Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Ordinary Days

Aarav's life was simple.

He woke up every morning to the sound of birds outside his window and the smell of tea coming from the kitchen. His village was small, quiet, and surrounded by fields that turned golden in summer. Everyone knew everyone, and nothing ever changed.

At least, that's what Aarav believed.

He was a school student like any other. He wore the same faded uniform, carried a bag that always felt too heavy, and complained about homework just like his friends. Teachers often said he was "capable but distracted," though Aarav never understood what that meant.

What they didn't know was that Aarav often felt… different.

Sometimes, when he stood alone on the school terrace during lunch break, he felt the wind move strangely around him, as if it listened to his thoughts. When he was angry, doors slammed harder than they should. When he was scared, lights flickered.

He told no one.

At home, life was warm but ordinary. His mother worried about his studies. His father talked about work and the future. In the evenings, Aarav sat outside, watching the sky slowly turn dark, wondering why his heart felt restless for no reason.

One night, as he lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, his father spoke words that changed everything.

"We're moving to the city," he said quietly.

The room felt suddenly smaller.

Aarav didn't answer. He didn't know how to. The village had been his whole world. The city felt like a place meant for other people — louder, faster, unknown.

That night, Aarav slept late.

And when he finally closed his eyes, he dreamed of fire, light, and a voice calling his name from somewhere far beyond the stars.

He woke up with his heart racing.

For the first time, Aarav felt certain of one thing:

His ordinary life was about to end.
