I am the CEO. I should be formal, straight-faced, and strict—the embodiment of Wolfe Groupings itself. But today… today none of that seemed to matter.
Normally, when I am interviewing candidates, I would enter through the main doors. It allows me to watch how potential hires move and how they carry themselves. I watch out for how their energy speaks before they open their mouths. I could gauge instinctively whether someone belonged. Today, I couldn't. So, I took the private entrance, slipping in like a shadow. The back hallway smelled faintly of polish and electronics. Its sterile calm contrasted with the chaos I knew waited in the lobby.
