Humanity had long been the dominant force in the world, building cities, cultivating lands, and controlling nature, believing their security and stability would last forever. But that belief shattered.
In a tragic and mysterious event, creatures known as Demons appeared—ferocious beings sometimes taking human forms. They destroyed everything humanity had built and killed more than half of the population. Some humans fell captive to these monsters, becoming slaves or living food, fueling the Demons' power and increasing their brutality.
For a century, humans fled in fear, endured unimaginable suffering, and struggled for survival—until they finally found a way to fight back. Scientists invented the Spiritual Weapon, an unprecedented tool capable of targeting and tearing apart a Demon's soul, making battle possible, though still extremely dangerous and demanding great courage.
With this new weapon, humans began rebuilding their cities, establishing networks of interconnected settlements equipped with advanced defense systems, and training generations of soldiers to wield Spiritual Weapons as the first line of defense against any demonic attack.
Thus erupted the devastating war between humans and Demons. The Demons did not merely attack—they defended, countered, and fought in unpredictable ways, making each encounter a bloody battle with uncertain outcomes.
The protagonist of this story is one of these soldiers, a seventeen-year-old boy with an ordinary appearance. After long deliberation, repeated failures, and countless challenges, he decided to become a Demon Slayer. His goal was not glory or fame, but to end humanity's collective suffering and try to put an end to the catastrophe that had shattered the world everyone knew.
A loud alarm echoed through the underground laboratory, its shrill sound bouncing off the cold, metallic walls. Panic rippled among the people inside as they scrambled to locate the source of the problem.
Amid the chaos, a strange machine caught their eyes, blinking with ominous red lights. Written across its side in bold letters was: Project R.
Then, a voice pierced the tension soft yet chilling carrying clearly through the room, as if speaking to every ear at once.
"The Project R is going to start… first operation now."
Everyone froze, hearts pounding, unsure whether to move, run, or brace for what was about to unfold. The air was thick with anticipation, fear, and an unspoken question: what is Project R, and what will it unleash?
Then the voice continued, calm yet chilling:
"Please choose… one of the systems to initiate the operation:
Rebirth… Redemption… Requiem… Razor… Rift… Ravager… Rapture."
Everyone froze, each name radiating danger and mystery, as if choosing any one of them would alter their fate forever.
A long silence filled the laboratory, eyes shifting between the names and the strange machine, everyone waiting for the moment of decision that would trigger the first phase of Project R.
After moments of complete silence, a figure approached the machine, his steps steady yet silent, eyes fixed on the mysterious options before him.
Slowly, he reached out and pressed one of the names, revealing nothing to anyone about his choice.
Then something strange began to emerge somewhere beneath the ground; a mysterious device appeared, as if it were rising from the earth or growing unnaturally.
Faint lights flickered from it, and metallic sounds echoed:
Ting… ting… ting… ting…
With every sound, the tension and sense of danger in the air intensified.
And with this enigmatic scene, the chapter ended, leaving everyone—and the reader—wondering what will happen next and what the true nature of Project R really is.
"No one knew what each system could do…" or maybe there is someone know...
