Chapter 28 - Chapter 28:Inheritance is earned

Broko re-appeared in homelanders verse...

The desert was quiet in the way only annihilated places were.

No welcome wind

No insects buzzing annoyingly around

Just heat baked into stone.

Bala stood at the center of a shallow crater, feet planted, aura pulled tight against his skin.

Not flaring about.

His tail flicked once controlled.

Compressed Great Ape and just like himself, permanent.

Broko felt it before he saw it.

He landed without ceremony, boots crunching into glassed sand.

For a moment, neither spoke.

Then Broko nodded once trying not to smile at his son.

"…You stabilized it my boy."...

Bala grinned, sharp and feral. "Took longer than I wanted but I did it dad."

Broko stepped closer, eyes scanning not searching for weakness, but checking structure. Ki flow. Breath rhythm. Muscle tension.

"Your compression ratio is uneven," Broko said calmly. "You favor the right side too much when you strike."

Bala scowled looking away . "I know dad"

"But," Broko continued crouching to eye level , "you didn't rupture your core and you didn't lose yourself again."

That mattered more than praise.

Bala straightened unconsciously.

"So," he asked, trying to sound casual, "does that mean I'm strong enough now ?"

Broko's mouth twitched trying not smile.

"It means," he said, "you're no longer pretending to be a tough guy."

He placed a heavy hand on Bala's head.

"You've crossed the line where power stops being borrowed and starts being commanded by your will ."

...

Tehm sat on a rock nearby, arms crossed, tail lashing irritably.

He hadn't transformed since the incident.

Hadn't sparred.

Hadn't joked.

When Broko looked his way, Tehm turned his head sharply, ashamed of himself .

"…I messed up dad ," he muttered.

Bala glanced over. "You didn't bro, it was my fault"

"I DID," Tehm snapped. "I got knocked out by your stupid attack."

Silence followed for a few seconds .

Broko walked over and crouched in front of him.

"You learned something," Broko said evenly.

Tehm glared. "That I'm weaker than my brother ."

"No son ," Broko corrected. "That power without awareness causes friendly fire."

Tehm clenched his fists. "Bala moved up and I didn't."

Broko leaned closer.

"Good," he said.

That made Tehm freeze.

"Sulking means you remember. Guilt means you care. Both are fuel but only if you don't drown in them."

He stood.

"You'll train twice as hard And when you catch up" Broko glanced back at Bala, " you'll surpass him in something else."

Tehm didn't respond.

But his ki stirred that night for the first time in days..

After a few days, Broko took the twins with him as he returned home

Back in the young Justice verse

Underground in a Sterile environment

Holograms rotated slowly at the center of the table....

Rathok's death played again frame by frame.

Lex Luthor watched without blinking.

Amanda Waller's jaw was tight.

"So," Lex said calmly, "we've confirmed two things."

"Go on," Waller replied.

"First: Broko's faction bleeds."

"And second?"

Lex smiled thinly.

"Natural Saiyans adapt faster than we predicted."

A scientist cleared his throat. "The clone performed within expectations however, emotional cohesion among the Saiyans increased post-loss."

"Meaning?" Waller snapped.

"Rathok's death strengthened their unity and their strength."

Silence fell.

Then Lex leaned forward.

"Then we stop fighting families," he said. "And start erasing lineage.".

A new hologram flickered to life.

Two figures appeared on it

Similar in appearance but not identical.

"Clone Variant Two," the scientist announced. "Upgraded neurology. Paired deployment."

Waller raised an eyebrow.

"…Two?"

Lex's smile widened.

"No," he corrected. "One plus a shadow."

....

It was Night over the island.

The ocean was calm.

Too calm.

The old Saiyan engineer stiffened mid-scan.

"…Multiple signatures are coming to the island ," he growled.

Nina looked up, eyes narrowing.

Then the sky shook as two figures descended.

The first was familiar, taller now, broader, ki flow refined.

The second moved behind it, aura masked almost completely.

Broko stepped forward from the shadows, children behind him.

His eyes locked onto the lead clone.

"…You fixed your balance," Broko said.

The clone spoke in a new voice deeper, steadier.

"Correction: imbalance was removed."

The second figure stepped out at last.

A mirror.

Younger. Leaner. Eyes empty.

It smiled.

"We learned," it said. "From that dead Rathok."

Bala stepped forward instinctively.

Broko raised a hand stopping him.

"Not yet boy," he said softly.

He took one step forward.

Two clones answered in unison.

"Engagement authorized."

And the night broke open.
