Chapter 20 - Down The Mountain

Facing the gazes of those around him, Wang Yufan still felt the need to slightly cover his face.

As he and Little Black turned a corner, the flesh on Wang Yufan's face subtly shifted, and in a moment, he transformed into an ordinary-looking young man. The adorable, dazed black dog also turned into a large, fierce-looking black dog.

"This is good. Little Black, let's go. Remember, this time down the mountain, we're just experiencing the mortal world. You've been with me for a thousand years, and we haven't wandered the human world. We need to experience the prosperity of this human world."

While he said this aloud, he also mumbled inwardly, "I haven't been down the mountain for millions of years either."

Little Black barked three times, indicating agreement.

"Let's go."

Immediately, the man and dog began to wander again. Looking at the snacks displayed by the roadside, the black dog drooled all over the ground. Wang Yufan also smelled the aroma and unconsciously swallowed his saliva.

However, he hadn't used money for a very, very long time, and he also didn't know what currency was circulated in the Heavenly Desolate World.

Thus, the man and dog stood by, watching and smelling the delicious aroma wafting from the pots.

"How much is this Green Silk Noodle Soup?"

A woman dressed in green clothes with a silk scarf covering her mouth asked the vendor. Behind her followed two elders, who were surprisingly in the Spirit Severing Realm.

Wang Yufan saw all of this, but he didn't care. What he cared about was what the woman would take out to exchange for that bowl of Green Silk Noodle Soup.

"Miss, you've come to the right place. My stall has been passed down from my grandfather's grandfather to my generation. It's the best in Southern Desolate Barren, and I dare say there's no other Green Silk Noodle Soup in Southern Desolate Barren as delicious as mine."

"Then, Boss, give me a bowl."

"Miss, my noodles are excellent, so the price isn't low." The stall owner then held up five fingers.

"Five low-grade spirit stones?" the woman asked uncertainly.

The stall owner shook his head and said.

"Miss, I'm asking for fifty low-grade spirit stones."

Just as the woman was about to speak, an elder behind her snorted.

"Hmph, do you think we don't understand? This bowl of noodles at most costs 10 low-grade spirit stones, at most. Fifty? You're not doing business, you're robbing."

"Sir, my stall is precisely because after I state the price, no one comes to eat. If you eat it and feel that these fifty low-grade spirit stones are not worth it, then I will treat you for free."

"Oh, if it's truly as you say, then give us three bowls. If we find it delicious, we'll pay. But on the contrary, if we don't find it delicious, then we're sorry," the woman said at this point.

"Elder Wang, Elder Li, let's try this Green Silk Noodle Soup. Anyway, we won't be at a loss."

The two elders nodded.

"Then we'll listen to Miss."

"Please, the three of you. To be honest, if you're local, you can inquire about the reputation of my Green Silk Noodle Soup. Seeing that you are also cultivators, how dare I, a humble one, deceive you."

"Alright, hurry up and make it. We're waiting to eat," Elder Li, who was sitting next to the woman, urged.

"Alright, please wait a moment, it'll be ready soon."

The stall owner finished speaking, then went to his stall and began to work, kneading dough, rolling noodles, boiling noodles, and simmering soup. The cooking process was smooth and fluid.

Not far away, Wang Yufan and the black dog kept swallowing their saliva.

"Cough, cough, cough, Little Black, when it's ready, you go and smell it up close and taste it first. If you think it's good, come back and tell me, and I'll figure out a way to try it."

Hearing Wang Yufan's words, the black dog barked softly twice.

The black dog's barks attracted the attention of the woman sitting in front of the stall, waiting for her meal.

The woman unconsciously raised her eyes slightly and saw a black dog not far away, drooling and staring at the stall owner making noodles.

Then, following her gaze upwards, a man in white appeared in her vision. A sense of ethereal elegance made the woman feel that this person must be very handsome. But when she fully raised her head and saw the ordinary face of the man, she still felt a tiny bit of disappointment.

"It seems I was overthinking. Dressed so well, how could he necessarily be a handsome person?"

The woman thought to herself. But when she saw the man's gaze, just like the dog's, fixed on the stall owner, she was a little puzzled.

Could it be that this man and dog hadn't eaten, otherwise why would they keep staring at the stall owner making noodles?

The woman thought, perhaps they ran out of spirit stones, which is why they're hungry. However, she had just noticed that the man's clothes were spotless. Although he looked ordinary, he might still be a rich young master.

She was born the daughter of the Heaven Sword Sect Master, whose power was second only to Heavenly Severance Manor in Central Spirit State.

From birth, she had natural anomalies and was hailed by the Heaven Sword Sect as the greatest genius in a thousand years, having reached the third layer of the Spirit Severing Realm at only 18 years old.

This growth rate was simply astounding. Even Feng Xiu, the genius disciple of Heavenly Severance Manor, was only at the eighth layer of the Nascent Soul stage.

Even Feng Shang and Feng Jue of Heavenly Severance Manor, upon hearing this news, had expressed interest in taking her as a disciple.

However, the Heaven Sword Sect Ancestor, Meng Chuhe, refused them all, stating that Meng Yiyue was destined to seek the dao in the Central Domain and even the Upper Domain, and no one in the barren lands was worthy of being her master.

This left the arrogant Feng Shang and Feng Jue seething with anger, but they couldn't vent it because the Heaven Sword Sect Ancestor's cultivation had also reached the first layer of the Dao Integration Realm.

Since then, Meng Yiyue of the Heaven Sword Sect has been known as the number one genius of the barren lands among the younger generation in Central Spirit State.

Just as Meng Yiyue was pondering, the stall owner called out,

"Three esteemed guests, your noodles are ready, please enjoy."

Immediately, three bowls of Green Silk Noodle Soup were served, and the air was filled with a unique, delicious aroma of noodles.

Looking at the served noodles, Meng Yiyue felt that they smelled quite good. She wondered how they would taste, picked up a noodle with her bamboo chopsticks, and put it into her mouth.

Instantly, the taste directly exploded on her taste buds. The noodles were chewy and springy, and taking a bite cleared her thoughts considerably.

She then said, "It truly is good noodles. Fifty low-grade spirit stones are well worth it."

"Of course. Everyone who has tasted it says it's good." the shop owner responded proudly.

Not far away, Wang Yufan and the black dog, one man and one dog, stared at Meng Yiyue and the two others eating.

Meng Yiyue felt as if someone was watching her. She looked up and saw the man and dog.

Finally, out of sympathy, Meng Yiyue asked the stall owner to make a large bowl and sent it to Wang Yufan, who was observing from a distance.

The stall owner said that this bowl of noodles was given by the young lady. Wang Yufan glanced briefly at the woman, then began to savor the Green Silk Noodle Soup.

As for Meng Yiyue's actions, Elder Wang and Elder Li beside her were not surprised; after all, their Sect Master's daughter had a kind heart.
