But who would have thought that Marin was only a gyaru on the surface. She was completely different from those truly open gyarus.
"You bastard, let go of Big Brother Hayato!" As Kael was thinking, Hayato's blond-haired companions shouted at him, surrounding him with numbers.
Kael released Hayato, dashed forward to one of them, and threw a punch. Bang! With a dull thud, the guy flew five or six meters and crashed to the ground. And that was with Kael holding back part of his strength.
These days, Kael had been constantly devouring soul fragments from the slaughterhouse, tempering his soul, and nourishing his body. Now, even a casual wave of his hand carried the strength of a thousand pounds. If he didn't restrain himself, a light slap could kill someone.
In front of everyone, Kael didn't want to cause a murder case. So he deliberately held back, but even so, Marin and the others were stunned. One punch sending someone flying five or six meters—it was like a movie scene.
Marin and Saki only thought Kael was strong, but the punks knew the truth.
Monster.
They exchanged glances and ran, abandoning even their Big Brother Hayato. This monster was beyond their ability to handle. They didn't even bother with threats—just cursed their parents for not giving them more legs.
With the crisis over, Kael asked: "Are you two okay?"
Saki shook her head. Marin's eyes sparkled as she rushed over, squeezing Kael's arm and touching his waist. Saki blushed furiously—this was far too forward.
"What are you doing?" Kael flicked her forehead.
"Ow."
Marin rubbed her forehead and laughed. "Renjou-kun, you don't even look that strong. How did you send him flying so far?"
She gestured excitedly. "Amazing, just like in a movie."
Saki nodded. She felt the same. That punch had been incredible, striking her heart like a deer bounding inside, her pulse racing uncontrollably.
Marin asked: "Renjou-kun, how did you do it? Do you practice karate or something?"
Karate? Trash. It wasn't that Kael looked down on karate—he looked down on all martial arts in this world. As someone versed in countless demonic arts, he had no respect for them. But he didn't say that. Instead, he gave an excuse.
"Actually, I don't practice martial arts. I was just born with divine strength."
"Born with divine strength? Amazing, so people like that really exist!" Marin said in awe.
She believed it. She actually believed it. So Marin was really that simple?
The three laughed and left, leaving the unconscious Hayato behind. At first, Marin wanted to call an ambulance for him. But Kael stopped her. "Those guys who ran off probably went to get reinforcements. They'll be back soon. Let them deal with him."
Marin thought about it and agreed, hurrying away with Kael and Saki.
After that incident, none of them felt like shopping anymore. So they left Akihabara and decided to visit Tokyo Tower.
Tokyo Tower offered both sightseeing and exercise. Visitors could climb the outdoor stairs to the main platform. From the glass platform, they could overlook Tokyo's streets. On clear days, even Mount Fuji could be seen in the distance.
Fortunately, the weather was good today. From the platform, they saw Mount Fuji. Japan really was small. In a certain eastern country, no matter how high you climbed, you couldn't see Mount Tai.
"So beautiful." Marin gazed at Mount Fuji and sighed.
Saki said: "Let's go there sometime."
"Sure, sure," Marin replied happily. "Next long holiday, let's go to Mount Fuji."
Then both looked at Kael. He didn't refuse. "Alright, next time we have time, let's go."
The two girls beamed with joy.
By the time they left Tokyo Tower, night had fallen. At its base stood a five-story building with restaurants, shops, and even a science museum displaying TVs, radios, instruments, and educational exhibits. Visitors could enjoy themselves and learn at the same time.
The three ate dinner at a restaurant. Afterward, Kael first escorted Marin home, then took the train to walk Saki back.
"Renjou-kun." As they parted, Saki suddenly called out.
"What is it?" Kael asked curiously.
Gathering her courage, Saki stepped forward and kissed his cheek. "Thank you for today, Renjou-kun." Then she ran into her house without looking back.
Watching her disappear, Kael frowned. Could Saki really be falling for him? Her actions suggested so. The classic "hero saves beauty" might be cliché, but it worked. Countless women had fallen for it throughout history. Saki was no exception.
But Kael hadn't fallen for her. He had felt something for Mafuyu, and for Marin, but not for Saki. His confession to her had only been a way to change her fate. He had planned to break up once her future was secured.
But now, Saki seemed to be falling deeper.
This was… troublesome. Forget it. He would deal with it step by step.
For now, something more important awaited. He was impatient.
Blond Hayato—time to kill you. Are you ready?
