, leapt—dodging ki blasts by fractions of a second—while forming new blood orbs around my body.

I snapped my fingers.

The orbs detonated outward.

[Supernova]

Blood shrapnel screamed through the air like buckshot, converging from every angle.

Instead of retreating, Tien planted his feet and brought both hands together. Ki compressed violently between his palms before erupting outward in a single blast, obliterating the blood shards in a flash of light.

The smoke cleared—

—and I was already there.

My fist was cocked back, cursed energy roaring around it as I lunged straight for his chest.

He wasn't surprised.

As if he'd expected it, Tien slipped to the side and brought down a hammerfist. I ducked beneath it and snapped a straight kick toward his knee—only for him to block it with the same leg.

I planted one hand on the stage floor and shifted my weight, swinging a left kick upward. He stopped it with his elbow.

I unclenched my fist.

The blood orb I'd been hiding burst open, flooding over his torso like a crimson wave.

Now.

I drew my arm back and drove a straight punch into his chest.

At the exact moment of impact—

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

[Black Flash]

Black lightning erupted violently, warping space around my fist as the strike detonated. Tien was launched backward, skidding across shattered tiles.

I entered the zone.

My cursed energy surged, output spiking to 120%, the backlash tearing through my body even as Reverse Cursed Technique struggled to keep up.

Tien's eyes widened.

I didn't give him time to adapt.

Blood climbed up my arms, hardening and reshaping as it solidified into crimson gauntlets.

[Slicing Exorcism]

We moved at the same time.

He came down with a clenched hammer strike—I slipped to the side. His left elbow followed, colliding with mine in a sharp crack. A straight kick snapped toward me, shifting mid-motion into a roundhouse. I ducked, letting it pass inches above my head, then surged upward with a rising jab.

He caught it.

Using my trapped arm, he yanked me forward and unleashed a brutal three-hit combo. I barely slipped past the first two—but the third dragged me straight into its path.

I answered with an uppercut.

The next instant, we struck simultaneously.

His fist smashed into my face.

My uppercut buried itself into his jaw.

The air distorted—

—and black sparks ignited again.

[Black Flash]

Black lightning exploded between us.

Both of us were thrown apart, disoriented, feet grinding against broken stone as the shockwave rippled through the arena.

For a brief moment, neither of us moved.

Dust drifted through the shattered stage as we steadied ourselves. My lungs burned. Even with Flowing Red Scale and Reverse Cursed Technique active, my body was reaching its limit. My heartbeat thundered in my ears.

That Black Flash… it connected.

And yet—Tien still looked to be in better condition than I was.

Then I felt it.

A shift.

Tien straightened, wiping a thin line of blood from his mouth. His expression sharpened, focus replacing everything else. For the first time throughout the battle, he spoke.

"That technique of yours is dangerous," he said calmly, acknowledging it outright."But this is all you've got."

Ki erupted from his body in a violent wave that surged across the arena. The floor tiles trembled and cracked beneath the pressure.

"I'm ending this here."

The air grew heavy, wind spiraling violently as his aura flared to life at the center of the storm.

Then—

—he lifted off the ground.

Flight…

My stomach dropped.

Before I could react, he vanished upward. A second later, the ground where I'd been standing exploded.

I dove aside as a ki blast cratered the arena, heat washing over my skin as my body screamed in protest. Another blast followed. Then another. He was firing from above now, raining destruction down relentlessly.

I sprinted, weaving through the chaos, forming condensed blood orbs and launching them skyward in a futile attempt to intercept the attacks. The ki blasts tore straight through them, continuing their descent unabated.

I activated [Slicing Exorcism], shaping blood into a broad shield in a desperate attempt to buy time.

It didn't matter.

I clenched my teeth and crossed my arms.

Blood surged from my pores, layering over my body, thickening and condensing into overlapping plates.

The ki blast punched through the shield and detonated.

The arena exploded.

My blood armor shattered instantly, the force slamming me into the ground hard enough to carve a crater into the stage.

Tien descended, landing lightly a short distance away.

"You're still standing," he said, almost impressed.

I forced myself upright, a dry cough escaping my throat as blood dripped freely from my body.

"Flight…" I muttered, my voice barely more than a whisper."…should be illegal."

My legs gave out.

I collapsed face-first onto the shattered floor as my vision darkened—

—and everything went black.

For a heartbeat—

nothing happened.

Dust drifted down in slow spirals, oppressive ki pressure faded, but the arena was still in pieces, leaving behind an eerie stillness of what just happened a few moments ago

The sound spread.

Murmurs rippled outward like a wave as tens of thousands of spectators finally remembered how to breathe.

"That kid—"

Applause.

It started hesitantly—one section, then another—until the sound filled the arena.

----------

At the center of the destruction, Tien stood motionless.

His chest rose and fell slowly as he looked down at Yuji's collapsed form

His fists unclenched.

"…You pushed me if he had known how to use ki then....,"

Then he shook his head, turning away .then slowly started walking off the stage

On the opposite side of the arena—

Krillin swallowed, throat dry." Guys…" he said slowly, eyes never leaving the crater.

"He made Tien take to the air."

Roshi lowered his sunglasses just enough to peer over them

"That boy fought at a disadvantage from the start," he said. "And still adapted."

------------

The medical team rushed onto the stage, boots crunching over debris. As they lifted Yuji onto the stretcher

Tien was already on the stage near goku

As Goku spoke up

"wow tien that fight was so cool, you sure were having fun out there, and now I am really excited to fight you."

tien rubing the back of his head

"yeah to be honest, even I was suprise alittle, oh right! Give me a senzu bean."
