----------------------------------------------------------

While Susanoo devoured the Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi, within the realm between life and death-a boundary where humans could not exist, where even breathing was poisonous-

Inside a thatched hut, three figures gathered.

Two men and one woman. Each bore distinct features, as if in the middle of a discussion.

Suddenly, the stout middle-aged man with stubble, Buddhist prayer beads wrapped around his wrists and neck, stiffened. He looked upward, disbelief flashing across his face.

"The connection with the sword has been severed... No. This feeling-it was directly destroyed."

Across from him, an elderly man in a black monastic robe spoke. His body was emaciated, his appearance closer to a mummy than a living person.

"Old Man Sword, it seems the new King isn't easy to deal with. Are you going to go out and fight him?"

"Perhaps the new King mistook it for an Heretic God and killed it," a third voice said gently.

"After all, he only just became a Campione. He may not be able to distinguish between an Heretic God and a subordinate god."

Between the withered monk and the stout man, a beautiful woman sat gracefully, facing the hut's entrance.

She wore a Jūnihitoe-twelve layers of ceremonial robes once reserved for Heian-era nobility and princesses.

Brilliant colors framed her glass-like pupils, giving her a strange, captivating charm.

Ash-blond hair flowed past her waist. Her ivory skin was flawless.

Her face, as though carved by a master craftsman, surpassed the realm of ordinary mortals.

"The final feedback Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi sent me was strange," the Old Man Sword said after a pause.

"It felt as if its Authority had been stolen."

He revealed the last fragment of information he received before the connection was cut.

"But the achievements of us gods cannot be taken by a Campione, even through a witch's Dark Offering. And Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi itself possesses the Authority of 'stealing.'"

"Stealing?" The glass-eyed princess looked at him calmly.

"If it's the Campione who slew Verethragna, possessing a Golden Sword that cleaves Divinity isn't strange. But cleaving and stealing are not the same."

"There's no point in us old farts overthinking things in the Otherworld," the black-robed monk said lazily.

"Why don't you go talk to that Campione yourself? Maybe he only sealed your sword instead of destroying it."

At the phrase "old farts," the glass-eyed princess frowned faintly.

"Hm."

The Old Man Sword frowned, clearly tempted.

Then he shook his head.

"Not yet. I'll wait for Ena to return and confirm the Campione's attitude before acting."

"The former Steel Hero God," the monk sneered,

"after hiding in seclusion for thousands of years, has even lost the will to fight. How ironic."

"Then what do you plan to do after obtaining Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi?"

After hearing Hiro's explanation, Seishuuin Ena asked, curiosity breaking through her inner turmoil.

"The plan?" Hiro replied calmly.

"Obviously, I'll go to the Otherworld and find that Susanoo."

He withdrew the purple figure behind him.

With his right hand, he materialized Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi and casually placed it beside Seishuuin Ena.

Then, he manifested another identical sword.

"Since you're my shrine maiden, I'll return Kusanagi-no-Tsurugi to you. Its appearance is the same, but its function has changed slightly. You'll need to figure out the details yourself."

With that, Hiro stood.

He looked past Seishuuin Ena, toward the two figures standing side by side.

The blonde, blue-eyed Amaterasu.

And the silver-haired, silver-eyed Grayfia.

"Hiro-sama, do you need me to accompany you?"

Grayfia clasped her hands at her abdomen, her expression calm as she asked.

"No need," Hiro said.

"It's just Susanoo-no-Mikoto. It won't take long."

He turned his gaze to the silent blonde girl staring straight at him.

"Yuri, do you want to come? I plan to kill Susanoo this time."

I'm going to kill your brother.

He didn't say it outright. With Seishuuin Ena present, he didn't need to.

Amaterasu would understand.

"Yes."

She nodded without hesitation.

"That's not my brother."

Susanoo isn't Amaterasu's brother?

Which mythology is this from?

Hiro shook his head and didn't pursue the thought.

He glanced at Seishuuin Ena, who was staring blankly at Amaterasu.

Then he remembered.

This girl possessed exceptionally strong spiritual vision. Amaterasu's true nature couldn't be hidden from her.

Raising the long sword in his right hand, Hiro stepped toward Amaterasu.

He casually drew a line through empty space.

An entrance to the Otherworld opened.

The sword in his hand shifted into a golden double-pointed spear.

Hiro took the girl's soft, boneless hand and stepped into the deep passage without hesitation.

"Hiro-sama," Grayfia's voice sounded softly behind him.

"May your military luck prosper."

The passage closed.

After staring at the sealed void for a long while, Seishuuin Ena finally snapped out of it.

She looked at the silver-haired maid beside her, disbelief still lingering.

She already knew the maid's name-from Hiro's words earlier.

"Grayfia... King..."

"You are Hiro-sama's guest," Grayfia said plainly, looking down at the kneeling girl.

"You may call me Grayfia."

A Campione willingly becoming someone else's maid.

If I hadn't seen it myself, I'd never believe it.

But if it's him...

Then it isn't impossible.

Thinking of the young man who made her not even dare activate her spiritual vision, Seishuuin Ena nodded silently.

After two seconds of hesitation, she asked quietly,

"Miss Grayfia... the girl beside the King just now-she isn't human. Or at least, not purely human. Right?"

"Yes."

Grayfia answered without concealing Amaterasu's identity.
