Chapter 18 - The blood in the axes

"When your heart is spiked with swords and your blood turns to water, your strength is exhausted. It's up to your soul to fight not to detach from your physical body, while the planets align in solar waves with the universe adding their energies.

You realize that death is not an option. But rather a factor of struggle against itself"

The city under my eyes, was getting dark, a strong wind came up. Making me shiver, I decide to put on my light brown coat. My hair flew in the air. Newspapers flew towards me. I raise my arms against the wind. The sky was overcast and red, lightning lashed the clouds.

"I need to find a place to stay. — I think

The empty city scenery seemed to be from a horror movie, empty streets and avenues, suddenly a flash appeared, when I see a baseball bat almost hits me in the face. I quickly detour.

A big one with black hair and falling to his face, he seemed to be scared by all that.

"Wh... Who are you?— — he asks "I am...— began Natasha.

"Hey, I know who you are!— — exclaimed the boy

— I don't think so. — I answer

"Rachel Springman, except you have different hair. You were blonde, you were wearing a red dress and high heels. Do not you remember? asked the boy

— Excuse me, but that was a character, it was disguised. — I answer again

"Wow, you tricked me. I really believed you were blonde. Ha ha. — said the boy

"Sorry, I was super late. — I say

— Are you an actress? asked the boy

"No Xavier, I'm not. It was a school play, in a nearby theater. — I say smiling "Gee, I wish I'd seen it, it should have been great. said Xavier Xavier took a good look at the place and said:

"What the hell is going on?— What place is this?

Natasha rolled her eyes, took a deep breath, put her hands on the boy's shoulders and began to explain everything that was happening. He listened to everything, his eyes shining brightly with every word.

"So that's why one of those monsters was chasing me. said Xavier "I think you'd better come with me.— ordered Natasha. "With pleasure. said Xavier

The two followed the path, until they reached a huge building, as soon as they entered there was a long hall and a closed door written, "stairs". With several padlocks attached to iron locks.

"Luna, or whatever her name is, we'd better go the other way. Do not you think? Xavier asked.

"No way, X,— replied Natasha.

Drawing her ax companion, Natasha broke the padlock in two pieces, an incandescent blue glow appeared making the object glow.

Natasha's eyes glinted in the ax light. Her hair ruffled in the wind as it blew over the axe.

The door broke in half, the padlocks melted in a few minutes, with a kick Natasha opened it.

"That was... cool!— Xavier exclaimed.

"I'm surprised myself, he's never done that before.— replied Natasha.

The ax obeyed Natasha, the power came from the will of the girl's heart. His strength to save his family was stronger than anything in the universe.

You do not come? asked Natasha.

Xavier swallowed and said:

"I think it's better to stay down here.— Xavier replied.

You know! — said Natasha

Climbing the stairs and disappearing into the darkness. Natasha goes on her way.

"On second thought, I'd better go.— said Xavier. "Hey, wait for me!"

The boy followed Natasha stumbling down the stairs. So reaching it.

"Have you changed your mind, Captain Courage?— asked Natasha.

"Just so you know, I'm very brave!— Xavier explained.

— Uhm and I'm a natural brunette, can't you see my beautiful brown hair?

asked Natasha.

— Very funny, you should be a comedian. Xavier snapped.

"So honey, those are some of my talents. Natasha said, throwing her hair back.

"It's just...— Xavier began.

"Shhh... I think I heard something.— — said Natasha — A monster? Xavier asked. — Possibly. — I answer

"That's what I was afraid of. said Xavier

I take my flashlight and shine it the rest of the way, a long, narrow hallway with countless doors. As the last time. All with engraved numbers made of marble stone, in descending order and with the symbolism of Roman numerals.

"When I say the magic word, you unlock the first few doors. ordered Natasha.

I? Xavier asked.

"Yes, you Xavier! Don't stress me out. Natasha snapped.

It is good too. Xavier replied.Let's go. When I give the signal. — said Natasha

Natasha unfastened her hair, intertwined it in her hands and returned it to the high and tight bun, leaving the locks out, falling over her forehead.

Now! Natasha screamed

Xavier quickly disengaged the three doors, and before he could run, a tranquilizer dart hit him in the neck. Falling quickly to the ground. The girl held him by the shoulders and tried to run. The walls were coming closer, suddenly an iron wall appeared from the ceiling and closed the passages.

A monitor appeared and a voice echoed, saying:

"Hello, welcome to another level of Lethal Trials. This time the danger is more risky. An enigmatic dilemma occurs here. Whether it will survive or give up remains to be seen. Good luck, fate is on your side.

"Damn voice, motherfucker.— — said Natasha

— No, Mom, I won't go to class today. Xavier mumbled in a sleepy voice.

— Wake up Xavier, I need your help. Natasha begged.

Thinking about all the possibilities that would occur if I couldn't escape from there, my oxygen was already scarce, I was drenched in sweat and in agony.

Think Natasha, think.

"Remember that electrical class we had in Boy Scouts?— I ask myself A short circuit, that's it!

I pull a bottle of water, and position my legs to give me momentum, I jump and hang from the top of the ceiling, where there was a hole, I use my legs and stand upside down, with my hands I hold the mini television that was plugged into the wall . I break the screen with my axe, cut the wires and douse the wiring system with water.

"Alert, alert. System error! Disabling traps, System crash. said a robotic voice.

"That I got. — I say softly

The doors moved away and made room for us to leave, I took Xavier to a safe place, when we got to the street, it started to rain. We were soaked from head to toe. Holding him in my arms, supporting his body weight along with mine, I found a house a few blocks away,

Arriving in the room, I threw him on the bed. I took off her shoes and with a towel I dried her hair. I lifted his shirt and took it off. Placing your head lightly on the pillow. I went to the kitchen to get a towel with water to clean the wound on her neck. I go back and sit on the edge of the bed and see his abdomen that was injured, with a big cut. I wipe the cloth lightly, being careful not to reactivate the blood.

"Looks like someone's been working out.— Natasha said softly.

Natasha approaches the boy's face very close to clean his neck. Xavier lets out a slight smile and opens his eyes.

Hey. said Xavier

"Hi, how are you feeling?— asked Natasha.

Better. — answers Xavier

"You have beautiful green eyes. — said Natasha — Yours too. Xavier replied.

"You should thank me for saving your life.— — I say smiling

Natasha stands up and punches Xavier in the shoulder. He complains of pain and then laughs. Walking away from the bed, Xavier grabs Natasha's arm.

"Hey, I wanted to talk to you. said Xavier

What would it be? — I ask

Pulling Natasha hard, she ends up falling on top of him, their faces are very close to each other, Xavier leans over and gives Natasha a light kiss.

"I can't get you out of my mind, ever since that day. Xavier replied.

Natasha's eyes widen and then she quickly gets out of bed and turns around.

Standing with my back to Xavier.

What it was? Xavier asked.I can't. replied Natasha. Why? Xavier asked. "Was the kiss that bad?"

"I love someone else. — I answer

I lift my head in fright, I can't believe I just said that!

You have boyfriend? Xavier asked.

— Not exactly, the point is that I like him very much. I didn't want it to be true, but I like it. replied Natasha.

I understand. said Xavier

"It's nothing against you, far from it. You are handsome, attractive, fun. But

I'm not the right girl for you. — said Natasha

It saw? That's what makes you different Natasha, your sincerity, spontaneity, beauty and your integrity that attracted me to you. Xavier explained.

"I appreciate it, but I'm not all that. Natasha snapped.

— Don't make yourself smaller, to fit into small spaces. Don't belittle yourself. You are a special girl and you deserve to be happy.

Natasha gives a slight smile, tucks her hair behind her ear and walks towards a window.

With eyes glazed over the stormy sky, with red lightning lashing the skies.

"I'll find you again, I promise. — I say softly

Xavier stands up and approaches Natasha, holding her hands, looking down at her slightly bruised face, he runs his thumb across the young girl's cheeks.

"Hey, look at me. You are strong, we are in this sinister place. I still can't explain why. But I'm sure you can get out of this. Xavier calmed down.

"I'm already tired of being strong, tired of fighting. — said Natasha moving away from Xavier

Intertwining her hands on her knees, Natasha sat on the edge of the window and faced the moon, the place was dark and the moonlight caressed the girl's silhouette.

— Whenever I'm sad, I try to find beauty in pain. said Xavier, sitting on a wooden chair across from Natasha.

— Quoting a book that I loved to read, which said: If you want to see the rainbow, you have to face the storm. I think it means that in this world you don't choose whether to get hurt or not, there's no choice. Far from it, but only you become strong enough to face your own pain. As strong as she is. There is always a choice, between feeling it or falling asleep for a necessary amount of time. explained Natasha.

"You're absolutely right, but tell me, how long have you been in this place?— Xavier asked.

"I don't know, maybe days, months, weeks or years. replied Natasha. "I'm not sure anymore.

"What if we get trapped, in this dark dimension. Xavier suggested.

— Then I will continue to fight, until there is no more strength in my body to face the challenges. — I say
